This company doesn’t even deserve one star. I ordered my daughter’s costume October 3rd, right after it was restocked and while it was still showing as in stock. I even paid extra to make sure it arrived by October 16th.
By October 11th, the tracking still hadn’t moved, so I emailed to check in. They told me it was out of stock and that since I didn’t email sooner, I couldn’t get it — even though I ordered when it was clearly available. Then they changed their story and said it was actually on its way but would just be two days late.
Two days before that new date, I emailed again because tracking still hadn’t updated, and they told me the order was lost and that I’d get a refund within 21 days.
So basically, they took my money, gave me three different stories, and now I’m left without a costume a week before Halloween. Terrible customer service, zero accountability, and no urgency to make things right. I’ll never order from them again.

I would give zero stars if I could. I purchased a costume online to pick up at the store. They only held it a couple of days and then cancelled my order. However, they never refunded me. I had to call and spend over an hour on the phone waiting and talking to an agent who ended up having to refund me on PayPal although I paid with my Visa card. Will never shop there again, period.

This is the second year I order from them and pay the extra shipping for my costumes to be here on time, and they don't arrive on time, or by the day they're supposed to arrive. What am I paying extra shipping cost for.

I wonder in what universe kids go from a size xl in kids (12-16) to an adult medium. It's impossible to pick a themed costume for a tween. My 12 year old is so disappointed. Perhaps this is an age when kids can get less interested, but mine is still very much a child and I like it that way. We went through Poppy Playtime disappointment, Amazing Digital Circus disappointed, then FNAF disappointment before giving up. He nearly cried. Do better. If it's out of your direct control, advocate for your customers. You ruined our Halloween spirit 😮💨.

Ordered a costume online Friday October 3, 2025.
The website indicated my local store in Canada. My address given is Canadian. Tax rate charged was the HST rate. At no point in the transaction did it indicate that it was a USD transaction.
I saw the FX charge appear on my credit card today for a much higher amount then what I would pay at the nearby store. I try but could not cancel my order through my emailed order or anywhere on the website. I called the 1-866-580-5819 number. Two reps said, after an hour and a half, that even though the item has not been received by the shipper (not shipped), they cannot cancel the order.
It was recommended that I email them at: guestservices at spirithalloween dot com (have to type it since trust pilot won't allow for the proper email format). I did, the email bounced back undeliverable.
What a terrible experience. Deceptive and difficult on purpose.
Please avoid their online shopping!!

Horrible attitude and rude service from the manager 😡. Contacted corporate, they pretended to be empathetic, but at the end of the day did nothing at all. We provided all receipt information so they could check out the cameras and see exactly who the manager is that was so terrible. I encouraged them to watch the store cameras for proof of just how bad it is . I doubt they really care and won’t fix the ongoing rude service from their management.  A total waste of time contacting them

I love the Oldbridge store, it's right off the outer bridge and the employees are so positive! I had a girl Katie going back and forth with me and my son looking for costumes, I appreciated her energy and patience! It's was worth the drive.

Greenwood Indiana and Indianapolis locations are awful, they are nothing but drama. They talk poorly about others including customers, and do a bunch of he said she said games. I was always thrown into the mix, because I was treated like the messenger man. Also, communication is soooo awful, dude.. I’d reach out and be left on read and then be ridiculed for the lack of communication on their end?

Keep in mind most of the people talking down the others are GROWN ADULTS… like come on man? Aren’t we more mature than this?
I love Halloween, always will. Spirit is NOT the way to go, if seeking a temporary job at least.

Was online looking for an item I wanted to get, found said item and one other item. Saw the promo “pickup at store get a certain percentage off” so I did that. First item on order “canceled due to it not being at location” I figured bc I had gone to said location days before and didn’t see said item. Now onto second item of order, some time later get another email “item canceled (order in total canceled” same thing second item “not at location. Regardless I was gonna go to the store that day so I figured I’d see if the second item was at the store or not. We get to the store low and behold there’s 5 if not more of this item, I ordered online so that I’d get that promo and my item was canceled even though there was plenty in stock at location. I was then given a 20% off for my canceled order when here’s the joke because then if location didn’t have item id have to order online same items were gonna be $6 more then what I was originally gonna have to pay. So that 20% for my “inconvenience” of the same items didn’t mean anything.

I purchased a costume via online, only to find that it was ill-fitting so I attempted to return the item ONLY to be unable to as the return window expired ( conveniently). No worries, I actually placed another order for the correct size but ended up calling customer care to cancel when I found that I could exchange the product in store. I provided my order number only to be told "we can't see your order, call back in 1 hour to cancel. I called back and was given the standard "we are unable to make changes at this time". Of course this is just a ploy to keep your money. I even spoke to a supervisor who fed me the bs story, as I advised him that their business practices are nothing short of fraudulent and deceptive. I'm going to try this in store return/exchange and if I encounter any nonsense, I'm heading to the BBB to discuss my experience. Ridiculous!!

Returned an item and now FedEx tracking is showing error. It was a faulty $200 Gourdo and they like to back and fourth with emails. You can certainly see why they only open once a year the customer service / returns is complicated.

Always great when it opens. Pricey, but quality most of the time. Had issue with one of the jumping spiders, called and they replaced it. The location says open via google at the new location, but it is sadly not yet open. SH Website doesn't give much clarity except that it opens in this month.

Watch if you're outside the US when ordering. I just got a bill from Fedex for another $58 in shipping/duties. Nothing about that on your site. Never order again and will not recommend you! As of this review you have a 1.5 star review with 84% giving a 1 star review so it's obvious most are dissatisfied with you. Don't respond with "sorry contact us privately on our email". Just do better!

I worked here and they denied me my bonus that I worked hard for saying I only needed to meet a sales goal, which was met. So don’t ever work for this company they pick and choose who they want to screw and it was me.
