Subscription set up by stealth
This company took what I thought was a reasonable one-off payment for access to a diet plan. I received a confirmation email saying it was a 1-month plan. Unfortunately I didn't use the plan at all. One month later, I had a notification from PayPal saying they had taken a second payment, double the original amount, which came as a complete surprise. On emailing Effecto, they have said they won't refund it as the product was delivered and they don't offer refunds on digital products. I have sent them a screenshot or my order confirmation email which clearly shows that what I bought is called a one-month plan but they refuse to acknowledge that they did not make it clear that I was buying a subscription. I find this business model unethical and inconsiderate.
