Horrible customer service and return policy. I ordered my child’s costume 2 weeks ago, has been stuck in NY for 2 weeks and won’t be delivered in time. She will not wear it but I can’t even return the costume because of the dumb return policy! Called customer service 3 times and left on stand by for an hour each time just for nobody to ever pick up the phone! It’s a scam and they are robbing you. Will NEVER shop here again. Party City is so much better :)

Spent $40 on a costume for my 6 year old. He wore it once, and the seam down the side came apart while he was wearing it. I went back to the store with the receipt and the entire costume and they would not replace it. The person working at the counter lied, and said they were the manager when I asked. I then asked for a number I could call if there was no one else in the store. She said she could give me her manager’s number. I thought she was the manager. When I called her out she said she could give me the general manager’s number. I pulled out my receipt and a pen and asked her to write it down. At that point she said she could no longer give me her general manager’s number because he “would get really pissed at” her.

They sold me half of a costume and would not give me a refund I needed the costume for work the next day and all they could offer me was a partial refund to keep the costume as is which does not work because I can’t wear half of a costume $60 wasted do not purchase from them they are robbing people

Went to Oshkosh, Wisconsin outlet on Saturday October 26, 2024. Purchased hanging clown. The customer service person didn't say a word, except the total due. I ran my card, then the rude dude told me "you are stuck with product as is, if it does not work, you are shit out of luck". at this point, I said to reverse the transaction. He said "no, all sales are final". Spirit Halloween is a scam and needs to be shut down and out of business. I hope people read these reviews and pass on the word about this shitty unprofessional business. I will be educating everyone I can. Last thing, you don't read these reviews, Spirit sends a copied template, showing they care. Yeah okay!!!

I purchased a Trick r Treat sitting Sam doll from Spirit Halloween in Lowell, MA for $85 on 10/19/24. When the item was opened on 10/27 at a Halloween themed birthday party, it was damaged and the light up pumpkin didn't work. Attempted to return to the same store, which is 40 minutes away from me, for a refund on 10/28. I was told that returns ended on 10/18 and I couldn't even exchange. The manager was rude and unhelpful and when I said I would be opening a dispute with my credit card issuer, the manager replied "Well have a nice f**king day then". She looked filthy and was very creepy, not sure if it was a costume? I turned around and noticed there were children in the store and I told her that language wasn't necessary. She then told me I was ignorant. I will NEVER shop at Spirit again and they need to hire more professional people to manage their stores. I attempted to call in a complaint at their corporate office and the hold time was over two hours! Ridiculous...

Ordered a costume 10/13/24. Received shipping confirmation email 10/14/2024 with Fedex tracking number. Package is never picked up and shipping never moves forward on tracking. Call 10/20/24 and was told costume was not actualy in stock to ship but may come in at any time. Was told to call back in a few days at which time I could try to cancel if still not in stock. Finally got through to customer service on 10/28/24 after waiting on hold an hour as soon as they opened. Then waited 30 minutes for a supervisor to approve refund. Told they will not send confirmation of that but "you will see refund on CC 3-5 days". But they did send a refund email for a partial amount. Now I have to figure out what that means as it is not the tax and/or shipping amount. I asked for names of rep and supervisor to have some proof I called. Rep got testy and I said please don't be rude, I know this is your busy time but I am not being rude. She changed her tone immediately. I found a similar costume for grandchild elsewhere and paid $$ for overnight so I would not disappoint her. Now I have to see about the rest of the refund. In summary, it is incredibly dishonest of Spirit to 1. say a costume has shipped that is not in stock, then 2. imply more will be arriving so you will not try to cancel and shop elsewhere, and then 3. make you ridiculously have to argue to get a refund as they claim you cannot cancel after an order ships when they know in fact the item never was in stock to ship and Spirit just created a label to fabricate a shipping confirmation email to mislead you in believing that the item was indeed shipped. To top it off 10/27 I recieved an email to review the item I reccently purchased....

Panama city 2 animatronics both had issues one was simple but was told they knew nothing and could not help. Help line called back way late. I figured the one was operator error but the staff just tells you they can't help once sold. The manager was nice but the sensors gave a lot of trouble. One only works when it wants two and stopped working in 30 min.

Not taking returns after a certain date makes sense, not allowing exchanges for the correct size of the same costume 2 days later is an absolute garbage policy. I'll be going to any one of the other party stores for my costume next year so I don't end up with a useless costume again! Thanks Spirit in Seekonk MA! Y'all are useless!

This was at the Lake Stevens store.. in WA.. since when Does spirit not fulfill valid , non expired coupons? I recieved a coupon code for subscribing to their junk mail and tried using it 2 days later.. they claimed it didn’t work when I just got it and also claimed spirit stops accepting coupons on Oct 10th?? Since when??!! I also had a coupon that came to my old email they claimed was expired yet it was sent this past September?? I would’ve only saved like 3.00 but they refused to credit either coupon.. funny thing is I stumbled onto their actual lake Stevens spirit site and they had a coupon on there.. valid through Oct 31st but it was too late at that point cuz they also stop refunding people around mid Oct.. they didn’t even try to validate either coupon or coupon code I had and could have easily offered me the one from their web site but didn’t bother .. starting to hate these overpriced junk azz costume stores.. my daughters 70.00 DOLL costume was poorly made and looked nothing like the pic when she put it on.. cuz now they don’t let people try them on anymore either.. so you never know.. you can get better quality online for the same or lower prices and that’s where I’ll be doing my shopping from now on .. very disappointed over their complete lack of customer service .. Purchased a costume for my daughter. She wears a size 10 so I purchase a large 12-14 to ensure it would fit. The costume was far too small so I immediately returned to the store 45 minutes later. ( had to go home to try it on of course). Store would not exchange as it is one day past their return cutoff. I allowed her to choose another costume in an even larger size.reason for my review is that I had to have a conversation with my 9 year old daughter who is questioning her size after our visit to this horrible company. Their greed led her to question her body image at 9 years old. Thankfully she was extremely happy to find a “comfortable panda costume that would actually fit her”. I am so disappointed in the policies at this company. It is truly shameful that their greed has overruled any common sense or sympathy.

