Mercari has a shady refund policy that buyers need to be aware of. If a seller can't fulfill part of your order, Mercari doesn’t return your money to your original payment method—they issue a store credit instead. This is deceptive and feels like a tactic to keep your money trapped in their platform.

A refund should mean your money back, not a forced credit that assumes you’ll continue to shop with them. It’s not just bad customer service—it’s unethical. Buyers deserve transparency and the option to get their money back, especially when something goes wrong.

Until Mercari updates their refund policy to truly protect buyers, I can’t recommend using the platform.

I never used this app and was still…

I never used this app and was still charged for a subscription I didn’t authorize. I reached out to their support team, expecting a simple refund, but they were completely unhelpful and refused to return my money.

The customer service experience was frustrating and dismissive, and the fact that they keep your money even if you don't use the app says everything. Be careful — once they get your payment info, you're stuck.

Save yourself the headache and avoid this app altogether.
