Review of Boohoo

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Useless - don’t order from here

Placed an order which was sent to a local shop over a bank holiday weekend, which they then returned after two days because I was away and couldn’t collect in such a short timeframe. Boohoo received the order back successfully on 1st September so I contacted them on the 2nd to ask about my refund, they said it would be with me by 11th September - not ideal but I thought this would be sorted. By today, I’d still heard nothing back so had to raise a dispute via PayPal in order to get my money back, if I hadn’t I think Boohoo would have just kept the lot forever. Utterly despicable behaviour from a supposedly reputable company. Don’t order from here, or if you are having issues just go straight to your bank or PayPal for a refund if they’re ignoring you.

SCAMMERS - Avoid!

I paid £1.99 for an online quiz thing with these chumps and they have today randomly taken £23.99 out of my bank account with no permission and no communication regarding this. I have emailed to request an immediate refund and will be reporting you to trading standards.

You suck

Sent a sales rep round gone 8pm on a Friday night, who insulted my partner upon them answering the door. If you want to get business this is a pretty weird way of going about it!

Poor

I ordered a cardigan for my gran for Christmas and got it sent to a local garden centre via Evri as per your delivery options. On Saturday, I got an email saying Evri couldn’t deliver it as there was no safe place to leave it, which is ridiculous considering the centre was open and that it’s an agreement you have with them. It finally got delivered there today, so I’ve been to collect it and I was met by a sour old lady working at your store who begrudgingly found my parcel, then gave me a full lecture about signing the back of my debit card, despite it being absolutely none of her business! Poor and rude service, you will not be getting my business again.

Order not fulfilled

I placed a £40 order on 18th March. Still absolutely no word about dispatch by the 23rd so I placed a log to find out what was happening. Still absolutely no word from Lloyds today so I called - they confirmed my order hadn’t been dispatched with absolutely no apology or explanation, so I’m getting a refund in 3-5 days and now need to find somewhere that will actually deliver the things I need. Poor service and very poor communication. A pointless waste of time.

Scammers

Despite never having dealt with this company before or giving them our details, they managed to get hold of my partners name and address and sent us a letter demanding money for a FREE OF CHARGE repair which was carried out in our house by Whirlpool A YEAR AGO! We called the number and the guy who we spoke to broke GDPR as he didn’t even ask who he was speaking to or any personal details, he was aggressive, argumentative and rude and we had to end the call with no resolution. We spoke to whirlpool who confirmed the work was indeed free of charge. God knows how these people got hold of our details - extremely dodgy and a total scam. Be very careful if you receive a similar letter!

Review of Boots

Useless

You’d think a massive company like Boots would be able to deliver on their promises i.e. delivering items to both your home and their own stores in the timeframe set on their own website (which you also have the pleasure of paying for unless you spend enough with them!) but they just don’t. I’ve ordered multiple times over the last couple of years and you have rarely delivered parcels on time. You state a specific date when ordering but once the buyer has paid there’s a disclaimer to wait 5-10 days after the given date, rendering it pointless really.

I didn’t even get as far as booking a repair with this company because they wanted my card details upfront so I didn’t trust them. I was correct not to, as since they’ve had my contact details they WON’T STOP TEXTING AND EMAILING ME! Avoid!

Review of Vets for Pets

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Birstall practice - negligent

As if our cat being really unwell wasn't stressful enough, this practice made the whole experience a lot worse. We had to go here as our vets referred our cat as an emergency to them and I regret letting my cat be treated by this company now. We were referred as an emergency and given an appointment time, which we attended on time and were left waiting for an hour. We were left waiting at least 30 mins to an hour for our subsequent three appointments. We were given an estimate of £1050 which ended up being £1800 (and that didn't even include a proper diagnosis of why our cat's kidneys were failing, they wanted further money for this investigation.) They also carried out a £60 urine test on our cat without our consent and didn't give us the results. We visited initially on a Friday evening and the following night when we visited our cat, there was a massive clump of hair on the steps up to the vets which had been there since the previous night - disgusting. The vet nurse left us waiting 5 minutes when she rook us to the reception desk to pay because she got distracted by a puppy and the receptionist snapped at us "Are you paying then?!" The receptionists were rude and aggressive, lacking empathy and only wanting to take your money. They also messed up our bill, so even though we'd paid and left, I got a call when we got home to say I owed a further £105 "because the vet messed the bill up." We paid for blood results which were meant to take one week to get back but took 11 days and a lot of chasing up to get them. They ordered medication which we paid for and were told would be there the next day. The next day we were told it hadn't arrived because it was past the cut off time for ordering. The following day we were told that it still wasn't in, but that they had a bigger bottle we could have, but it would be an extra £120 for this. They then proceeded to tell my partner they never ordered the smaller bottle of medication we paid for and that they just wanted us to pay for the bigger one they already had in! Unbelievable. Not only is this highly unprofessional but stopping a cat from accessing essential medication because of sheer greed is just cruel. The vet gave us a prescription for some further medication to be obtained from a pharmacy - upon going to order this I was told by Boots the cost - £1,100 for 70ml (!!!) - the tablet version is £10; yet another demonstration of this company not having a grasp of reality. Fortunately we found a new vet for our cat, however the real icing on the cake is that they misdiagnosed her with stage 2 kidney disease a month ago, when in fact our new vet confirmed that she was in the final stages of the disease and sadly she passed away last week. I would suggest avoiding this practice at all costs.

