SHOCKING COMPANY! Sold me a speaker worth 299 which had stickers on it. Then waited 10+ days for them to reject my return & ask to send the item back...
Lovely stuff...complete lack of care and consideration!!
Disgrace...
Christopher at MAC bullring Birmingham 4/10/25.
Made my day by helping match and recommend foundation and blush and primer and brush.
He made my face up and even touched in my eyebrows.an asset to your company. I bought all products.
And enjoyed my simple red concert in the evening. Thank you Christopher.
Today my daughter and I were shopping. We bought some products from MAC, Dior, and several other brands, and everyone treated us very kindly — we were happy with our experience.
However, when we went to the women’s section on the lower floor of Louis Vuitton to look at bags and accessories, I was showing my daughter some belts and scarves and asking if she wanted anything. I gently touched one of the belts that was hanging and just looked at the back of it to see if it was reversible — I didn’t even take it off the rack or hold it in my hands.
At that moment, a saleswoman — who seemed to be of Asian (possibly Chinese) appearance — suddenly spoke to me very rudely and told me not to touch it.
I told her that this was not my first time shopping there and that I had always looked at and touched the belts before, and no one had ever spoken to me that way. She then replied, “Yes, that’s right — do you want me to help you now?” I said no, I didn’t need her help, and we left the area feeling upset.
It’s really disappointing to be treated like that, especially as a paying customer. I can only imagine how unpleasant it might be for someone who just wants to look around. This is a touristic place, and the staff should be trained in proper customer service and respectful behavior — not act rudely as that woman did.
By contrast, I often shop at Harrods, where the staff are always extremely polite and welcoming. They always offer me a drink, and, most importantly, I also receive reward points with every purchase. Their professional and respectful service truly makes shopping a pleasant experience — something I expected from Louis Vuitton as well.
I’m truly disappointed and will no longer visit the women’s section (bags, scarves, and belts) on the lower floor. If I need anything, I’ll use online services instead.
I have been after a Cartier “Love” ring for the last 25 years!
My wife kindly surprised me with this for a large wedding anniversary at the end of August.
Cartier didn’t have my size in stock and directed her towards their concession at Selfridges.
She ordered from the Selfridge’s website and paid by PayPal, instead of our American Express as she didn’t want me to see the statement and ruin the surprise.
We opened the package from Selfridge’s together and I tried on the ring. Unfortunately, the ring was too small for me and after less than a minute of trying to get it on my finger, we carefully put it back into the packaging and use the Selfridge’s website to have DHL collect the return.
A week later we still hadn’t heard from Selfridges, so we chased them.
They came back with a rather shocking response…
They said that after rigourous examination the ring was damaged and therefore they would not issue a refund.
This is simply not true. We had the ring out for less than one minute and we did not notice any imperfections with the ring. We certainly did not damage it.
I know it is hard to trust people, but I am a regulated individual and I swear on both of my parents lives (aged 84 and 87!) that we did not mark or scratch that ring in anyway whatsoever.
£2000 is an awful lot of money to us and what was meant to be a surprise gift has ended up badly backfiring.
A simple Google search shocked as further. It showed that this was very common at Selfridges, especially from their Cartier department, which is incredibly alarming for a store such as Selfridges.
Moreover, a simple search shows this is a common issue and has been written about in the national press. Who would have thought it from Selfridges!
They then came back and said it was returned after their 14 day return policy, but it was done on the 13th day!
They can’t keep getting away with this.
Beware Selfridges scam! After 4 days of being told they have cancelled my order and my money would be returned their advise is to tell my bank to get the money back!! Today they now admit that the cancellation failed and still tell me to pass details on to my bank. The bank have been very clear and state no cancellations have been made. For a landmark store I am disgusted they clearly know they are taking customers money and knowing they don't have stock not cancelling and reversing payments imminently. I would not purchase online even if they say in-stock as their system is done manually and they don't care if people get their money back. I wish I had read the reviews I have found since as I would never of risked buying from them. It's for sure a scam to hold onto funds for as long as possible!!
I spend alot of money on clothes so I thought I would try Selfridges - what a mistake - they said item will come Sunday - then they said they cant find item so its not in stock - Monday i get an alert stating in stock - their stock system/control is terrible so if you want something nice dont buy from here - its probably not in stock
Lovely young woman served me in The White Company when I was buying pillows. Great customer service and seemed happy to be there! Would shop again with her.
