I recently purchased a property with Fox & Sons in Hayward’s Heath and the service was poor. Firstly after enquiring online a number of times to view a property no one returned my calls or emails... See more

Southampton Bitterne Branch: Worst experience by far...
I am absolutely appalled by how bad it has been trying to deal with this company. I put an offer in on a property via the Bitterne branch, the only contact I had from them was to increase my offer, since the increased offer was sent in and being told someone would contact me regarding next steps, I have not heard a thing. It has now been nearly a week and half. I have called and emailed numerous times, no one has bothered to reply or get back to me, after they said they would. It has left me fuming, I wish there was something more to do then just leave a review, but sadly this is the only option.
Buying a property is already a stressful situation, then having to deal with bad treatment on top is a whole different issue. All I can say is be weary. Heavily disappointed by the non professional handling of this whole situation. Wish I would never have to deal with them again but sadly you can't choose who someone sells their property through. They should do and be better.
Fox and sons Langley Eastbourne have…
Fox and sons Langley Eastbourne have been amazing and helpful throughout a very hard house sale. Without Eddy keeping me cool I don’t think I would have made it. Thank you so much Dave and Kathy stitchman 🏠🏠
Very poor service
Very poor service, yes they sold our house, but then did not chase the chain, keep us upated, return calls or call when promised, provided incorrect advice - we had to rely on the estate agent we were buying through, Charters, who updated us weekly, gave answers to our queries - I would not recommend them - caused far more stress and anxiety
Agent lied straight to my face!
This concerns one of the agents at the Polegate branch. Very, very pushy - and a liar. Was supposed to meet me at a property for a second viewing, during my lunch hour. I waited for 20 minutes in the blistering cold, and finally called the office. A colleague of the agent answered my call and I heard them talking to the agent - who had clearly completely forgotten about our viewing. I was told the agent was on their way and would be about 10 minutes. So, 30 minutes of an entire lunch hour waiting outside. When the agent turned up, they said they were late due to car trouble - an outright lie! Why not just tell the truth, apologise, and move on? The curtailed viewing would just about have been ok if the agent hadn't spent most of the time in the property telling me what I should and should't do with the place "in their experience". Being bossy and opinionated is one thing, but being an out and out liar is another completely. You need to employ better people, Fox & Sons. This person's colleague was a complete contrast and, honestly, I would far rather have been dealing with *them*. Have now taken my business to a different agent as a result.
The Fareham Branch at Fox and Sons has…
The Fareham Branch at Fox and Sons has caused us no end of problems. First of all they boasted about their success rates in selling shared ownership and were not upfront about their 20 week contract. In 14 weeks we have had 2 viewings.. The first we never got feedback on and the second the person in question seems highly ineligible to take on a shared ownership scheme. The person showed up 4 weeks ago at our door expecting a viewing which we knew nothing about. Fox and Sons claims they knew nothing of the viewing and then later said he had indeed come into their branch.. It took them 4 weeks to get this person rebooked and they said they were a potential cash buyer. Which then turned out to be a load of rubbish, this person is at least 70 years old and needs a mortgage...
They've also ignored feedback. So this person told them their pictures of our house doesn't do it justice. And 2 other estate agents have given this feedback, as following my complaint they allowed us to go multi agency at 12 weeks. However, this stunt with this elderly buyer feels like a desperate attempt to get us sucked in and make us liable for the £4000 selling fee with the risk the sale could collapse or we get slapped with another £8000 if we miss the deadline to avoid the Early Repayment Charge from our current lender. I cannot stress how devious their selling tack ticks are and you should exercise extreme caution before considering anything from them.
Leah Beale in the Taunton office…
Leah Beale in the Taunton office provided an excellent service during the sales process. From start to end she was motivated, enthusiastic and energetic about doing the best for me. Her communication was excellent, going above and beyond as I live overseas. She was very efficient and effective, and made the process go very smoothly, particularly with her forward planning which I couldn’t fault. Thanks so much Leah - I really valued your personal touch.
Excellent simply delivered
Excellent simply delivered: I want to really appreciate Victoria ( Portsmouth and southsea) for the speedy and support. I needed to vacate the property I was living in due to renovation scheduled for the property. All efforts to get another property to rent were not successful. All hurdles were removed and it was very quick.

