From start to finish, I was left frustrated and disappointed. Communication was inconsistent, expectations were not met, and I never felt like my concerns were taken seriously. What should have been a supportive and professional process turned into a stressful one.

Yelp police at work!

Yelp is completely on the businesses side. They remove reviews that businesses don't like, they don't give you a chance to repeal it, they even send emails saying your account can be closed. Yelp is really going down the drain, silencing real reviews, and always staying on the money's side.

This platform is going downhill

This used to be a good site where you could sign up for user studies and you knew you would get paid. The last 6 months or so there’s a flood of studies that are run by AI which pay very little money. They either put two questions for qualifications in the respondent platform and once you pass them you get accepted only to get ANOTHER link with more questions to fill out in order to REALLY qualify. What’s bad about this is since respondent thinks you qualified, that project is marked as “invited” on their platform even though you’re not really invited to anything. So it becomes impossible to track who paid you and who didn’t as your projects area gets flooded with these pseudo invitations. Moreover, even if you qualify for these AI run studies after filling out additional questions, it’s very possible that they might terminate in the middle of recording your videos and all the time you spent on it are wasted! The studies run like this also never respond to your queries when you email them through the system. It’s all so badly automated that it’s becoming a big waste of time and effort, making me lose my trust completely in Respondent. Unfortunately these types of AI run studies are literally taking over the whole platform. Like I said this used to be a good site but it’s really going downhill in my opinion. In order to cut costs they’re losing quality participants. I guess soon robots will talk to robots!

No transparency for testers about their rating

I've been using UserCrowd as a tester for several years. I have sent them this feedback that I will write down here 6 months ago and all I got was a response appreciating the feedback and that they will look into it. Six months later, still no sign of any improvement on their site regarding my feedback. So I decided to make the feedback more public with a rating for them!

As a tester, we get rated for each test and there is a cumulative rating of testers out of 5 stars. But there is no transparency for the tester to see which tests they got rated low, and why. In fact, you don't even know if you have been rated low for a test unless you see a change in your overall score. If you are doing hundreds of tests, you simply cannot figure out which test rated you low and why! Other platforms don't have this issue. Cloud Connect, usertesting.com and many other platforms show you clearly which tests rated you low and why. That way you can improve yourself, or appeal it if you disagree. Besides, those platforms also calculate your rating such that if you get positive ratings more and more, your negative ratings are dropped. Whereas with usercrowd, it stays! Because of these reasons, I think UserCrowd is a mediocre platform compared to its competitors.

Rewards get revoked arbitrarily w/o any explanation

They revoke your rewards without any notification or explanation. So, you log in to the site and suddenly you see your balance rewards as a negative number!!! This is all after spending so much time filling out the surveys that are supposedly sent to you based on your profile. They get all the data, add the money to your account as your reward and a week later they revoke it. No email, no notification, no reason given. Very shady company.

No easy way to check transactions and balance if you lost original email

This card is very hard to use. There is no easy way to check your transactions. God forbid you delete the email that the organization giving you the card sent you. Then you are out of luck to check your transaction history or balance. Contacting their customer service doesn't resolve this either. What century does this company live in? Look at My Prepaid Center or Virtual Reward Center. I can track all my cards through them easily via their portal. Why can't Tremendous do the same thing? I'll tell you why. This is so much cheaper for them and this way if you lose your card or something it is not accessible and retrievable, which is profit for Tremendous. This is mischievous. All they have to do is provide a portal where we can register our Tremendous cards and access them easily via login/pwd. This is 21st century.

They don't pay the $25 cash back bonus

I've been with them for one month and the reason why I signed up was their $25 cash back promo if I spend $300 per month. Well, first month into it, and I already can't get the $25 cash back even though I spent $300 using their card. This is because even though I made some of my transactions on June 30th, they count it towards July 1, hence I can't get to $300 in June. According to them the transaction has to be "posted" within the month to qualify for the cash back reward. But as a customer, I don't know when my transaction can be posted or not! As far as I am concerned, I PAID for the transaction in June and it should have counted towards my June transactions and I should have got the cash back bonus. I am really frustrated with banks and financial companies playing these tricks on us. I thought Percapita was different. Or at least that is the picture they are painting on their site. But really are they? I don't think so... I already lost my trust in them.

