AmeriGas is not a local company, Ditch these losers
AmeriGas is not a local company, they do not have local branches and you are relegated to doing business with them via their call centers in Africa, Charlotte, NC or Cleveland, OH. When I called the local number, 502 267-5452, to set up service they sure acted local. Now that they have rescheduled my delivery 5 times in the dead of winter and I’m down below 10%, no one is local and no one can tell me what is going on. They just reschedule the delivery which is subsequently cancelled. Do yourself a favor and find a local company with a local office you can speak to who gives a crap. These guys tank will be on my curb shortly for them to pick up and be out of my life. Terrible customer service. BTW, the local location, is locked with the following message, “Out of concern for the safety and health of our employees, customers and community, we have continued to restrict walk-in traffic at this location.” But, this stuff is safe to pump into my home, or they’ve had way to many people come in fired up because of their awful business model.
DON’T DOOOO IT!!!!
Please for the love of god use another company save yourself headache and your billfold and if you do decide to use them please please please READ THE FINE PRINT especially the termination section and dispatch fee section you will have to find this on there website as it notates fees on the bill but does not disclose the actual fee cost
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. 24 minutes on hold to order propane. Did deliver within a week. Bill did not arrive for over a month, then did not show 25 cents per gallon discount we were to receive. Customer service individual was foreigner that I could hardly understand. Would change companies but there is so many charges it makes it difficult for fixed income individuals. I would advise ALL to avoid Amerigas. I've been a customer since the 80s and am treated like garbage !
Never use this company
I moved into a new home and the propane tank ran dry unexpectedly. The tank gauge was disconnected, on an Amerigas tank rented by the prior owners. This was on 1/25/25. I didn't even know it was Amerigas until I read the lid.
So I called them (overseas customer service) and requested an emergency delivery as the temp was 7 degrees, and I considered no heat or hot water, possibly freezing pipes, an emergency. She said, let's schedule a delivery, and asked for my account. I don't have one. I just moved in. She said, then we can't deliver, and I asked to set up an account. I was told I cannot do that until Monday when the office is open. They told me unless I could see fire it was not an emergency in the eyes of Amerigas. I asked for a supervisor and she said, "I have one but you can't talk to them because you are not a customer."
WHAT
So fast forward to Monday. I found a local company to purchase a tank from, they will be digging up the Amerigas tank and replacing it. I am sure they will try to bill me to pick theirs up but I don't have an account. I imagine they will go after the previous owners because they DO have an account and I don't want that to happen but this is not my problem!
Never do business with them.
I have never dealt with such…
I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life. I ordered gas on 1/21/25. I paid a $300 fee to have my delivery expedited, which I thought was usurious. As of right now, I still don't have my propane. I have called multiple times and each time I speak with someone they tell me the same thing, your propane with be delivered by the end of the day, unless things happen beyond our control. Well, the doody must have hit the ceiling at Amerigas because they can't seem to get my gas delivered.
This used to be a great company to deal with. I have had multiple residential accounts with them, and a commercial account. They used to have local offices that offered GREAT customer service. Some bean counting fool made the decision to close all of the local offices and centralize their operations. They off-shored their customer service center and it has going down-hill ever since. It took either a CPA or an attorney to make this kind of stupid-ass business decision.
I finally spoke to a supervisor that agreed to give me a "credit" on my account for the $300 urgent delivery fee. A credit to my account, not a refund to my card.
After I learned that my delivery would not be made until tomorrow, I really blew up at the customer service person and told her since I owned my own tanks, this would be the last time I ever spent a dime with this company.
worse propane company i have ever delt…
worse propane company i have ever delt with. They closed all local office and now you speak to someone in a foreign country. They have no customer support and they can never help you.
As for there pricing they are a rip off they sucker you in with a low price then the next thing your paying tank rental and your price is hiked to 4.99 a gallon (price gouging) then they delay service call calls and gas deliveries
hey set a date to pick up tanks and did not show
I’ve waited more than 2 weeks for gas…
I’ve waited more than 2 weeks for gas that I’ve already paid for .. including I had a leakage and there just now fixing it was told I would get a refund and still haven’t this is one of the worse companies I do not recommend
DO NOT USE AMERIGAS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised Amerigas has the worst possible rating you could get on Trust Pilot. It's only a 1 star because 0 stars isn't an option.
DO NOT USE AMERIGAS! let me say it again...
DO NOT USE AMERIGAS!
It would be impossible for me to overstate how incredibly bad they are in every single category, so I'll just leave it at this... Even if you sign up for auto delivery and they put a sensor on your tank, YOU WILL run out of propane repeatedly. If you rely on propane as your primary heat, you will suffer if you use this company.
