Review of Pearson VUE

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Pearson is the worst and we have no other choices!!

I am writing this review from a test taken on May, 23rd 2025. I passed all the pre-computer checks (video, mic check, internest speed) and my internet was running fine. About 60 questions into the test, my proctor messaged me through chat and said he lost connection and needed to restart my test and that my test would restart at the question I ended on. The restart happened and I was able to continue my test. I got to question 70 and my test competely stopped. The screen said, "Thank you for taking an online proctored exam with Onvue." In a blue box below this, it said your proctor has closed your test window and for further assistance the screen gave me a link to click on. When I clicked on the link, it took me to a page that was not working. So I looked up Pearson's website and started a chat with an agent. During this time, my webcam still has a light on indicating I am still connected to Pearson. The agent tells me that the proctor reported an issue with the video and tried to contact me. Which is not true. Before the test begins, it asks for a cell number to contact during the test if anything goes wrong. I had no missed phone call or text from the proctor. The chat service agent said he will forward my case to a superior team and they will email me with a resolution. My webcam is still on as well and connected, proving the issue is not with me, but the proctor.
I wait for an email that came on May 27th, and stated
"Dear Pearson VUE Candidate,  We are aware that you were unable to complete your Foundations of Reading on May 23, 2025. Please reach out to your testing program to see if you are eligible for a voucher.  "
I called the phone number listed and the woman I spoke with said I need to send an email to Pearson explaining my situation and ask for a voucher through email.
The whole test process has been a nightmare. I have already taken the FORT test in Utah (FORT 809) and it was proctored, so I did it right that time and I know what is required. I also passed my first exam in November of 2024. I am now certified in Arizona and they require teachers to take the FORT 109 test. Since the code is different than Utah's, I have to take it again per Arizona Department of education. So I sign up AGAIN, studied for two months AGAIN, start taking the test AGAIN, and 70 questions into the test, it gets canceled, and not for anything I did wrong as proven by my webcam being connected well after the test was cancelled by the Pearson proctor. Not to mention the run around I have recieved through the whole process and being sent to many different departments and waiting for emails. Now I am going to have to register, study and take a test for the 3rd time, which is extremely frustrating!
