Questionable Accessibility Standards For Font Size and Weight
Horrible online format! Font on test is too small. Cannot possibly meet any kind of accessibility standard. I am over 45 and needed my glasses to see the screen. Unfortunately, I had left them out of the room because of all the set up requirements prior to the exam. The font was too small and too fine to see clearly and they would not allow me to get my glasses to complete the exam, The "proctor" aka some dude in India, told me to adjust the font and there was no such way to do so. So, basically I threw away $350 for an exam I had to quit because the font was not accommodating. Also, I mumble and talk to myself sometimes and they told me I could not do that that I would have needed an accommodation. I was AT HOME so i would NOT have been disrupting other testers. Nonsense.
AWS SAP exam aborted without starting
After the system test successfully completed, I took a photograph of myself and my passport, supplied it and clicked next. Upon that the window closed by itself and I got final survey!!!! The support couldn't help me to check in again, it just said "something went wrong". Well, the guys from pearsonvue opened a ticket for. So did the AWS support. I am really angry.
If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. I made an account through Certiport and purchased my exam voucher for the Adobe Premiere Pro exam. I couldn't even get to the testing portal! It kept saying that it was unable to access my information, but it was all clearly there on my profile. I called the customer support line for both Certiport and Pearson VUE, they just kept bouncing me back and forth. No one knew what to do, and they kept asking for an Adobe Canidate ID (Which doesn't exist). I spent 4 hours trying to take the test that I paid $150 for and it never happened. There was no refund either. Every time I gave them my email address they said there was no account but I was clearly logged in on my screen. I studied hard for a month only to be scammed out of $150 with no clear explanation at all. Pearson is a complete joke and should be shut down!
Pearson is the worst and we have no other choices!!
I am writing this review from a test taken on May, 23rd 2025. I passed all the pre-computer checks (video, mic check, internest speed) and my internet was running fine. About 60 questions into the test, my proctor messaged me through chat and said he lost connection and needed to restart my test and that my test would restart at the question I ended on. The restart happened and I was able to continue my test. I got to question 70 and my test competely stopped. The screen said, "Thank you for taking an online proctored exam with Onvue." In a blue box below this, it said your proctor has closed your test window and for further assistance the screen gave me a link to click on. When I clicked on the link, it took me to a page that was not working. So I looked up Pearson's website and started a chat with an agent. During this time, my webcam still has a light on indicating I am still connected to Pearson. The agent tells me that the proctor reported an issue with the video and tried to contact me. Which is not true. Before the test begins, it asks for a cell number to contact during the test if anything goes wrong. I had no missed phone call or text from the proctor. The chat service agent said he will forward my case to a superior team and they will email me with a resolution. My webcam is still on as well and connected, proving the issue is not with me, but the proctor.
I wait for an email that came on May 27th, and stated
"Dear Pearson VUE Candidate, We are aware that you were unable to complete your Foundations of Reading on May 23, 2025. Please reach out to your testing program to see if you are eligible for a voucher. "
I called the phone number listed and the woman I spoke with said I need to send an email to Pearson explaining my situation and ask for a voucher through email.
The whole test process has been a nightmare. I have already taken the FORT test in Utah (FORT 809) and it was proctored, so I did it right that time and I know what is required. I also passed my first exam in November of 2024. I am now certified in Arizona and they require teachers to take the FORT 109 test. Since the code is different than Utah's, I have to take it again per Arizona Department of education. So I sign up AGAIN, studied for two months AGAIN, start taking the test AGAIN, and 70 questions into the test, it gets canceled, and not for anything I did wrong as proven by my webcam being connected well after the test was cancelled by the Pearson proctor. Not to mention the run around I have recieved through the whole process and being sent to many different departments and waiting for emails. Now I am going to have to register, study and take a test for the 3rd time, which is extremely frustrating!
BEWARE!