Wish I saw these reviews before I purchased. Terrible customer service. My item has a manufacturer defect- it is a beauty product. I raised this with the customer service team as I wanted the exchanged. They kept referring to the defect as ‘just’ a small issue but actual contents are good and that’s all that matters. I paid £295 for my product and presentation is absolutely part of the quality. I would not buy from selfridges again.
Selfridges unlocked is a big SCAM. Extremely disappointed with how Selfridges customer services have handled my issue. I made two transactions on the same day. One £325 for a bag and one £5 macaroon purchase. Selfridges have only registered the £5 purchase. So the £325 pitches can not be added even though I scanned the app at the time of purchase. What’s the point in Selfridges adding incentives for customers if they will not add purchases! I complained to customer services who have basically told me it’s tough!
I am extremely disappointed with Selfridges' handling of my recent return. I purchased a dress that, unfortunately, did not fit me — I was unable to even try it on properly. I returned it in the exact condition I received it, unworn and unused.
To my shock, I was later informed by Selfridges that the return had been rejected due to a "pen mark" and supposed "signs of wear." This is simply not true. I believe this is either an error in their returns process or, frankly, an attempt to make me pay for a product I couldn’t use. It feels like a scam.
As a customer, I trusted Selfridges to handle returns fairly and professionally. Instead, I’ve been left with a costly item I cannot wear, and no proper explanation or resolution. I expected better from a high-end retailer and now I feel completely let down.
Buyers beware: If anything goes wrong, don’t expect Selfridges to take responsibility.
Bought a faulty phone case from them, There customer services emailed me a return label which I used to send it back tracked, They received the item back 2 weeks ago and have confirmed they have it but still will not refund me and keep saying there looking into it on every email I send them. AVOID they seem to now be scammers with the worst customer service I have ever received !
I visited Selfridges in London today and was very impressed with the quality of service I received. Reuben was extremely helpful, even though he was clearly very busy. He remained professional, friendly, and approachable throughout, with a smile that made my shopping experience so much more pleasant. It’s rare to see someone manage high demand with such professionalism and care. Thank you, Reuben, for going above and beyond!
5 stars for William at the Mind Games counter. He was knowledgable, genuinely seemed passionate about fragrance and the brand, we talked for 10 mins as he showed us several fragrances with kindness and patience. I would only buy if it was from him
We visited Selfridges last week & went to the Creed Counter in the perfume section. Little did we know that by doing that, it would make our day! We were looked after by Graziano who made us want to just stay at his counter all day. Had all the time in the world for the 3 of us and literally treated us like royalty. We were in London to see a show and this just set us up for the best day!!
One of the best customer services out there. Always happy to help and deal with any issues quickly. Been buying from Selfridges for years and will continue to do so
Awful customer services , for a landmark store. Brought a very expense Fellows kettle, paint start peeling off , less then a year old , but as purchased over 6 months ago, told basically buy customer services to go away , never buy from them again
Awful customer service, item was incorrectly delivered by DPD and just dumped in my hall way and presumably stolen. I have clear instructions on the DPD app not to leave things in the hall way. Selfridges are saying it was "correctly" delivered, I will never buy from you again!
I visited Selfridges Friday 21st March and brought a smart watch from Tekzone technology, just wanted to thank Rohan in taking the time to connecting the watch to my phone, he explained everything to me and was so kind, we need more people like him, he gave great customer service, well done Rohan
Spent hours in Manchester City Selfridges. Stand out star was Pamela on Prada. She swooped us up with a spritz of perfume as we got off the escalator and the rest is history. Pamela was friendly and knowledgeable. We had no intention of visiting Prada but we are glad we did. We will make a beeline for Pamela next time we visit. What a saleswoman
My daughters and I had a wonderful time in Bottega too. The manager was quite possibly the happiest person I saw all day. Great food and great service. A marvellous day all round
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the excellent service provided by Helena, who works in the children's department at the Bonpoint store. She was very professional and kind, and she helped us a lot. That’s why I give her the highest rating. I wish the service was always at the same high level as what she offered us.