UPDATE: It’s been two months since I request requested they remove their tank. They acknowledged they would. The tank is still sitting here, and nobody is responding to my request to have it removed.
I have no idea how this company stays in business.
Do not use Amerigas!
Terrible company. Terrible customer service. Deliveries are not reliable. Twice the price per gallon as others and all kinds of hidden fees on top of that. They stopped doing service to appliances so now you have to find a plumber when your furnace has issues.
Once you rent their tank, the charges to have them take it back are outrageous! Billed me for services not rendered!
Go with a local small or family owned business!
Prepaid for filling of 320gal and 120…
Prepaid for filling of 320gal and 120 gal tanks in august. Finally showed up New Years Day with 100gal only. Sent me an invoice for emergency delivery and tank rentals less than two weeks later. Called to dispute invoice, told them to remove their tanks from my property. Three months later I moved the tanks beside the road which they refused to pickup. FOUR years later I gave them to a scraper. Never finished delivery of the prepaid order from August and 4 yrs later submitted collections. ARM Solutions. They bought out the company I was using. Not my choice!
They were good 20 years ago but don't even look at them now.
They were good 20 years ago. But since their
customer no service has been routed overseas
you can not get any help. The prices kept going higher and higher and the service kept going down. It cost me right at $2500 to discontinue my service and take their tank away. $420 of it was to pick up the tank. I told them I would bring it to them but they said no.
Do not use Amerigas they are terribleuld this…
If I could give 0 stars I would this company is absolutely horrific and does not care about their customers in the slightest. I have been waiting for propane for the last 12 days I am at 10% and they have told me since last Thursday granted this is Wednesday that they are on their way and they have never showed up finally they show up yesterday and send me a message that say they cannot deliver because of the driveway. Very minimal snow was left I was driving up-and-down the driveway and a 2 wheel drive vehicle. I have to keep my heat on 58 and use space heaters. I am unable to cook because my stove is gas. The customer service is horrific they don't apologize for anything and you sit on hold for anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes to get anyone to even talk to you. If you're looking for gas I highly recommend you go elsewhere.
I have a friend who does owe a bill…
I have a friend who does owe a bill they applied for assistance and in the process ran out of gas. The company refused to deliver until bill paid in full. They are rude and just don't give a damn had to find someplace for my children to go. with temperatures going down to 1 degree. They should be shut down.
Awful
Awful. They can’t tell you where their drivers are and then they don’t show up at all.
3 day window for delivery?
3 day window for delivery? Even the cable company gives you 4 hour window.
Then cancel delivery on the 3rd day?
Horrible customer service as well.
The worst ever
The worst ever. I have a monthly payment program with them wherein I pay a set amount for propane all year, so that I don't get billed huge amounts in the winter. Recently, the company began charging both my monthly amount and billing me for deliveries. You can't resolve anything online. Do not give them your checking account info. They are supposedly calling me back, I'll believe it when I see it. Also, they left us without propane over thanksgiving! As an update, no one has called me back. Can’t wait to dump these guys when it gets warm! AS an update, someone finally came to fix the frozen valve and reported that "we might as well replace it." Didn't mention there would be a fee of close to $600. The guy was here for 30 mins. I actually don't think he probably knew they would do that, since it is not the local people that are the problem but the billing pirates.
Gas tank vending at Walmart
Gas tank vending at Walmart. Took my card looked like everything was fine. Heard a click. All doors were locked. Service number wouldn’t pick up. Walmart employees couldn’t hep. No internet service to see if I was charged. Found opened door when I returned. Put my empty tank inside. Door locked , now it’s stole my exchange tank! My phone still ringing for help drove home ! 33 three minutes later Indian accent answered. Said he could open manually to retrieve my tank and voided my charge pending on my card. Maybe next time help line will answer and I can get my exchange empty tank. Ya think? One arm bandit machine!
Just what you’d expect from a large…
Just what you’d expect from a large corporation that really doesn’t care about anything other than their bottom line. Predatory practices and price gouging. As a matter of fact, you could look at all of these companies as monopolies. There is very little choice and zero choice for electricity. Any company that will hold your livelihood hostage for a $300 emergency delivery fee, especially in the winter, And during your delivery timeframe is a crime. After five years, this will be my last year using this dumpster fire of a company.
Amerigas has a predatory business practice
Amerigas has a predatory business practice. Takes eight to ten eleven days to deliver after they take your money. They prolong the delivery so they charge you 300 dollars for emergency delivery. This usually happens in winter when you need gas.