BEWARE! I've never dealt with such an incompetent company before. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Through their Pearson MindHub Certiport, I ordered a bunch of BrainBuffet eCourses and Practice Tests. Their directions to book exams just go in circles and there was no way to book them, the vouchers they gave me to redeem my BrainBuffet eCourse, don't work, to redeem my practice tests, the links they give are to broken pages that don't work. For months now I've been trying to get them to either refund me or give me all the goods I've paid for. They haven't been able to do it and it takes weeks to reply to emails, and when they do reply, they just say go to this link and redeem your exam, taking me to some other site that they never gave before and I can't login to because I don't have an account, and they completely ignore that I don't have access to any of the other things I've purchased from them. I'm now in the process to reporting them through Trading Standards!
Pearson VUE should be ashamed. Systemic failure of service and accountability.
My experience with Pearson VUE has been nothing short of a nightmare. After months of diligent preparation, time blocked from work, and emotional investment in my licensure journey, two of my scheduled exams were cancelled due to technical issues on Pearson’s end. Both times, I sat through the entire check-in process only to have the exam fail to load. There was no available support before or during the exam — no live help, no functioning support desk, just silence.
To make matters worse, Pearson’s response was an “escalated ticket” that would take 2–4 business days just to be reviewed. That kind of delay is completely unacceptable when you are dealing with high-stakes, career-critical exams. Candidates are left in limbo while Pearson shrugs off responsibility and offers no real-time assistance or resolution.
This is not an isolated inconvenience — it is a systemic failure of service and accountability.
I am pleading with the National Counseling Boards and other credentialing bodies: Please reconsider your partnership with Pearson VUE. Your candidates deserve a reliable, responsive, and professional testing environment. Pearson VUE is not delivering that. Their platform is unstable, their support is nonexistent, and their customer service lacks the urgency and empathy necessary for high-pressure licensure exams.
We need a proctoring service that respects the enormous time, energy, and cost invested by future professionals. Pearson VUE has failed us — repeatedly. It is time for our professional boards to demand better.
Where our choices!?
if I had to make a bet on which US company is controlled by North Korea, I would bet everything i have on Pearson VUE. These people SUUUCK
The PearsonVue client is crap
I tried to take an exam twice!
3 computer brand new used and each time i was blocked by no reason during the opening of exam.
One time cause of TaskManager that seems to be open when it wasn't (how can you close taskManager without using taskmanager??).
Hard to reschedule the exam i had to write an email at pearsonvuecustomersupport AT services.pearson.com
(hope it helps someone).
I made almost 7/8 exam in the last 5 year without having any issue but not something seems to be broken...
Absolutely Ridiculous Experience
Absolutely Ridiculous Experience – Amazon Should Be Embarrassed
I took the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam from home through OneVue, and it was a complete disaster.
After many studying days, struggling to find a quiet room in a library, and going through their painfully long verification process, the exam didn’t even load. All I got was an error message and then a blank white screen. Their "support" had no clue what was happening and just told me to restart my PC. Wow, genius troubleshooting!!!
Of course, restarting didn’t help. Same error. Same useless white screen. And the best part? They said they don’t know what the problem is or even if it would work on another day.
Seriously? This is a multi-billion-dollar tech company, and they deal with a company that can't figure out where the issue is coming from?
What kind of system throws a generic error without any proper error handling or logging?
And the funny part they say this problem might be from your side! How so? I passed all of your check-in exams, and when trying to reveal the questions, I get an error message "Something went wrong, please try again" Hehehe, this obviously is not from my side, and it is a server-side error. Even beginner programmers know how to catch and log errors properly.
This was just pathetic. I wasted my time, energy, and effort for absolutely nothing, and they couldn’t even give me a real answer...