We purchased outfits from Phoenix, AZ location however, live 5 hours north on upon arriving home open one costume and missing an item. Tried to send picture to family in Phoenix but told need costume and original receipt to exchange. Spoke to corporate staff and kept being told take it into the store or send picture to family. I told them I did. Nothing resolved just told donate the outfit then. I told them closest shopping stores like Walmart in any direction is 2 hrs away, we live in rural part of the state. Individual just mocking saying “would like to live like that aren’t you all scared to live there?” Told them no people still haul water , go out to chop wood, but major shopping likes malls have to travel couple of hours. It’s not our fault as customers if packing doesn’t include all listed items. I even said why can’t you call the store and tell them what item I need so family can pick it up. But again nothing.

Absolutely the worst experience with one particular store - Gilbert, AZ on Dana Plaza. This location has no fitting rooms. We spent nearly $100 and asked if we could come the same day to exchange costumes if they are too small. The answer was: sure. My wife's costume was ok, but mine was too small. Came back in 20 minutes. Manager looked at me and said - it's your problem, not ours and refused to exchange. I will be disputing the credit card charge.

Thursday night around 7 pm I went to Spirit Halloween on White Bridge Road in Nashville,Tn and purchased 4 costumes. The next morning, my husband and I tried on our costumes, his was too big, mine was too little. Friday morning, 10-25-24, I took both costumes back only to exchange them for different sizes. The guy at the front door which is Caucasian, asked me did I need to exchange or refund? I told him exchange. He says unfortunately yesterday was the last day for exchange. I said I only need a different size. He smirked and said sorry!
I took my bag back to the car and decided to go look and see if I could find us cheaper costumes than what I paid the night before. I found some and went through the line and paid another $80 for costumes after spending $223.00 the night before.
As I was leaving I noticed a man of a different race coming to bring his costume back. I thought let me see what happens with him.
The Caucasian guy that greeted me at the door greeted this man and told him he could exchange his costume!!!!
I am very furious! I confronted him and all he said was sorry with a smirk! I asked for the manager and all she said was sorry and told me I could sell the costumes I didn’t want on Amazon marketplace.
I recorded them and will definitely be posting on social media. I thank God for growth because the person I was 15 or 20 years ago, they would have had to call the police on me!!’ I’ve been trying to contact their corporate office and you can’t get a real person. I’m also contacting the BBB and any tv station that will listen

I ordered an item from Spirit Halloween over two weeks ago, and it has yet to be delivered. I was really looking forward to receiving my order, especially with Halloween approaching, but it seems that my excitement has turned into frustration. Despite waiting patiently, my package never arrived. I contacted customer service to inquire about the status and they were ultimately unhelpful. After several attempts to get updates, I was informed that the delivery was delayed without any clear explanation. When I requested a refund due to the item not being delivered, I was shocked to be told that it was past the refund date. How can that be the case when the item has not even reached me? It feels incredibly unfair and frustrating that I am being held responsible for something that was clearly the company's fault. I had high hopes for this purchase, but my experience with Spirit Halloween has been disappointing. I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before ordering, as you may end up in a similar situation with no resolution in sight.

I had gotten a costume and tried it on, since theres no fitting rooms, and realized that it didnt fit me. So i called the phone number, which led me to customer service. The hold was like 20 minutes long but once i was finally on call with a representative, I had explained to her that the deadline says the 25th, I was still talking and she rudely cut me off to correct me that it was actually the 24th and had an obvious attitude and then after cutting me off she didnt apologize, she only said “proceed”. I was like, well my reciept says that its the 25th. Whatever then i proceed to explain that i got my costume an hour ago and that it didnt fit me, before i could ask anything she cut me off again and said that refunds aren’t allowed. I then asked if an exchange was possible and then she cut me off again, talking to me with some attitude when i was talking nicely and calmly, she was like “ma’am i already said we cant do that” then i was like ok thanks i guess, and she rudely hung up. I dont understand why their CUSTOMER SERVICE is rude people. Sickening. Do better.

If I could give a negative star I would. I purchased a costume, paid for overnight shipping, 4 days later it says it still hasn’t shipped. Called customer service and was told I could only get a refund for the $20.00 express shipping I paid for. Absolutely ridiculous that I can’t get a Full refund on the $50.00 costume I ordered that I will not be able to use this year. Spirit Halloween is TRASH! Don’t waste your money!!

I contacted customer support like they said to under my original post via email and have yet to hear back from them. 7 days later after purchasing over night shipping and I still have not received my package.

I made an online order, paid for express shipping and item was never shipped. I requested a refund in which I was given only shipping and tax refund for now. I should expect the rest of the amount in some days. I was told it can take 7-21 business days before I see it posted to my account. I don’t understand why it’s coming in partial payments when I paid in full. They truly suck and now I’m stuck days before Halloween looking for my son a costume!
