I just went to the Coquitlam store with a 20% off coupon that’s valid until October 27th. However, they insisted that the coupon period ended yesterday. I pointed out that the coupon clearly states it’s valid until the 27th, but they kept repeating that they couldn’t scan the code, didn’t know about it, and couldn’t help. In the end, I couldn’t use the coupon. I told them that, as employees, they should know why it’s not working, but they said it wasn’t their responsibility, and eventually told me to leave the store immediately. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and it’s incredibly frustrating. I will never shop at this store again.

Worst customer service on this planet.. bought a costume, paid extra for 2 day shipping. One of the costumes didn’t fit.. no where did it say you can’t return after a certain day UNTIL I checked the return page.. keep in mind that the last day for returns is almost hidden. I attempted to email them. No response. I’m reporting them to the BBB and going to claim the purchase as fraud since I can’t get anyone to help me.

Was not advertised that they don’t do exchanges after a certain time. No dressing rooms to try on anything so we have to buy it and hope for the best. Also when I called customer service, after waiting 40 minutes I was finally able to talk to someone and they hung up immediately. -1/10 experience would not recommend

My son was born with Neurological Condition called Polymicrogyria to which caused him to have Cerebral Palsy and is currently 21 months old. He may not look like he has a disability but he is deemed Medically Fragile through the state of New Mexico and receive extensive doctor care and therapy services. I walked into the Spirit Halloween to return a costume that my daughter had purchased previously as the fan was defective on her inflatable costume. When I walked in with my family, my son in his stroller, a Spirit Halloween worker with red hair at the front cashier desk informed me that I could not have my son's Diaper/Medical Bag on me. I informed her that this is his diaper bag with everything in it and he has special needs. I did not feel the need to go into detail of his disability as I thought letting her know that he has special needs would suffice. She informed me that I could not have it and shook her head no. His diaper bag is not only for his diapers for his medical supplies as well. Now, we don't always need to carry the bag when he is seemingly healthy but as of late my son has been vomiting and can choke on his vomit therefore I needed to have his appropriate supplies on had if he did. I told her he needs to have it, he's disabled. He has special needs. She then informed me to take what I needed out of the bag instead of carrying it. In the wake of the situation my daughter still needed to return her costume so I didn't want to cause a scene and left outside while her father took her to exchange it.
This situation could have been prevented had the woman listened to me about my son have Special Needs. This is illegal to deny entry into an establishment because of his diaper/medical bag. This is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act for an establishment to fail to provide reasonable accommodation to the known physical limitations of a qualified individual with a disability.

Awful. Ordered a costume on the 15th of October. Received a delivered email..stating order had delivered 9/25 in Pennsylvania-I’m in CALIFORNIA. I called customer service said it was an error with the wrong tracking number that I had to wait for it to reset and I would get another email. Called in again explained the situation customer service said what would you like me to do? UHHHH send my daughters costume would be nice. The representative said she would ship it out and I would receive a new tracking number in 30 minutes. It’s been 3 days…no costume no tracking number. Do not order from here. Getting through to someone is a nightmare…45 minutes on hold IF they call you back

Sent me the wrong costume. The costume they sent also turned out to be incomplete. They said they would send a new one but then cancelled my order because the correct item was now out of stock. At least I didn't have to pay anything for the wrong and incomplete costume they sent me.

First I made a purchase on or about October 12th. The item, a wig, was awful. I returned it and and got a refund without issue. On October 18th I purchased 4 items: 2 wigs, white knee hi stocking and white anklets. The knee Hi stockings were damaged due to the packaging. One of the wigs' adjustable hooks was ripped off. I went to return the two items October 19th. I was told "NO REFUNDS." I said, "But I just got a refund the other day."
"Yes. Our policy changed as of the 18th. It's on your receipt."
First of all, NO ONE reads the fine print of a receipt.
Second and more relevant, the receipt is not given to the customer until AFTER THE PURCHASE. Therefore, it would be essential to let them know in advance of the sudden policy change.
I also stated that surely Spirit stands behind its merchandise and if something is damaged they would give a refund. The woman looked at the damaged merchandise and lied to my face saying, "It's not damaged." I have pictures of both items. She only took pictures of the knee hi stockings. And she talked on the phone to the district manager and lied that the items were not damaged. Apparently, a "damaged" item must be ripped or filthy dirty.
I asked for the number of the Corporate Office and the District Office. She pointed to the number on the receipt, which was NOT the corporate office, or district office, nor did the poor person manning the phone have any information to offer other than to go online.

