Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. However, opinions regarding payment, staff, and customer service are mixed, with no clear consensus among reviewers. Some people express satisfaction with the politeness and helpfulness of specific staff members, particularly in resolving issues related to parking charges. On the other hand, a significant number of consumers report negative experiences, especially concerning contact with the company and its location. Many reviewers complain about long waiting times when trying to reach customer service by phone, sometimes exceeding several hours. Some people claim they did not receive initial notifications of fines and express frustration with what they perceive as threatening letters and a lack of opportunity to appeal.

They have taken money out of my bank account without permission

I had never heard of this company until I was contacted by my bank to say there had been fraudulent activity on my account. In the space of 24 hour they had tried to take £100 and did manage to take £70, all without my knowledge or permission. I know I have not parked anywhere to get a ticket and have never been notified that I have had one. I have no idea where they got my bank card details but I now to wait for a new card thanks to the fraudulent actions of this company.

Had the week from hell got diagnosed with cancer then my daughter flooded her house so I drive in parked up sorted the flood cleaned up(hour and a half).....and left

Recieved the first letter so I appealed on the grounds of above
No chance you have to pay

Dealing with health hospitals etc I missed the window for the cheaper (laughable)payment opinion! Then get the letter from DRP full of threats lies bullying intimidation

"non payment is seen as a deliberate choice!"
I suppose getting cancer was a deliberate choice aswell

So rang up they never answered but at same time did chat bit Saif wasnt my fine soon chatting to a in humane human

So I'm paying £5 per week for technically nothing !

An abhorrent company vile standards

Cleary this firm are crooks

I received a letter on the 25th August 2025, stating that I have been given to Debt Recovery Plus, as I have not responded to 3x previous letters from the parking firm, Parking & Control. I received none of these. I can understand 1 going missing, but 3? Clearly this is a scam. I was parked at The Green House Hotel (which I will also be speaking to), and there were no clear signs saying that I needed to pay or even register my car. I just thought the parking was part of the hotel if you went to the restaurant. Either way, I would have paid the fine had I received the letter. I then called Debt Recovery Plus to say that there was no place on their letter to dispute their claim in writing. They picked up within 5 minutes. When I told them that I was disputing the claim on behalf of my wife, they said I needed the account holder on the line. I said I was going to get her from the next room, and they then put the phone down on me. On calling them straight back, surprise surprise, I have now been on hold for 1 hour and 7 minutes. They are clearly monitoring my number and not picking up. I will write to BBC Watchdog, Rip Off Britain, Consumer Champions, Which UK and Money Saving Expert. Firms shouldn't be able to get away with this. This firms is run by:

Susan Lesley Ring
Brian William Maynard
Sturt Clure
Lisa Clure
Gareth Brierley

I want this firm to get in touch with me immediately about their practices

SCUMBAGS

I received a letter saying i owe £155 for overstaying at a car park through Euro Car Parks. They state that 2 letters had already been sent to me via Euro Car Parks and this was a final notice from the debt collecting agency....
I have never received any letters at all, i know the car park and had i overstayed and evidence supplied, i would have paid within the timeframe to reduce the fine to 50% of the initial fee.
Ive currently been on hold (not spoke to a real person yet) to DRP for 1 hour and 6 minutes. Nothing, just every minute or so a reminder that you can give in and pay your fine in full via telephone.

Ive emailed them via their website and a awaiting a reply.

This is a shit show. I will not be paying this fine, i dont have evidence, no one has tried to contact me prior to the DRP firm.

Would give them 0 if possible

Would give them 0 if possible, I have received a letter stating that I owe them £170 for leaving my vehicle at Stanstead airport, I have not received any notification from Stanstead airport, they sent a letter which i received on 26/09, the letter was dated 10th SEpt and stated if i did not respond to them before 24th September legal action would be taken. I tried to call them to state i had not receieved any correspondence from stanstead or any other company, however after 2 hours waiting on thephone to no answer i gave up and sent confirmation of original parking paid plus a request for them to contact me. Suffice to say they have not contacted me and now receieved anotherletter dtaed 2nd october (received 14th Oct) stating legal action will commence if they have not heard from me within 7 days. Looking at their website it talks about ethical, sustainability and care what a load of rubbish. Again been on hold for 30 minutes no answer, only option every 30 seconds is thank you for holding a agent will be with you shortly or press one at any time to pay the bill......terrible company.

Extortion and fraud

I hope all non-British drivers and the manager of this thief, fraudster and extortionist company see this message from me. This is the third time this company has abused the law to scam me. They claim to have sent me eight letters and I have ignored them, while I am an Uber driver and have been registered auto pay at Heathrow Airport for three years. And once a year they steal between 150 and 280 pounds from me under this pretext. At least, like me, you should email your local MP and complain to the regulatory body for these companies. Get help from artificial intelligence and don't pay these thieves for free and easy. This company only steals from non-British drivers. And the manager of the Debt Recovery Company thief, remember that this money is dirty and you will never be able to live a good and peaceful life from these extortions that you forcefully take from us foreign drivers and you will definitely pay a heavy price. The only place for a thief is in prison. Even if you claim that you are not aware that your employees are committing these thefts, you are still an incompetent and stupid manager that your employees are stealing like this right under your eyes and that you and the board of directors are not aware of it. I, who am the one to blame for all this extortion and theft from hardworking drivers who work seven days a week to be able to provide for ourselves and our families, hold you responsible. If you want, contact me and I'll show you all the dirty work of your company with documents, and rest assured that one day you will have to answer for all these thefts.