If I could give it a 0 I would
If I could give it a 0 I would. I don't understand how they are still in business with all these one star reviews, it makes no sense whatsoever. I went to take my reading assessment and they made me completely clear my desk (of which was just some paintings and stuffies) and then proceeded to make me move my laptop all over the room to ensure everything was "correct". Suffice it to say they stressed me out before starting an exam that I was already stressed out about. And then when I went to take my math test a few hours later I had pencils, blank paper, a pencil sharpener, and a calculator on my desk, that was all. And they told me I couldn't take the test with those. They said I had to use the digital paper and calculator that they provided. I have ADHD, I can't do that kind of work on a computer. I honestly don't know who could. The proctor refused to move me through to the test without removing it. I just had him remove me from the test because I couldn't be successful in the test without being able to write out the equations. Literally left me in tears. I spent weeks studying for this exam. Even my middle school students can have a pen, paper, and calculator on their state tests. This is ridiculous! They can also have food and go to the bathroom during the test, something else this stupid VUE thing doesn't allow you to do. They are absolutely atrocious. Shame on them, and shame on the Washington Education system for using them.
If i could give 0 stars i would..
If i could give 0 stars i would... Pearson VUE is the most dysfonctional examination center/system on the planet, and somehow they got the monopoly on remote examinations... If you can avoid them then do, but its likely you cannot, therefore you will have to suffer... Good luck waging war against them to get anything done right...
Just a terrible experience all together!
Just a terrible experience all together. After running multiple tests on my computer at the time of testing it would not get through the test and I missed my exam after taking time off work and studying. It is almost impossible to find a number or way to get in contact with them in the moment. When you do finally talk to someone (I have spoken to multiple people) they do not speak English well at all and it is so hard to understand. The message back to me is too bad. Then they would not let me reschedule for the same day because of a system issue not allowing two exams on the same day. Probably one of the most frustrating experience you can have with an exam. It is so stressful just to get checked in and by the time the exam starts you are so flustered that it is tough to refocus. I wish my state did not use this service and I will be writing to my state representative to recommend changing companies.
Caused me to miss my exam after…
Caused me to miss my exam after studying and taking time off work due to “open applications on my computer” even though i ran multiple tests before and was fine. A notification would just pop up right before my exam and say “hmm this is unusual make sure you are signed out of VPNs” that i do not have. I had to reschedule but not sure if i’ll be completing this test, as the online exam centre is a rip off. Waste of money.
Their Proctors lie
As with many of these reviews. The proctor lied about me being on screen and ended my test. I have already filed complaint.
worst service
I pay almost 1200 euro for exams and when i have a question they do everything to hide there contactdetails. I would expect some service. Besides that the application says i have usb storage device plugged in which i havent. So they make their faulty software my problem.
Follow the proctors instructions
Follow the proctors instructions? That will get disqualified. My test was disqualified before I even started because I followed the proctors advice that I could grab my Diet Coke. I did, she said “Did you just get up to get your drink?”. “Yes like we discussed. Here it is”
“Ok thanks for confirming, your text is over”
It’s infuriating!
Vue Pearson online
Vue Pearson online. Failed to sit a CIMA MCS Case study yesterday. UK based. Did all the computer checks many times last week and also in the days leading up. On the day couldn't enter, then problems with phone camera, no button to take the photo. It's apparently a known issue, I've since found out. Time ran out. Can't book again for 3 months. Cried. So sad.
Technical failures without a solution
I tried to have an online proctored exam, I checked and double checked all the settings in my computer both days before the exam and right before the check-in. I went through most of the steps ok with some hiccups but at the 89% progress point, the app claimed that there is a problem with my camera and could not continue. I double checked all settings, my internet connection, permissions to the camera, the firewall, etc. All of it, but nothing worked.
Contacted support and told me to close the app, download it and try again. By the time I tried to do that, the check-in window had already closed. They rescheduled it but I have a feeling it's not going to work. No explanations about what could have gone wrong, you just have to try again and see what happens.
My question is, why all the technical pre-checks if once you try the check-in you have different failures? There's no point in checking if once you do the exam you get a different error that you could not have foreseen.
Very bad experience.
Session got terminated out of nowhere
My session got terminated out of nowhere. The proctor said I moved away from the camera but I was in front of my seat the whole time. It was just some slight movement that did not get captured by the camera. Ridiculous. A rip off from your work.
Most horrible experience ever
Most horrible experience ever! The system wasn't able to launch the exam and made me try three times without a solution. After the third time the support didn't even respond anymore.