Took my 3 yr old to Spirit Halloween in Freehold NJ last weekend and he had a blast! We were there walking around and checking everything out for 1.5 hours! That was the cheapest adventure out lol. We only spent $40 for his costume. My little guy is obsessed with Halloween and Jack Skeleton. Thanks again for making my 3 yr old happy...😊

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a black panther kids costume well in advance to Halloween for my son. While shipping was quick, the costume was missing the mask, which is one of the most important parts of the costume. I called customer services the same day the item arrived to inform them of this. The first representative I spoke to on the phone told me they would try to ship out a mask as soon as possible, but had no clue how long it might take and told me to give it about five days to get a response in an email. I waited seven days and never received a response or the mask, So I called back. I was on the phone with a guy for 40 minutes who kept putting me on hold, only to come back and eventually tell me there was nothing that they could do and that because it’s such a “Hot ticket item” they didn’t have any in stock to do a re-shipment and couldn’t tell me when they would be back in stock. He said someone would call me within the next two days. I informed him that I anticipated this to happen due to the lack of confidence the first representative had telling me I would receive a mask, so I ordered one off Amazon rather than waiting until everything was sold out and my son be left with an incomplete costume. I asked if they could reimburse me for the cost of this since they could not provide me with a complete costume and at the time I called and initially they still had costumes left, just in a different size, but the mask should be the same size. He told me to ask the representative that when they called me. Guess what? No call!! They have the absolute worst customer service ever, and it makes me never want to shop online with them again. Everyone is sold out of the costumes now unless I want to pay double. I’m very disappointed I paid full price for HALF a costume and had to purchase the mask from Amazon since Spirit Halloween couldn’t give me a complete costume. Horrible way to treat a customer!!!! Next year I’ll just go through Amazon. They have way better customer service if things go wrong!

They don't ship items in a timely manner. It says it will ship within 3 business days, but it has been more than a week. I contacted costumer service and their only response is there was an issue on their end and they won't ship it rush.
Updated to add it took 20 days to receive my order. I was told by multiple reps that everything was in
1 shipment. The items arrived in 2 packages almost a week after I was told they would arrive. I ordered backup costumes with 2 day shipping and they took 3 days.

I love spirit Halloween store it has the best props in Halloween costumes it always has everything I’m looking for to do my haunted house for Halloween. They have great customer service and if they don’t have it in stores, they will look online to make sure they can get it for you. I love the above and beyond about the store and will always shop here. Well recommended.

It's very rare that I have a pleasant customer service experience over the phone and this was one of the simplest and easiest experiences I've ever had. Took my daughter into the Lacey, Washington store and she found this cute Oogie Boogie purse and so we went to check out and the register people were not the friendliest. One was in training so ok she didn't greet us or say anything, we showed her our coupon and she didn't know how to ring it up so her person training stepped in. He was awful, not polite and walked away before the register printed our reception. Like hey buddy your suppose to at least let the customer know it's ok to leave and hand the receipt over. Nope not this guy, customer service is lacking and employees seem like they just don't want to help you.

If you read my earlier review, you know that I have had a few issues with Spirit Halloween's online shopping, The store experience has been outstanding! The online and especially the customer service has been... well. crappy. This is an amendment to my earlier review, just as something goes wrong i also believe it is only fair to comment when they turn it around and do the right thing. My issue was I was waiting for a Halloween costume that was lost by Fed Ex and the CS at SH kept telling me to try back each week. (Ordered on September 25) Well, my Sons Halloween party was rapidly approaching. Thursday the 17th of October to be precise. Once they agree that there was an issue and once they decided to replace the lost costume ( I had asked for a credit so i could drive 80 miles to a SH store, but they said NO) They shipped me a new costume that I was sure would never arrive on time. Well it arrived today October 16th. So I want to say that they made it right and although I will never order online from them again, I will continue to shop in store. (The closest store is 80 miles away) So thank you SH for doing the right thing.

Spirt Halloween doesn't tell you they ship by Fed Ex and if your Canadian you will be hit with additional fees , in my case my item end in cost that double the price with customs fees.

I ordered 2 costumes over a week ago. I paid for the most expensive shipping to get them this past Monday. Monday comes and no costumes. I've called every single day about my order. I live in Pa where the shipping started. It moved 2 places in Pa then went to Ohio then sat in Denver for 3 days and it's still there. They told me today that they were moving and on the way now I just received an email saying they are delayed and still sitting in Denver. NOT IMPRESSED with the company and what is going on especially for what I paid for everything. On top of that I had to go buy 2 other costumes because we were leaving for vacation today. Still no costumes for my kids.
