Pearson VUE is ABSOLUTELY the worst
Pearson VUE is ABSOLUTELY the worst. They are very unprofessional & don’t care about people, especially people with learning disabilities. A couple of years ago I was scheduling my test my online. Soon after that I realized people with learning disabilities have to take their test at a testing center if they’d like to utilize their extra time. At that point I had no option but to take my exam at a testing center.
This is just the start of all the problems. All the customer service employees who answer the phone speak so fast it’s almost impossible to understand what they are saying. It feels like to don’t care at all.
When I was trying to schedule my exam at a testing center they said over the phone they can’t grant me any accommodations until I all my accommodation paperwork email it to the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for my EMT exam. At that point I waisted another hour on the phone. 2 week later I heard back from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and they received my accommodations paperwork & have approved my accommodations.
At that point I had a feeling the next go around with scheduling my test will be a lot better but I was absolutely wrong. I called a third time trying to schedule my exam & explained to them that the NREMT has approved my accommodations paperwork & I’m allowed to use them for my exam, but Pearson Vue said we still can’t give you your accommodations.
You need to get the National Registry to get in contact with Pearson Vue and then Pearson Vue will look at the accommodation paperwork & grant you your accommodations. At this point I feel like I’m a constant loop hole running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Now I had to get in touch with NREMT and explain the situation about 4-5 days went by and finally got a response from the NREMT saying Pearson Vue has accepted your accommodation paperwork.
Then I call for a fourth time trying to schedule my test and say that I’d like to schedule my EMR exam with my extra time and a quiet room only and not have a reader. Then the customer service said they come together as one they can’t be split apart. They said if you have a quiet room you have to have a reader, and if you have a reader you have to have a quiet room.
With my accommodations I’m allowed to use any accommodations I want at that time and not use certain testing accommodations if i’d like. At this point I’m extremely irritated they keep repeating themselves and they said the only person who can take the reader off my accommodations paperwork and have a quiet room and extra time is the manager.
At that point i called the all the different people out for lying when they said that they can’t be separated. When the lady just said the manager can do that and take the reader off. I never wanted a reader and it felt like they didn’t care. At that point I was really irritated and hung up on them i got no help or answers. About a week and a half later I call again run into the same issues. I was at my breaking point and got the examination specialist from the national registry.
The NREMT talked to the case manager at Pearson Vue & all of a sudden Pearson Vue let me have a quiet room & no reader. Pearson Vue said they’ll keep everything on file so I wouldn’t have to go through all this again. Two years went by and I was scheduling my EMT exam. I called had to verify certain information. I explained what had happened about 2 years ago with the constant troubles & problems getting certain accommodations.
I told the lady i’m not playing y’alls games again and that i’d like my extra time, quiet room, & no reader. This time a lady answered with the exact same thing reader quiet room 1 accommodation we can’t break them apart. I said that’s a bull shit lie for my EMR exam after 1.5 months of arguing i was able to get a quiet room & no reader & that the only person that can split those two accommodations is the manager. I even told them they aren’t 1 accommodation Pearson doesn’t want to put in the extra work and satisfy the customers. Even the NREMT examiner said i was write they are two completely different accommodations. She finally talked to her manager i thought things would keep getting better but they didn’t. She said i would be on hold for 5 minutes and was on hold for about 1 hour. The lady on the phone said we have some stuff the date you took the stuff but we don’t have all your accommodations paperwork. At that point i was pissed & said goodbye. About 2 weeks go by & I try calling again. Ran into the exact same problem. even read emails sent back & forth from the NREMT they still refused to let me not have a reader. I was pissed & raised my voice & told the guy i know your lying the phone went silent & i said get your manager & she said the same thing everyone else did. then finally after begging she let me have a quiet room, extra time & no reader.
Customer Diservice
The colleague I spoke with - Auberon - could not have been more unhelpful. I sent my name four times, and each time they would send a response like "We need your full account name for verification" without even telling me that the name I had given them wasn't working.
At one point, I asked if there was even a sentient human on the other end of the chat.
After sending my name maybe six times I sent a sarcastic comment like "finally, well done" and they cut the call.
Now I shouldn't have been sarcastic but this person was obtuse and trying to get under my skin or that is just how they are trained.
Scam
Scam! I was turned away from the Croydon Test centre for allegedly having introduced UK as citizenship country at booking (I was booking a test for the citizenship application...). However, the candidate right after me made a mistake in her passport number and has been allowed to pass her test, the operator made the change right in front of me with a smirk on her face. Pure discrimination and thief. Don't go there!

