HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e scan fault and defective replacement

I am writing regarding the replacement printer I received today, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e.

The original unit was replaced because of two critical and unresolved faults:

1. When scanning a two-page document from the top glass, the output is sent to the laptop as two separate files instead of a single front-and-back file. This issue does not occur when scanning through the document feeder or when using the HP Scan software directly on a laptop.
2. After scanning from the top glass, it takes an average of 5 minutes before the scanned file reaches the laptop, regardless of which laptop is used.
These faults do not occur when I scan through the document feeder or when I use the HP Scan software on a laptop. This isolates the problem to top glass scanning on this model.

Today, I spent nearly three hours with Gane from HP Technical Support, repeating tests on multiple laptops. Unfortunately, the same problems persist. This strongly suggests the issue is specific to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e model, as my previous HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 handled these tasks without any difficulty.

I must also highlight that the replacement printer does not appear to be brand new. The device contained another customer’s email address (Melissa.***@yahoo.com) in its saved memory, indicating it was previously used or refurbished before being shipped to me. Sending a refurbished device as a warranty replacement without disclosure is unacceptable.

Additionally, I continue to face difficulty reaching Mr. Deva, HP Consumer Escalations Case Manager who is assigned to this case. The number provided (1-866-780-6066) consistently disconnects when I attempt to enter the extension. I have reported this issue multiple times, yet the same nonfunctional contact number continues to be shared with customers.

Regrettably, this has been my most disappointing experience with an HP product. My HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 served me reliably for almost 11 years, but the 9125e has left me questioning HP’s quality and customer care. To worsen matters, HP has declined my request to exchange this flawed model for a higher-tier printer, even with my willingness to pay the price difference.

I am therefore making one final and firm request:
• Replace the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e with a different, higher-grade model. I am willing to pay the price difference.

This is the only acceptable solution. Providing another 9125e, refurbished or otherwise, is not an option.

Absolute nightmare

I gave one star only because there is no option to give a zero star
The worst printer and worst customer service anyone could ever have - unimaginable nightmare of a printer - they say it is a straight forward wireless internet connection but it is anything but straightforward - a total nightmare and the customer service is even worse - you rely on chatting to a useless dumb machine - try it if you fancy giving yourself a permanent unresolveable headache. Oh and not forgetting the ink plan that you can never get out off once you sign up to it - you pay monthly for the ink cartridges whether you use the printer or not plus if you print more than ten pages by one you pay for another ten and if you stop paying they lock your printer so it is a useless machine and a space waster dumb. You cannot cancel your contract if you decide to buy your own ink because the machine will not function -
The worst thing is the internet connection - if your internet gets disconnected for any reason, even for a power cut or change your modem, or God forbid change your supplier, the printer gets locked on offline mode and no amount of resetting will work - they want you to talk to customer services who most of the time are non existent or f****** useless.
Add to that a company that is not ethical by any means.
Will never use again and a perfectly almost new printer is going to the bin

false advertising, isn't compatible with my laptop after just one year

Bought a printer a year ago, which worked sort of for a year, then I am told it is no longer compatible with my chromebook, which it was when i bought it. Tough luck to me, they told me to print from an app on my phone! Its impossible when printing parts of complex documents to see the pages clearly on my phone so not really a solution. Its wrong advertising to sell me a printer that works with something and then suddenly it doesn't just a year later. I would avoid this company I will never buy anything from them again

$183 for 0 ink

I am 62 yrs old and I have only owned HP printers and been a loyal customer. Now the printer will not work unless you buy there ink. generic ink will stop the printer. Who ever was the blue collar that came up with idea should be fired. My daughter was charged for there free ink for 10 months till she called and stopped it. She told them she has not needed ink why charge me. The answer was "thats how the program works" I got on the phone and said shes an 18 yr old who makes min wage cant you refund some of the money since she never received the product. The answer was "no thats how the program works". I said can we get ink now and was told "yes if you pay lst month and this month membership". Its a legal scam. I will never again purchase an HP product. She lost $183. I have a hp4255e that ran out of color today. I disconnected it and took it out to the trash. I dont know what I will buy but it will not be HP . I have seen hundreds of reveiws with this complaint

Appalling customer service - doesn't even deserve 1 star

I've tried for 5 days to get advice regarding an error on my HP LaserJet. It is impossible to get to speak to a human, and all other 'AI' and chat advice has been useless. To add insult to injury, I then received a message to say that the issue had been successfully answered!
When I've had problems in the past, I was able to get advice from a person at HP that sorted the problem (albeit for a charge) - the current system is absolutely impossible.
I am now forced to buy a new printer - and it won't be an HP!

What an awful piece of junk
After spending 2 hours with chatgpt trying to figure out all the error codes and it not turning on or off or doing anything I wanted it to do. Turns out I can't use it without an account and paying for the ink subscription service. So I have a printer with power with paper with ink and I can't use it because I'm not paying a subscription. What a terrible business model.
Awful awful awful. I'll be returning and never buying HP again.
