I have no complaints about the plumber who attended—he was polite, thorough, and did a good job. However, I do take issue with the pricing. While I was made aware of the call-out fee in advance... See more

Blocked Kitchen Drain
An engineer was at my house within 2 hours.
Everything completed on the day, he was very friendly and reassuring.

they charged £144 for a call out just looked at the blocked toilet and left. Then they called from the car and said it would be £900 to unblock the toilet. They lied as cost included lack of lift when there was a full working set of 2 lifts. It was outrageous. I called the office they reduced it to a further £450 to fix. My mother turned up with a hose like slinky she bought on the way and fixed it in 5 minutes. I have complained repeatedly but with no satisfactory response. I would not trust this company they are neither professional nor honest.

I’ve been ripped off by this company by this company sadly. After feeling reassured they were providing a service that would future proof against future issues I have discovered they have actually done an incomplete job and created a new problem - charged for the full drain pipe to the street to be lined (only half is lined and where the liner is incomplete it has created a trap in tbe pipe.
When challenged they were quick to tell my builders ‘we are not the kind of company that gives money back’ …lovely! So speaking to trading standards to understand my options from here as I face having to pay someone else to fix their mistake. Avoid!!

DO NOT USE!!! They will rip you off. I asked them round to install a tap. I was quoted £195 for the works. Upon arrival the plumber looked at it for 2 minutes. Went away for about 30 minutes at which point the office called and said the job would be £425.
The job was completed (taking only 40 minutes so equivalent of £600ph) but the piping started to leak after he left - creating an issue with the flat below. On calling them they refused to fix the problem for free alleging a problem with our pipework (which was not leaking before the visit).
At which point I got a different plumber.

Daylight robbery – quoted £144, charged £414 for a simple sink unblock!
We had a blocked kitchen sink on a Saturday around midday. When I called PM247, they quoted £144 including VAT unless the job was complicated. It turned out to be a very simple blockage – yet the final bill was an eye-watering £414 for a 30-minute job.
They said the engineer would arrive between 3–4 pm, then changed it to 5–6 pm. The engineer was very polite, professional and explained everything clearly – no issue with him at all. But the company’s pricing was extremely misleading.
After he arrived, I was told to sign a contract and make payment to the company before he could start. When they phoned back, they suddenly said the job would be £414 because the initial £144 was just for the “analysis”. The supposed “complexity” was that the engineer needed to fetch a hoover to clear the pipe – hardly advanced drain work.
Their own website lists the average price for unblocking a sink as £175, with a possible weekend surcharge – so this charge is excessive.
We’ll soon be doing a bathroom renovation, but we definitely won’t be using PM247 again. The engineer was great, but the company’s quoting and billing practices felt underhand and misleading.

WARNING DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
They sent a plumber who could not investigate the cause of the shower and taps upstairs not working. In order to investigate he needed to go into the loft to inspect the water tank, but because he was obese, he couldn’t fit through the loft entrance. Before he started I had to pay upfront £144. I complained to the company that it wasn’t my fault that a proper diagnosis couldn’t be made due to the plumber being obese, but their only very aggressive response was, do you want the works doing that would be £450 +VAT. My response was, how could a diagnosis be made when he wasn’t able to inspect the water tank. The company rep was shouting over me and very aggressive.

The kitchen ceiling was leaking from our bathroom. Without causing any damage to the tiles, the engineer restored the waste trap and securely sealed it. Excellent work, well-explained, and extremely pleased.

Will never ever use this company again, if I could have entered zero stars I would.
Arrived a day late, and still charged for as a callout.
Price was astronomical in comparison to previous companies used (£595+vat, so £714 in total) Replaced toilet siphon, closed couple kit and then sealed, so nothing major.
A similar job the year before cost us approx £200 inc parts.
You have to pay up front before the work is even carried out. Their plumber had to wait on site for payment to go through before he was allowed to start.
Avoid at all costs. Just money grabbers.

They wanted to charge £500 to fix a leak in a flexible pipe under the sink and to remove a ring which had dropped into the U-bend. Would have been about 20 mins work

It’s a scam! ‘Plumber’ arrived but then quoted a massively larger fee for the job…in the end he cleared a blocked sink by vacuum but failed to make a long-term fix. There are decent tradespeople out there - please use them instead.

