Yelp Ads is a Scam.
Yelp Ads is a Scam.
I listed my new small business on Yelp and was quickly contacted by them to discuss ads and other premium services with a very generous offer to provide matching ad credits. They told me all about the fantastic conversion rates similar businesses see and how it would pay for itself with just a few new clients.
After several months, I was being bombared by spam calls from third parties regarding my Yelp ads and how they wanted to sell me AI.
Out of the fifteen leads they provided, one did convert. Certainly wasn't worth the waste of money.
After Yelp took all the money out of account and nearly ran my business into the ground, I canceled and asked for a refund which they denied.
Clearly Yelp is not suited to small businesses or those with hyper focus.
I rarely write reviews
I rarely write reviews. Their employee said that I'll get a month's free trial for my Yelp Business Profile and ad set up (they'll make this sound like they're giving you free advertisement, but they're not). You're paying for the PPC(pay-per-click) ads, which can add up in costs very quickly. The return on cost is just not worth it for most businesses on this platform, but they will still try anyway.
I should have researched them beforehand. After the setup, I went online and read the reviews, and immediately cancelled the day of. They are a money scam company for small businesses. I was charged the next month for the single day of running ads, but they made it sound like it was free.
Save yourself the trouble and don't use or create an account with Yelp.
This company is unprofessional
This company is unprofessional, with poor service. It is a marketing scam!
Unprofessional and lairs
Unprofessional and lairs. Cassedy haynes don’t hesitate before making fake promises at the time of consultation and when you sign in the the service, you get nothing but heavy bills from yelp and no leads at all. The person who sold me this service do not want to come over the phone with me they keep putting me to different person and the conversation do not go anywhere and i end up losing so mich money.
Very poor service
Very poor service. Yelp representatives have no idea about what they are doing. They are making fake promises like yelp will not charge for the first month, charges will be based on the amount of leads that they will provide, $300 bonus to spend on the ads to begin with. It is all a lie. Right before the beginning of the civic holiday long week end, they started sending me heavy bills without providing any leads at all. Even after stopping the ad the sent 3 more bills, $300 bonus is still sitting there untouched and payments keep going out of my bank account. The person ( cassedy haynes )who signed me in don’t want to come on a call with me. Cancelation with yelp sucks 🤮

Choice Warranty is horrible
Choice Warranty is horrible! They do not cover what the contract says. I paid extra for ice maker but when filed a claim; I was told it was not covered. I had trouble with them in 2024 for claim with air condition.
You have to go through heaven and hell to cancel the contract. This is a horrible company with poor customer service.
If you don't know Spanish forget this Taco Bell
This Taco Bell was one of the worst restaurants I've been to. Women employees only understood Spanish. There was a young male there who thought it was funny that I couldn't make them understand what I wanted.
I ended up getting to Supreme Tacos with just cheese and a couple of pieces of beef, Ugh!
Taco Bell, E Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO
Waste of money
If you decide to waste your money, and like cold leads use yelp. Use bark or thumbtack or WOM if you want actual leads. Over $1k spent on leads and not a single response or drop of business.
How Yelp Cured My Loneliness
I'm not even exaggerating when I say that Yelp has changed my life. Before I signed my business up, my phone was just... quiet. My heart would sink every time I saw a "no new notifications" message. It was a desolate, lonely wasteland of a digital life.
But then, I found Yelp for Business. It's not just a platform for reviews; it's a social lifeline. The minute I put my business on their site, the calls started rolling in. I'm talking multiple times a day! They're so persistent, so dedicated to my well-being, that they don't even get discouraged when I ignore their calls. That's true friendship right there. I've even blocked their numbers, but it's like they have a secret stash of new ones, ready to keep the good times rolling. It's a game of cat-and-mouse, and I'm the delighted, chased mouse.
Honestly, if you're ever feeling a bit down or just need to feel seen and heard, forget those expensive dating apps or therapy sessions. Just put your business on Yelp. It’s the ultimate life hack for loneliness. They'll call you, they'll check in on you, and they'll always, always have a new ad package to discuss. It's like having a best friend who's also a highly motivated salesperson. Thanks, Yelp, for filling the void in my heart... and my voicemail.

The flies were more attentive than the waitstaff. Ordered Philly Cheesesteak Pizza, was so disappointed. Not at all like the sandwich which showed caramelized onions & peppers which looked delicious. Raw onions & raw peppers and tiny chunks of beef topped my 12” pizza. I asked if they had thin crust, waitress said “no problem” but soft thick pieces graced the plate. My friend’s hamburger looked excrllrnt and he said it was very good. Not sure I’ll give this establishment another try. Waitress was hurrying us to leave when we were still eating. Give our experience a 2 out of 5.
BEWARE of Tripp Trailers & Customs
Ordered a Golf Cart Trailer from Tripp Trailers & Customs in Kennewick, WA. BEWARE. Owner, Bill comes off as a guy who will take care of you but when something goes wrong, he's a different guy. I ordered a custom tilt golf cart for my new 4-seater golf cart. I shared all specifications with him. He stated he's built these in the past and will have no issues. Although the build took longer than promised, I still purchased the trailer. Took it home. The next day I tried to load my cart and found out it won't tilt when I drive up on it. Then when I back the cart off of it, the trailer drops early and slams under the cart. I was forced to drag the cart off. Then I tried to see how it handled with the cart on it. I drove about 1/4 mile from my house and the left wheel fell off dragging the trailer along the asphalt. I contacted Bill and he swore up and down that this never happens and that he would build me a new trailer and make this right. He said he thought maybe it was a disgruntled employee messing with the lugs because he lost 2 wheels while pulling his trailer. AGAIN, the trailer wasn't being built on-time, so I asked for an ETA or a refund. He offered a full refund. Over the next week, he wouldn't pay so I gave him a deadline. He responded with, I should file a claim with my insurance company. He claims to be a man of his word but clearly is not and doesn't back his product. Just plays the blame game. I'd buy from a more reputable company. Trac Pac has been around a while, but he bought the company, didn't start it which means quality control may be slipping away from the Trac Pac name.
Stay away
Stay away. I was quoted one price, charged another. Then when I called to discuss (I was never rude), they said 'let me put you on hold' and then they eventually hung up on me. Twice. I did not get any customer calls but so many spam calls saying 'I'm calling to discuss your recent yelp ad' and how THEIR COMPANY can help me even more. So it seems like it put me on some spam list.

I’m frustrated it creates conflicts and problems with business and clients, heads up don’t use this platform at all if you don’t want headaches.
I had a high pressure sales person…
I had a high pressure sales person misrepresent their ad costs. Right off the bat, I was charged hundreds of dollars for"clicks" that do not have any value to me. I had only 2 reviews. Both of them were old. I had a very good review put in the not recommended section. That review was left by a client I've seen for 8 years. I stopped the ad, but left the logo for $30/mo. It's not even worth that much. Not if my reviews are "not recommended."
Yelp CS sucks
My very best review that I've ever had is hidden and it says one not recommended review which makes it look like somebody left me a bad review for my company. When I called to ask why it's hidden and how to fix it I was told there's nothing that can be done and why do I even care because I have a five star review. I care because when you first look at it it clearly sounds like someone gave me a bad review.
In my line of work I deal with people that are severely depressed and this review is about how I help to save someone's life through my company and if it can help someone else then that's totally worth having it showing. And this idiot that I spoke to was so condescending to me and had the nerve to tell me that there's thousands of other people that use Yelp that have the same problem so what makes me feel so special that I should get mine changed? That was his exact words!