It's been months since I "redeemed" my $25 gift card in exchange for all the surveys I filled out at their site, I have yet to see the gift card... If you contact them, they have an auto response that just says accounts have to be verified before gift cards are sent, and that there is no timeline for it. In this day and age, this just sounds like bullshit to me. I completely lost my trust in them.

Low paying site with no transparency about tester rating

Their user tests are not paying much. Moreover, recently they switched from paying full with PayPal to deducting 6% from paypal payments and offering tremendous for full payment. When I gave the feedback to them that this is not fair, the response I got was "We actually increased our rewards more than 25% before our switch to Tremendous! So, the 6% is negligible." To me that response is just laughable. I am not sure when and how they really increased their prices for 25%. I really don't see that. Now it is possible that maybe I have low ratings and that's why I don't get high paying tests? Who knows! Because, there is no transparency. As a tester, I cannot see what my ratings are, where I got low ratings, and no feedback on how to improve. So this site for me is getting worse and worse. If you won't be transparent about our ratings and help us get higher paying tests, what is the point of staying here? and if when we send feedback through their platform we will just be talked down, I really don't see the point in directly communicating them to help them imrpove their system. Perhaps leaving a rating here for them, which is fully transparent, would be helpful for them to improve something. I'll continue using their site but if it goes like this and I just don't get any transparency, I am not sure if I will last long. There are many alternatives out there.

Hi - I'm happy to address your feedback. We recently switched to use Tremendous as our reward redemption provider for a number of reasons, most importantly because it's better for our testers. Tremendous allows for users to redeem rewards in many ways, the vast majority of which have no fees (e.g. gift card, Amazon, etc). Some have low fees, like bank transfer and PayPal transfer (6%).

It's also true that before we switched to Tremendous, we increased reward payouts > 25% on average. Tests that were previously $5 reward (like a 5 minute usability video) are a $10 reward, and previously $10 are now $15. We did that partially to offset the 6% fees for people that want to transfer to PayPal, but mostly because we want to ensure we're always providing compelling rewards. Our rewards are higher than almost any other user research company, on average > $20 / hour, and we want to do that because its important for us to have great testers.

After every test, we provide feedback to testers regarding their participation, along with tips to improve. We would be happy to share your rating with you if you ask. We have requested your contact information so we can do that.

Terrible customer service, mediocre website

I am fed up with this brokerage company. It is so hard to find any reliable help info on their website. Their trading options are limited, not giving any details about the delta, gamma etc (the Greeks in options). Their customer service is terrible. They don't have knowledgable people on the phone. You ask them a question about your account and options and they put you on hold to check with the back office, then they came back as a message relayer. If you ask a follow up question, they again have to put you on hold and check with back office. Today I was on hold for almost half and hour and then the call got hung up automatically. I am so done with them. I am moving my account somewhere else.

*** [Feb 24 update] changing my rating from one star to three stars as I just received a call from the owner of the company who personally apologized for the issues and told me that they send payments in batches which is why they are delay, and accepted that they need to do a better job in communicating the payment timelines to users ***

[previous 1 star review] It's been weeks since they *supposedly* sent me the rebates to my checking account but neither the money arrived nor the customer service is responding to my emails and the numerous tickets I opened. Non existing support team, bad business practices. At this point I started to wonder, have I been scammed??? Will I ever get the rebates they promised???

Unprofessional

They asked me to go to my appointment 20 mins earlier than the start time, which I did, and then they made me wait another 20 mins. So, total of 40 mins of wait. I had to cancel it because I have other things to do after and I would be late to those. Desicrew doesn't pay you for your wait time even though they ask you to come early. But they themselves are late. Very unprofessional.

If you are participating in one of their video collection studies, beware! They send you instructions that are long and confusing. You work on it, going through all instructions and submit your videos as requested. And then they reject all of them with 2-3 words of feedback, and want you to redo them. It is a complete waste of time.

No customer service!

I use this company's app called "Pepper". They advertised 15x points for instacart purchases so I purchased the instacart gift card there. But instead of 15x points I got 3x points. I've been trying to get this resolved ever since. It's been 10 DAYS and THREE emails to their customer service that I'm trying to contact them, plus an email through their Facebook page, and still ZERO RESPONSE from them. Basically, they have terrible customer service team.