Times may be hard but this company is taking the p*ss out of people, charging a minimum call out rate and then extortionate amounts for very basic jobs.
Better off doing it yourself

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Now that I have read the reviews available on several websites which report very similar experiences to mine, I cannot emphasise this enough. I paid £1290 (excluding the £144 ‘inspection’ fee) for a simple shower pump swap - a total unjustified rip off. The only reason the price was that high is the company know that you are desperate to stem the flow of leaking water. Having contacted the company for a justification on the price, I merely got an explanation telling me how involved the job was. Having experienced plenty of similar jobs in my time, I knew exactly what was needed and told the company this on first contact. They are a total rip off and I would strongly advise avoiding this company.

I had a blocked toilet and called PM247. They arrived promptly — which was the only good part of the experience. I was charged a £154 call-out fee, and then quoted £850 to unblock the drain. When I challenged this, they “dropped” the price to £654 by removing an unnecessary CCTV add-on.
Once I agreed, had to sign contracts and pay upfront, the engineer (Wayne) unblocked the drain in under 10 minutes. That meant I paid over £650 in total — effectively £500 for less than 10 minutes’ work. A very nice piece of business for them, and reflects how they operate: quick in-and-out jobs for extortionate fees.
When I questioned Wayne about the ridiculous pricing, he claimed he knew nothing about their pricing model — which I find very hard to believe from a senior engineer.
What’s striking is how closely my experience mirrors the majority of the one-star reviews on here: high call-out fees, inflated quotes, pressure to sign up quickly because the engineer is “waiting around the corner.” The company’s responses to complaints also feel like copy-and-paste AI apologies — all the same lines about being “sorry,” “take concerns very seriously,” and “will investigate fully,” yet clearly nothing changes because these identical 1 star reviews keep coming!
On the other extreme, some of the five-star reviews made me smile. A number go out of their way to highlight how “affordable” the company supposedly is — which, when compared to my experience, feels very hard to take seriously.
Honestly, it feels like their whole model is preying on desperate people who are panicked then ripping them off. My recommendation: RUN!

Avoid this company unless you want all of the following:
- Your first engineer arriving 3 hours late to the scheduled appointment.
- The engineer leaving mid-job to collect a part they already knew was required, then failing to return that day, with no direct communication or explanation, leaving the work unfinished.
- Meanwhile, the company demanding final payment immediately over the phone, despite the job being incomplete, refusing to take no for an answer—even after I explained I’d already made two earlier payments promptly and that I’d feel far more comfortable paying once the work was finished, with an engineer on site. “We wont complete the work until payment is made”.
- Hours later, the company finally backing down and agreeing to wait for payment until completion.
- A replacement engineer arriving the following day - also late.
To their credit, the second engineer was polite, skilled and completed the job. However, the experience leading up to that point was chaotic, stressful and highly unprofessional.
I couldn’t imagine parting with more money under such poor service.
Truly terrible experience. Avoid this company.

Overall bad customer service.
I had booked an emergency toilet fitter to come in same day. They quoted £395+VAT -- 474 in total.
I then received a call to confirm a plumber will be on site however we received a last minute fitter for a cheaper quote and decided to go with someone in our price range.
When I informed I will be cancelling and going with the other person. The PM247 agent was rude about the cancellation and that we'll be calling them when our toilet floods.
At this point, even if they offered a competitive price -- I still will not go with them.
It's not that deep and you do not need to be rude about it.
If all the negative reviews are true and this is how they treat customers who are in a pickle, I may as well have also been scammed and taken advantage of.

Fair pricing and prompt answer. Our radiator was immediately fixed.

Dire experience. They pay to advertise about Pimlico plumbers and told me they were the same. They quote 245 and came out. When they got here they said the job was much harder (it wasn't) so would cost 1555 (they knew I needed it done within a few hours). I offered to pay a good hourly rate. The guy said I was talking no sense. It's very scammy! Choose pimlico plumbers. Nicer people and you know what you're getting because they do an hourly rate.

Absolutely ripped off. Sent out a guy who didn’t spend more than 2 min in my bathroom. Apparently tried to plunge (I did not hear any motion in the toilet). They have a photo of the plunger in the toilet which anyone can take. I was within meters from him. Checked the outside man hole and then went to his car. Then tried to charge £800 plus to unblock a toilet. Didn’t even check the upstairs toilet to see if the blockage was between (room above). DO NOT USE!!!!!! Customer service is patronising and arrogant

Completely over priced - DO NOT USE. I needed some minor work done on a leak under my sink and after an initial reasonable quote, they tripled the price after an inspection. When I asked for a breakdown on hours of work required and cost of parts etc they refused to provide. When I said I didn’t want to proceed they then were going to make me pay an extortionate call out charge so I had no choice but to proceed. I will not be using this company again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