Liars and scammers…. Not even completed question 1 and I was accused of looking at my phone…. My phone was not even in the room! I was then kicked straight out. I will not be using them again I would rather sit in a cold dark damp room! Not trustworthy! There is no possible way that they could believe that I was using my phone within the matter of 2 mins.

OnVue is engaging in fraudulent practices and has scammed an EU resident.
I am a resident of Poland and have been living here for many years. Right before the start of the exam, I was asked to present my ID. I showed my Belarusian passport. The proctor immediately ended the exam without any explanation and didn’t even ask me to show another ID. Later, the support team claimed the issue was that they couldn’t verify my identity. But this was a blatant lie — in their next message, they admitted that the real reason was my nationality. This is absolutely appalling. I never imagined that the color of my skin could be the reason for someone to simply take my money away. I explained that I am a legal resident of Poland, that I have a valid Polish ID, and that they have no right to treat people this way — it is essentially theft. OnVue refused to refund my payment or let me retake the exam. I have never encountered such an outrageous level of unprofessionalism and discrimination. I will escalate this to higher authorities and demand compensation for the damage caused.

I wish I could give them negative starts. Pearson Vue's website is plagued by frequent maintenance downtime, making it impossible to schedule exams or access services when needed. Their customer service is unresponsive and unhelpful. The software and technology used are outdated and low-quality, with no support for Chrome OS users. To make matters worse, their management prioritizes new payments over existing customers, resulting in lost money and frustration. Until they address these issues, I'd advise against using their services.
Screwed By Pearson OnVue
Prepared for 2 months for my Security+. I originally scheduled it for a week ago, but got sick the day before and rescheduled. Logged in to find they’d never rescheduled me and marked me as a now show. Took a couple days to get them to issue my voucher back. The second test, It took 30 minutes to get into the test and within a minute or 2 realized I had my AppleWatch on. The proctor noticed it and said i had to take it off, reschedule or they would revoke me. that i all i read. Apparently, you cant leave the webcam view even for a 1 second (which was how long it took to put my watch down. They said out of reach. You cant get out of reach without leaving frame and I’m not sliding a $1000 watch across a table to fall on the floor.) After I sat back down, i showed my writs, no watch and was released back to the rest. About 4-5 minutes later, they closed the test on me abruptly stating I’d fail the test because i left frame. I want to be clear, i left frame to fulfill a request of the proctor. I did not see anything about doing it without leaving frame. Is there no way to pause a test? They’ve already asked me to scan the room with the computer if ive left or leaned out of frame before. This isn’t an iPad or MacBook Pro with center stage, it was a cheap acer laptop. I find the stringent and harsh enforcement of lets be honest, a very, very simple mistake. Simply saying ‘YOU AGREED!’ Is insufficient and doesn’t address the nuance of the situation. I have filled a complaint with the state attorney generals office, as well as reached out to my family’s lawyer. It was recommended that I post this, to share the experience and do not recommend working with Pearson. Use the in-person if you’re going to risk your money and time with them. I really, really do not recommend or trust them. They seem to set you up to get t-boned by rules. Unscrupulous, hair-splitting nonsense. Read every last line of the 12 pages of fine print before you book anything. They will screw you over the tiniest infraction. Even if you forget you’re wearing your watch because their app needs 30 minutes of technical support before you can even take your test. Keep in mind, this was not my first test. However, it was the first time it’d cost me $425. Last time i will do business with them.

I schedule an exam for 7/7/25 appx a month earlier. On the day of the exam, they had no record of my scheduled exam. I had to reschedule it for 7/9/25. There’s was only one time available which was 5:45am. I made sure that I was able to use the 30min pre test time frame to register/test computer etc. At appx 5:45am a greeter spoke to me through my lap top and let me know that everything was working and I was in a queue and to wait on my proctor. I sat there for EVER waiting. The image on the screen never changed, no one ever got on, initiated anything nor made their presence known. I figured something went wrong. They instruct you to make sure that you have a phone in the room that you can be reached on, so eventually I leaned back in my chair and touched my phone screen to see the time, it was 6:44am. I turned back around and immediately in the chat box the “proctor” messaged me asking was I finished with the exam. I messaged back that I’ve been waiting for an hour and it hasn’t even started yet. They responded that because I touched a device that wasn’t allowed to be touched my exam was terminated and the idiot terminated my exam.
1. they were just there watching me for an hour, didn’t say one word or start the test.
2. this unprofessional employee knew damn well that I hadn’t even been introduced to the exam testing page. It’s totally a shared screen.
3. The abruptness and totally disrespectful manner in which they terminated the exam and left off contact was unacceptable.
I immediately complained and they said they would escalate that matter. My voucher at this time it lost and it’s. Allied at over $400.
This place is a joke. Find somewhere else to take your exam. Horrible company!!!
Extremely trash interface and useless…
Extremely trash interface and useless indians support, i could not connect to the exam even tho i "simulated" it before 3 times and worked flawlessly and when the 30 minutes of check-ups ended, my code did not work anymore, but luckily i managed to reschule it in the following day

