My two friends and I rode BlaBlaCarBus from Santiago de Compostela to Porto. We had a perfectly great experience. Completely opposite from these negative reviews I see here and there. The driver was very nice and helpful. Bus comfortable. Punctual. All in all it was a great experience for us.
Does not refund and the app has disabled sharing phone numbers now with drivers.
The bus journey was fine, but the bus didn't have a toilet or charging points, despite what they advertised. Not just that, but we paid extra for reserved seats. This seems to have been a scam, as there were no reservations, no seat numbers, and the driver said people could sit anywhere. We have been offered a voucher which is useless to me and they have refused a refund - despite never being in a position to offer the service they charged for!
The amount of money isn't great, but it's warning for others that you won't get a refund if things go wrong.
On the plus side, the bus arrived on time!

The worst experience with a bus company we ever had. And looks like they simply cheat on their customers.
So, what they do - they sell you a more expensive ticket for more convenient bus and then just rebook you on a cheaper one without any refund for the difference in price.
I booked a ride a night before my kid had to travel with her Gandmum, and there were 2 options for the same route: a one for 100 euro for 2 pax arriving earlier in the evening and also with a bit shorter travel time, and one - late in the evening, 54 euro. I intentionally bought the first option as there was a kid and senior travelling. Next morning just 1 hour before estimated departure time I got an email that my trip was changed to the later one (the one which costed almost half of it). And when i requested a refund for that (as i could have booked it myself and even save money!), they only claimed that they were so kind to rebook me to another bus free of charge, and since i travelled - no refund is possible. While that was there issue of cancelling the earlier bus!

I booked a bus for my Dad to go from Utrecht to Bordeaux. We were there since 22:20 and did not move until 23:00 (when I saw on the app that the bus departed). We did spot the bus (1698) passing by the station but he never stopped. In that station there was a notice that said that this station was moved to C8 (for Flixbus only). However, the ticket and email both stated that the bus would arrive at Jaarbeursplein 24, so we stayed there. The communication is horrendous (wrong in both the email and ticket) but they would not admit it / issue a refund since we were only a couple of passengers. The response from support is that the bus left from "Utrecht", that is very vague and not a station.
Maybe it did leave from Utrecht but definitely not from Jaarbeursplein 24 as we were physically there for 40 minutes. This was 100 euros trip + having to stay an additional night in NL + having to book an alternative last minute.
EDIT (21/10/2025): I did file another complaint after the reply below from the customer support. I got the same response from someone that does not even bother to read the description well. I have photos of both bus platforms, a photo of where current BlaBlaCar buses stop and my ticket showing that the platform stated there is different from the one used by BlaBlaCar these days. I will file a complaint with the dutch Consumer Protection Agency

They clearly have no monitoring of their drivers practices, and are now actively ignoring my correspondence regarding a scam perpetrated by their driver. It is a shocking corporate attitude.
They’ve now just replied below with a generic reply despite the fact they know full well about the situation.

Booked the BlaBlaBus from Biarritz Airport to San Sebastián. It arrived at the airport more than 30 minutes late, causing me to miss my connection in San Sebastián. BlaBlaBus agreed they owed me a partial refund but would only issue it as a voucher, which I can't use because I'm already back home in the US. And even if I wasn't, I would not trust them to get me to my destination on time! Avoid!

Bought a ticket for a bus, it was late 4hours so we took another one. Requested a refund for the ticket, that costed me 21,99 euros and refund I got was 19,99 euros. I attached the price I paid to them but they do not care. Overall just don’t even try to use their services. The other bus ticket was 12 euros, their markup is just insane

Bus never showed up and when we asked blablacar drivers of other destinations they had no idea of our bus, they were generally very indifferent and not helpful at all and I had to find a way to go back home last minute. Very unreliable do not recommend

Drivers lack commitment and responsibility, constantly arriving late, canceling rides last minute, and often treating passengers poorly. And BlaBlacar isn't doing much to punish bad drivers. The platform doesn't allow you to review drivers who at the last minute cancel rides, so the score given to drivers is not trustworthy at all, it is the perfect platform for irresponsible drivers. Very disappointed with the service.

Took this bus because we wanted to check out if it’s actually as bad as the reviews say but the bus was in the station 10min before and left at the right time, bus is clean, driver polite and everything okay.

Buses didn't show up. Multiple buses didn't show up leaving me stranded in Paris with no way home & I was unable to book a hotel/hostel due to how late it was. No explanation given aswell.

I booked this company through omio. From Geneva and annecy. Upon booking it didn’t state anywhere that I would need a child car seat for my baby. It let me put in her age of 7 months and it let me book the seats without a warning anywhere (otherwise I wouldn’t have booked it knowing we weren’t taking our car seat abroad)
Whilst waiting for the bus at Geneva we got our cases stolen (weren’t the bus company’s fault) however this made me very distraught and upset.
When we went to board the bus the driver told us we couldn’t board with the baby without a car seat. He said if I do I lose my job and your baby die. The tickets did state in small print you need a car seat but I didn’t even cheak the tickets untill I boarded which was too late.
We had to get the train which cost me another £50 euro and was soo stressful especially with a small baby and the stress of losing my case.
I tried to get my return ticket refunded. It refunded me a measly 2 euro and it was on a coupon. What a joke. I then since tried to send an email explaining I didn’t get a notification about the car seat and would they find some compassions to refund me.
They just dismissed and said it states upon booking you need a seat so they didn’t believe me when I said that for me it didn’t!
I will never use bla bla car again. What a waste of time and money

Used Bla Bla Car twice in Geneva and Annecy. Rude and very unhelpful staff. Dirty and worn and tired buses. Both times the buses were very late. Try to avoid if possible

The worst of the worst customer service i have ever experienced.
Booked a ride before i would catch a flight, before taking off i informed the driver we were 1h delayed, when we landed, i saw the driver hadn’t waited and canceled the ride.
I contacted customer service and all they said is that i didn’t reply to the driver in 3 days!!
3 days hadn’t even passed! I replied the same day, just after landing (2h flight)
Then they said they would refund me €6 out lf the €12 i paid, but i actually paid £18!! Which is €20!!! They totally ignored my question about where that money went, and i will receive a £4 refund after the £15 i paid… (€20)
So avoid this company and take an uber
