Completely incompetent! Thred Up is unable to send the items ordered. There is a complete mismatch between what is advertised and what is delivered. Pants are rarely the same cut and shoes are not even the correct gender. They still expect me to pay return fees. Unbelievable. Once a great company they have become a scam.

A few years ago I found a handful of really nice items, but it seems the experience both as a buyer and seller has absolutely tanked. My most recent order took 4 conversations with customer service to put through because advertised promo codes were disappearing from my cart randomly. Two pairs of nonrefundable jeans showed up in WILDLY different sizes that what I purchased (e.g., size 2 vs. size 10), and half of the clothing smells absolutely terrible. I’ve felt incredibly scammed sending in clothes and making literally $3-4 on a box of high ticket items. I’m deleting my account and the app off my phone after this last experience.

Sent in two bags of high quality, gently used or new items from Chicos and Lane Bryant...many new with tags and they are listed at very low payouts where I'm only receiving between one to five dollars as my profit. This is not a good scenario for sellers. I've purchased many items from THREDUP but my opinion is that this company profits by jilting its sellers on good merchandise. A good business model for them is a bad business model for sellers.

I ordered from thredup a few times now and I’m usually satisfied with my orders. My last order however, was beyond unacceptable. The photos were COMPLETELY edited. I had ordered jeans which clearly were shown to be bootcut and were labeled as such in the caption. I received PENCIL LEG JEANS!!! Not sure how this could be mistaken. Extremely upset over this. I’m in college with no way of transportation so I cannot return the item without a hassle, it’s not even worth my time to deal with this company any further. Beyond disappointed, wanted to order more from this company. this is insane to me.

I purchase a Michael Kors collection bag for $65.50 and my order was confirmed. There was only one bag of this style left. The next day I receive an email saying that the bag I ordered was already sold to someone else that my money would be refunded. Then I go into the website and guess what I see? That’s right! The purse that I ordered only this time it is being sold for over $300! When I purchased it clearly stated only 1 in stock and I snagged it because it was a nice bag and for the collection and very good deal. I can’t believe they did this. It was a scam. That’s the only way I can see how this happened so quickly. This company cannot say there were 2 because I would have seen both. You cannot say oh someone purchased it and we forgot to remove it, I’m not buying that either. So sad this was my first experience and last with ThredUp.

I would give it a 0, but it wouldn't let me. I am so sorry that I decided to try selling my items with this company. I sent new with tags…like new—clothing…, and I have had little to no correspondence. Who are you? Beware.
For example: an item sold for $18.99…I get $3.21….this goes on until all the items are sold and THEN you see this -$30.00. There’s no way they should collect another fee of $30. What’s that for? It’s very confusing and not at all motivating to try this service again.

scam. actual nightmare of a company that scammed me out of an almost new item worth at least $50 to give me a payout of THREE. THREE DOLLARS. the fees are absolutely, beyond insane, not transparent at all and very vague until the payout actually happened. entirely unreasonable. so as a seller, unless you get joy out of getting around $5 (maybe $10 if you play your cards aggressively right) or almost new authentic vintage piece from a quality high level brand, run

I BOUGHT A BUNCH OF LL BEAN PANTS MARKED EXCELLENT BUT THEY WERE ALL SHRINKED HALF THEIR SIZE AND AT LEAST 15 YEARS OLD- CRAZY!

Selling with them is more hassle than it's worth. You have to pay for the cleanout bag (lol) to send them their free inventory. Then they "donate" half your high quality expensive items and give you pennies for the rest. Back in the day, ThredUp was great. They had affordable clothes, free buy-back bags, and much, MUCH, better practices and customer service.
Lately the prices are so high it's almost completely unreasonable after shipping. They also now CHARGE you to process "clean out kits", which is frankly, stupid when you are basically receiving CENTS back for your designer clothes. They have also kept expensive clothing and bags of mine (ie. Dooney & Bourke bag) that I would have wanted sent back. After I use my current credit, I will no longer shop or sell at ThredUp unless they make some major changes. Don't pay to send your clothes to them. This is not a real consignment shop. You're better off selling your clothes on Poshmark, the Real Real, or even to Buffalo Exchange or the like.
Buyers and sellers beware.