Incompetent Customer Service & Website
Sadistic, nasty, incompetent customer service. They would not allow me to reschedule my exam due to an emergency. Although I spoke to 2 live agents, in which the call quality on their end was so terrible I could barely understand them, they 'escalated' the issue. Told me to "email the reason for the reschedule" to an email address provided to me. Which I asked them why should I even have to do that since they supposedly got it escalated and the supervisor started fumbling over his words and was clearly trying to find words to support his lies. I emailed the address they provided anyways, and to NO SURPRISE I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE.
Anyway, When I tried to make another appointment on their website, no matter what location I pick to make another exam appointment and the time, it tells me they can't accept my payment method. Called customer support and tried to schedule through them and the appointment times I wanted were nonexistent smfh. But she had no problem trying to take my payment while not even providing a reason as to why their website was acting buggy & when or IF it'd be fixed. Long story short after much frustration I got my appointment scheduled and passed my exam. I would NEVER recommend an exam through Pearson to ANYONE, if it can be helped!!!

I contacted the accommodations team…
I contacted the accommodations team twice and felt disrespected regarding my disabilities. The representative, Ashley, repeatedly asked me to spell my name and referred to one letter as 'dumb' or something similar, which I found highly disrespectful. I have ADHD and anxiety, and I feel this individual took advantage of my disabilities to offend me. I kindly request to speak with a different representative moving forward with my application
The worst experience doing SC-200
I won a Microsoft SC-200 voucher from the last AI Skills Fest over these last 3 months. I was so amazed, because it is the first time i got something for free of a big company and i studied during 2 months for the exam.
In the check-in all was good, but before they release my exam 3 proctors called me and they that i have no camera feed, but i explained to them that i can see a red dot with the word "recording" in my screen. Mi internet was good, overall 300mbps of download / 100 upload.
The last proctor cancelled the exam, without warning, and she wrote in the chat "you have 4 hours to reschedule, i cannot release the exam because you have issues with your internet". Sadly, my exam was scheduled to june 19th, the voucher expired on june 21st, but the proctor didnt read me, and close the connection. Ive tried pearson vue support with no avail, and later in some forums i realize that pearson vue uses wowza.cloud.com, more exactly a rstp connection, and doing some tests by 1935 port, it has high latency, and sometimes the connection drops. Ive almost checked all the possibilities before my exam, 3 weeks ago tested the onvue apps and i didnt have any issues. This is by far the worst experience that i have in a certification and hope microsoft, cisco and fortinet change the exam provider. Literally i got scammed and it feels this is wrong :/

I am extremely disappointed with the way Pearson VUE handled my exam. Due to a technical issue on your side, my exam was cancelled and I was simply told to reschedule it for another time — as if my time and effort were irrelevant.
This response was completely unempathetic and unprofessional. There was no accountability, no real support, and no recognition of the stress and disruption this caused. The lack of basic human decency and concern for candidates is alarming, especially for a company that plays such a critical role in people’s careers.

Absolute garbage software
Absolute garbage software. I went to a testing center. The center had just updated their PV software. It wouldn't connect. The center was having a hard time getting PV to troubleshoot and help resolve the issue.y exam voucher was cancelled and refunded. I called to see if I could get the voucher reinstated and allow me to reschedule. I was told to go to Microsoft to repurchase and reschedule my exam. The customer service was garbage as it was outsourced and the support personnel were hard to understand. Why are companies still using PV?
The calendars at several test centers…
The calendars at several test centers have not been updated pass 7/2. I called the 800 number, after holding for an incredible amount of time, i had to verify who i was by answering an obnoxious number of questions - I ask you, does it matter who I am in order for Pearson to tell me whether the calendars are up to date? I never got an answer. I attempted to use the "chat with us" and again, verify verify verify - got disconnected - no answer. Incredible
They "certify" Testing Centers that don't even support the exam
I had a test at one of their "certified" testing centers. Well not really, because after driving 40 minutes there and waiting for over an hour (past the start of the exam) for them to troubleshoot, they realized that their computers could not run the exam and kicked me to the curb.
I tried calling Pearson to reschedule and was on hold for over 2 hours before the call disconnected. Tried for another hour after that and gave up, as far as I can tell they do not have anyone employed to actually answer the phone.
I have four days to take this exam or wait until it's offered again in December and will now have to take off more work and deal with this whole mess again.
