A complete con
They did not send me the initial plan that I purchased , I emailed them and still no plan received but they proceeded to take monthly subscription of over £30 and when I enquired they basically said they had emailed me the plan !
No tel line to contact , I must have had 6 different people responding to the back and forth emails exchanged .
Absolutely rubbish company , do not fall for them.

Money was automatically taken out of my account totalling £89.44. I dont recall signing upto this on a subscription basis. I dont even remember receiving anything from them either
Stay clear I'm not the only one complaining about this

No warning of upcoming payment charges & guess why that is....
I contacted the help email & all I got was a reference to our T&Cs.
Be warned, this will be a costly mistake—payment via PayPal & not Apple, where you have some protection.
Please take a look at the recent reviews; they tell a significant story.
SAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY.

I filled in all the questions about good etc. when saw the plan it was not what I wanted. Deleted the app straight away and thought that was the end of it then got charged the following month. Can’t get money back. Rubbish company steer well away

Be careful I didn’t read the small print in the terms and conditions regarding reoccurring monthly payments. The very condition they claim to be helping they are being quite sharp by selling plan that comes as a PDF and signing to a monthly reoccurring subscription. Based in Lithuania I’m trying to get refund.

This Company are scam artists. I paid for an app and cancelled it before the month end as it didn't really do what I wanted. This Company 'upsell' or sign you up, to a second product without actually asking you. When I cancelled the app I got confirmation and a promise no more money would be taken from my account - then 5 months later they took £176.99 for a product I had not signed up for - but they had done it! I am seeking advice from a financial ombudsman - this Company has to be stopped.

**UPDATE: The company have replied below. Whilst they acknowledged that their pricing information was unclear, they are still refusing to provide me with a refund**
I have been trying to request a refund from Effecto for unexpected charges on the noDiet app, but my requests have been repeatedly rejected.
I originally purchased one week of access in August for £5.49. A further £31.98 was taken a week later, and then £74.99 after that. From the PayPal description, it appears the £74.99 was for just one month’s access to the app!
Effecto has stated that these subsequent payments were apparently communicated at checkout. If this was the case, it must not have been clear — I am generally very careful with these things and would have noticed.
I have not asked for a refund of the £31.98, as I appreciate this went through over a month ago without me noticing. However, I believe requesting a refund for the more recent £74.99 is entirely fair, especially given that I have never used the app (which the company will be able to see) and was given no warning of this upcoming payment.
Dealing with the company has caused undue stress, which is ironic for an app supposedly focused on health and well-being. Looking at other reviews, it seems I am not the only one who has fallen foul of these rigid and unhelpful practices. Personally, I would recommend staying well clear of this company.

DO NOT use this service it is a scam and when you cancel your subscription they do not make it clear you have to cancel 2 separate places and I was charged 176 pounds

Jumbled, cluttered app. Using it a painful experience.
One of those companies that dupes you into (high) autopayments and is then a nightmare to cancel- even if they can see you haven't used the thing in a year.
Do not recommend.

Total SCAM. I did not subscribe! I paid a one-time charge of $15 and was charged the next month for $31 for a 'subscription' that I never signed up for. I contacted their so-called customer service, which basically said I did sign up and will not refund my money. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. THEY TAKE MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT ILLEGALLY.

Unauthorised payments - you'd think you would be able to stop this at source, but the only way I could halt payments was to go to paypal and cancel it. Although the bank statement (the first I knew of this) says "effecto", the payment on paypal says it's a medical service. It isn't, it's a scam and you cannot get your money back, just make sure paypal knows you don't want these fraudulent shysters to be paid.

TOTAL SCAM. They stole me about 113 euros and I've never subscribed to their stuff. I don't even know what I am supposed to get and don't know what they are selling. I've never received any mail or anything else from them, I don't have Apple and don't use Apple at all. They need to be banned from all the app platforms and PayPal.

It crashes too often for me. I love the idea, but losing data is frustrating.

TOTAL SCAM. They stick you.with unauthorized charges and then claim that they have the right to do so if you don't cancel within 48 hours of the end of the 14-day trial period. AVOID!!! They stole $160 from me. They need to be banned from all the app platforms and PayPal. DO NOT GIVE THEM $$

BEWARE, BEWARE, Definitely NOT a good company to deal with. I bought a 3 month subscription, which was $49.99. I cancelled the subscription about 1 month after so l didn’t forget to in 2 months. It’s was due to expire on the 24/8/25, but on the 17/8/25, $125.99 was deducted from my bank !!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!
I sent through the screenshots of proof, but now they are saying l didn’t unsubscribe on THEIR website, and l only did on Apple. What a load of shit.!!!
This company is such a SCAM and are deliberately stealing peoples hard earned money with their lies and greed and false information.