If I could leave a negative star I would.
Same as many others, the debt letter was the first I heard of a fine. Called on two occassion to say this was the first I knew of it and could I appeal as I had proof I was at the establishment, for them to say I was out of time and would have to pay or go to court. Stating the car park company only need proof of posting not proof of receipt of the original notice for a successful result at court, when asked for a copy of this proof they refused saying that would only be given at court. An unreasonable answer to a reasonable request I thought. Needless to say we won’t be going back to the establishment in question ever again.

The mission statement on their website did make me laugh though ‘Acting as trusted intermediaries between our clients and their customers’ they did not act as an intermediary and from my experience, no intention of acting as one!

I paid for parking & was still charged!!

Absolutely horrible modern crooks!!! This is how they make their money! How can a fine exist if I paid before parking???!!! I really thought they would have rectified this as it has nothing to do with me or my bank it was a successful payment! Few weeks later I received a letter demanding a payment of £170. Sent an email stating i paid check your systems as i have my proof inwhich i was told i should have informed them.. shouldn't they check their payments & systems before sending threatening letters to people?! Now im being threatened with court & extra costs. How can this be? I hope all you guys put in complaints & follow through as this is daylight robbery!!!! I will be taking this further as a charge of 50p was paid on the date in question without a glitch.. now to be charged an additional £170 is totally ludicrous. I can't believe they are getting away with this, this is definitely one for Gloria hunningford & the team!

I recieved a notice from DRP that they had been asked to recover a parking charge on behalf of APCOA. This was an error on the part of the company which had issued the charge, and Leon and the DRP team responded promptly to my emails, and confrimed the charge had been recinded within an hour of ACOPA notifying DRP the charge had been cancelled.

Another scumbag debt recoverer jumps into bed with another scumbag, scamming parking disservice. Parked at Polzeath back in August Gota ticket to park. Went beach. Come back on time. Just got a letter now without any letters from the parking company. Without any court summons. £150 charge from a debt collector. They have completely bypassed the appeal process. COMPLETE AND UTTER Scum bagging, evil, scammers. This is the reason the country and local community are going to hell in a handcart. Something needs to be done by the local council or someone. I received a letter for an unpaid parking fine for £170. I paid via PayPal, it said that the payment had been unsuccessful. I proceeded to pay on my credit card. I then noticed that the PayPal payment HAD been processed. Therefore this payment has been processed twice. I called and was advised that this would be credited back to me when the payments had cleared. Have tried to ring several times and been waiting for over an hour most times and due to time restrictions have had to abandon the call. I have emailed several times and have had an automated response advising of a reply in 7 days. I am still waiting and this was 12th August. This has been very frustrating to say the least.

I wanted to update the situation…DRP update!

I wanted to update the situation regarding the company- Debt Recovery Plus! I responded to their request for further details and gave my reference number and telephone and email address! After TWO weeks I still have not heard from Abigale who is apparently handling my case! I cannot access them by their email address and the phone number given is ringing out! ( I have evidence of the 3 calls I have made to the number from my mobile supplier) I have sought advice from my solicitor and my local Citizens Advice Centre ( please be aware that Scottish Law is different from the law that applies in England and Wales) and I’m very confident that should this bogus claim go to court action the evidence I have will lead to a good outcome! I have read the testimonials from many other affected motorists who have been affected by this organisation and hope that we will support each other against this disreputable organisation! Stay strong folks!!!

What an absolute nightmare

What an absolute nightmare and still ongoing in March this year I received a parking fine for going four minutes over I am a carer and stopped to get food for my client. You are allowed 10 minutes free. I’ve been going to Sibley back lake Café for years. My client has a disability car which I drive we also have the blue badges . I went into work and was handed a parking fine of £60 from the parking company who look after Sibley back lake which I paid straight away and have evidence on my online banking, which I have sent to prove on many occasions. I have now received today my seventh letter from them. I have tried constantly to ring them and have just been sat on the phone for 40, 50, 60 minutes at a time with nobody answering the phone I sent numerous emails I have been told to ignore them by members of staff, but they keep on coming. to be honest, I don’t know why it was handed over to a debt recovery company as I paid it within the time stated the problem is the letters aren’t coming to me they are coming to the owner of the vehicle and that is causing her unnecessary stress and I have told the company this on many occasions.
Today the letter I received has said that if I don’t pay it I’m going to be issued with a CCJ a week from today, I have no intentions of paying anything as I have already paid and I’m now seeking advice from the financial ombudsman. I have never been so disgusted in all of my life at peoples inability to do their job.

Sent me a demand which I luckily discovered in my spam folder for £155. They claimed it was the 4th letter - not true on checking further into spam. Letters are veiled with passive aggressive threats of CCJs etc. my next stop is to report them to the Financial Ombudsman with a timeline and to provide evidence of fraud. Phoning to discuss is impossible on hold for sometime.

Update: pathetic response.