I do not recommend ThredUP to anyone, no matter how convincing their promises sound. The whole experience feels misleading. They sell your high-end items for premium prices and give you pennies in return — if they even accept them. Several of my nicer pieces, including brand-name shoes and dresses, were marked “ineligible” and kept without clear explanation. It’s incredibly frustrating and feels dishonest. I’d rather donate my clothes to a local shelter or sell them at a yard sale than let ThredUP profit off them.

Thredup is a legitimate consignment Company. I have purchased and received three orders and the products were always as described. The only down fall with this Consignment Shop is The measurements are not always accurate but you can find the brands size chart online. So Trust me when I say this is a excellent Company to do business with. And they have the BIGGEST selection of clothing at low prices.

I took a chance and sent a box of beautiful clothes I could no longer wear. Do NOT send good quality and luxury brand name items. You will receive a couple of dollars. Unbelievable!

I have ordered several items and found the descriptions on the whole accurate but the item I received today was just beyond description. It was rated as excellent and nothing on the photos said otherwise. To my surprise there was a large hole in the dress and the hem was torn and in disrepair. I took photos and wished I could share but cannot on this website.

I used ThredUp a couple of years ago and had an excellent experience. They sold all of my items and I was able to buy some things myself with the money I made.
I ordered a couple of clean out bags again recently and it's been such a disappointing experience. They said that many of my items are not sellable, even though they are name brand (Good American, Farm Rio, Eloquii, etc.) and new (several with tags). There is no explanation as to why they can't sell these items, and there is no way to get them back. It feels like they are taking advantage of people (especially considering all of the other reviews). I would not recommend selling with them unless you just want to lose good items.

I have been a buyer from Thredup for many years. Overall I have been satisfied with them. I have received items with unlisted stains, holes and funky smells that I just throw away or donate. I decided to try them out from the selling side. I sent in 4 bags which I included only great condition items. 2 of the items they rejected were based on them saying they were a different brand then they were. One was a Brass Plum brand from Nordstrom that they called a Walmart brand. The other was a Lucky Brand jacket they they said was Faded Glory brand from Walmart. Can't they read a label?? They also rejected a pair of Adriano Goldschmied jeans but gave no reason. I was meticulous in only including things that were in great condition so I know there was nothing wrong with the jeans which happened to be one of the higher price items I included. Then you only get pennies on the dollar because of fees and sale prices. I will not use them again to sell anything. I will either sell it myself or donate locally.

I am actually so frustrated with the kind of business is l. On one hand I love the idea of buying used bc it is better for the environment but think the owners just don’t care about their customers. I have ordered quite a lot of stuff off of this site and about 50% of the items I receive are great, but the other 50% are obviously stains, ripped, I even got a shirt with tags on it that have cigarettes burns on the back and all of the items say they are in good condition they do NOT mark them as flawed even though clearly anyone can see it’s ripped in lots of places. This lets me know they are fixing the items for the picture to sell. Which to me feels like they are scamming their customers. The promotions are also very messed up I got a good promotion one time and the rest of them are just crap oh and by the way that one good promotion, my order was cancelled and I never got it back so really I haven’t gotten any good ones. Weird, I would’ve thought by now I would have received a better one by now. Clearly it didn’t pay to be a returning customer with this business. Too bad you cannot post photos with reviews!

I used thred up a few years ago and thought was was great. Pricing seemed fair and reasonable. Just did it again and am getting $20 bucks for HUNDREDS of dollars worth of clothes that i sent in. Understandable for the rates to change but I would've have rathered donated it locally my self for what they did.

This is my first time using the website, and it will be my last. I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to buy thrift clothes online when it is very difficult and somewhat costly to deal with returns. Just go shopping in person to actually save money and get what you like (in addition to keeping carbon footprint lower).

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The payout is a joke, they charge you to ship your clothing. I sent the max amount to them and earned $1.06!! Most of the clothing I sent actually did sell, but $1.06?! DO NOT sell with this company!