DO NOT CALL THEM!

I placed an order consisting of several items in early September. One item didn’t arrive by the end of September so I emailed to track it down but the reply referred to another item which had already arrived, so I thought it would be easier to call them. I was on the phone for 19 minutes (on hold mostly) and this one call has cost me £11.58!!!!!! To add insult to injury, the guy on the phone told me the item was coming but I got another email two days later to tell me the item was lost and that I was being refunded. Absolutely useless customer service and I’m disgusted at the price I’ve had to pay to call you. I’ve been a long-standing customer but I won’t be ordering from you again.

Couldn't organise a p*ss up in brewery!

Couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. I ordered a black coat last night - email confirmation showed pink coat in picture and link to the pink coat, which I hadn't even viewed on my browser let alone ordered, funnily enough! Customer services email says I "can" amend or cancel the order but it's a typo, because it then goes on to say I have to refuse the delivery - doesn't tell me what will happen from that point though! I realised today that when I ordered from Millets last year - instead of sending me my item, they just randomly refunded me with no contact! If you can get what you need from elsewhere, just do that - avoid these clowns!

Placed an order on 23rd November and I know it will take up to 14 days as per your website and automatic messages, however I've been refunded for my order with no explanation. I messaged on Facebook on Monday 30th November and completed your online contact form to ask if anyone can shed some light on this and nobody is responding. Useless!

Harassing cold callers

Money Expert cold callers came to my house last Friday, I was in a work meeting so I didn't answer the door, but I looked out the window and signalled that I wasn't interested. The cold callers left, but then returned 4 more times throughout the day, up until about 6pm when I had to shout at them out of the window to leave us alone, upon which the man started jeering and laughing. Appalling behaviour which could be reported as harassment, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Review of Bulb

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Bye bye Bulb!

I’ve been with Bulb for over a year. They were brilliant - hassle free, clear statements, easy to send meter readings via the app. Until now! I got a really sneaky email from them in September saying my bill was going up by £4.28, cue October and it’s been put up by £41! Wow. Looked back at the email - scrolled right to the bottom to find they’d put this random extortionate amount at the bottom. Couldn’t lower the ludicrous monthly amount so I’ve left - got a super weird / unprofessional phone call last week from a woman who sounded like she was at a party, mumbled something about Bulb then hung up on me. She called back the next day, didn’t explain the phone call and sounded like she couldn’t give less of a crap if she tried - asked some questions about my time with Bulb then hung up?!

Hi Gem.

Thank you for leaving us a review, we really value your feedback.

We are really sorry that you have received poor service from Bulb. We did recently have a payment review that was done to take into consideration the price increase and also winter months.

We are sorry that the phone call was unprofessional, we do have a team that calls to make sure that switches were intentional and to find out why members want to leave Bulb so that we can improve our service.

I have sent you a request for your details, if you would also like to send more information about the phone call you received I can open a complaint about this.

Thanks,
Melisa

Review of Peter Storm

Terrible

I ordered a coat online from the PS website and got an order confirmation, Peter storm also took the money from my account. The order confirmation said that they dispatch very quickly so no time to amend orders. Two days later I hadn’t heard anything so I tracked my order on their website and it was blank. I weirdly got an email from Millets saying thank you for signing up but no evidence of ordering from them. Three days later, at 9.25pm on a Friday night I’ve got a email to say I’ve been refunded and my item isn’t in stock. Bloody useless company; you should be ashamed of your incompetence.

AWFUL - AVOID!

1 star is too much for this bunch of crooks! Sent off my iPhone 7 to be recycled after checking Trustpilot, which said Handtec have 5 stars. I was quoted £90 for the phone and I posted it in immaculate condition, having only had it for 1 year and looking after it very well, there were no blemishes on the phone at all. They emailed me to say they’d received my phone then the next day another email came through to say that their engineers had checked it and they were only willing to give me £60 now due to the multiple scratches and chips. I emailed them twice to complain and ask for my phone back and they ignored me, so I called them and threatened to report them to trading standards, they then returned my phone to me (free of charge, not for £30 as some reviewers have stated) BUT they have either a) sent me someone else’s phone back or b) purposely damaged my phone as it now has a very obviously man made scratch all the way down the front of the screen and a chip on the back higher side, neither of which were there before. I am so disappointed in myself for falling for these c***s but the more honest reviews they get, the more hopefully people can get fair warning not to send their phones to these scammers.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

Last night I went to book a last minute hotel in London and found Expedia's 'Secret Savers' "Deal". They quoted that the deal would give a great rate (40% off) top branded hotels. I chose a 3* hotel in East London and awaited the email to confirm the hotel.

What a disappointment! The hotel is called City Inn Express in Hackney. It's an independent hotel with a 2* rating. It's average review on most websites is 1/5 and it very clearly is a health and safety nightmare considering people's photos of the place. Not good.

Upon further investigation, I have now discovered that the hotel I paid £162.97 for three nights stay is actually £158 on Expedia to book without this supposed deal! I've contacted Expedia through Facebook messages and spoken to a robot who says I can't have a refund and I can't swap my booking to another hotel either. They generously gave me the £4.97 difference in form of a refund and now won't reply to me.

Absolutely appalling service and a disgusting ploy to con people into booking crappy hotels that they can't get bookings for. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