Fantastic viewing with Jack from the Crawley branch
Had a viewing with Jack from the Crawley branch yesterday. He was absolutely fantastic! Jack greeted us with a warm and welcoming manner, gave us a little local knowledge before heading in to the property. He made myself and my partner feel completely at ease and built a great repour with us straight away adding his humour and great personality to the viewing. He was super informative about the property and could answer all of our questions, we didn't feel pressured at any point which of course made the experience much more enjoyable and exciting for us. Jack made us feel super comfortable and didn’t rush us with our viewing and was professional throughout. Thoroughly enjoyable experience looking for our first home. Great asset to the company, Thankyou Jack!

On going rental problem with poor customer service.
I rented a property in Portsmouth and moved in 2023 and the process was smooth and fantastic but few months after moving in, it has been from one challenge to the other. I have complained overtime with no follow up and feed back from the property management team until you follow up. This is my third month on the reoccurring issue with my second /third time of reporting it.

The brighton branch
The brighton branch, has taken 2 years to get my dad's flat sold after he died. Recommended to sale the flat at auction by Ray Murphy, that fell through after months of trying to get it sold, then went down the normal route. This all starts out fine ,in 2022,then had two more offer ,these were not satisfactory, finally had an offer in August 2024 which has taken 5 months of us chasing to get over the line. Alfie is the person not to take at his word as this was only what he thought we wanted to hear. Never use fox&sons. Sonia collins

Right from the initial viewing Toby and his team acted professionally and helped our purchase go as smoothly as possible, highly recommended and would definitely use again.
I do not recommend Fox & Sons
The Hove office handled my mortgage four years ago. I had to pay a fee which I was told told was a lifetime fee for future services.
The original agent I dealt with did an excellent job but has since left so I was left with Jack who called to remind me of my re-mortgage and incorrectly deduced that it was due a year earlier than it was.
No matter, fast forward to this year and I'm told I need to download an identity/security app, Credas, send a bunch of paperwork and payslips in order to get my mortgage going.
A couple of days later. he says there will be a delay because my name, Francis, brought up questions. *Shrug*
Having heard nothing for a few days, I sent a reminder asking for updates.
I got an email back saying due to "certain circumstances, they were unable to find a lender and they could no longer help"
No explanation, no further feedback. That "lifetime fee" I paid sure came in handy eh?
I wouldn't use F&S again if they paid me.
Seamless experience
I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience with Abbey Northway at Fox & Sons! From the moment we began working together, Abbey’s extraordinary professionalism and commitment to excellence shone through. What sets Abbey apart is her meticulous attention to detail—she left no stone unturned in ensuring my property was presented flawlessly. Her insight and expertise were invaluable, making the entire process feel effortless.
Abbey’s communication is truly unparalleled. She kept me informed at every stage, consistently going above and beyond to ensure I felt supported and confident. Her proactive updates and prompt responses were a breath of fresh air, transforming what can often be a stressful process into an incredibly smooth and transparent journey.
But what truly makes Abbey a standout agent is her warm, kind, and compassionate nature. She didn’t just treat me as a client; she treated me with genuine care and respect. Her empathy and understanding are rare qualities that made this experience not just successful but genuinely enjoyable.
The results speak for themselves: Abbey sold my property in under three months—an achievement that exceeded all my expectations! Her dedication, expertise, and relentless commitment to achieving the best outcome are nothing short of extraordinary.
If you’re looking for an estate agent who will go above and beyond, Abbey Northway is simply the best. She’s a true gem in the industry, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Abbey, for your phenomenal service and for making this process an absolute pleasure!

Persistant phone calls
My complaint is directed at the Hastings branch after repeated requests to be taken off there phone list I still receive calls and after reading other reviews this is not an isolated case to this branch. Also I've had there number blocked for over a year. Rest assured if I ever put my property on the market I most definitely won't be using Fox and Sons.
