Review of Buckley Belts

Buckley belts - excellent, quality product.

I bought a set of 3 belts, one each of blue, brown and black on the 15th of September 2024.

They arrived quite quickly, in elegant and sturdy packaging that gave the immediate impression of quality. A great 'look & feel'.

When I got them out of the packaging and read the instructions to cut-to-size, I was a bit apprehensive because I almost always mess-up the measurements of *anything* so I had more than a hint of trepidation... I was afraid of ruining the belts by cutting them poorly.

I decided to just follow the instructions. So I took a sharp pair of scissors and made the cuts. This turned out to be easier than expected and resulted in a clean and simple cut. No fraying or wayward stitching at all.

I then attached the buckles and did the same for each of my belts; I had a wedding to attend.

I put on my suit and buckled on my belt... as I cinched it around my waist, the FIRST thing that came to mind was...WOW!! In the past, I had to bore extra holes through my traditional belts and then wiggle around to ensure the correct fit - the traditional belts have ALWAYS been either too large, or too small, and so I usually ended up in situations where my trousers would gather at the waist... or bunch... or slip. And the belt would end up with too many extra holes, at seemingly random intervals. A complete waste of money.

As the day would wear on, the traditional belts would get either tighter or looser and I would be as uncomfortable as heck... shirt coming untucked, trouser waistband askew, feeling (and looking) sloppy.

The Buckley belts were PERFECT!!! The ratchet-like fasteners were infinitely adjustable, simple to use, and I was getting the right fit almost from the moment I passed 'go'! Never did I expect the hype to match reality so well!! Tiny little adjustments as needed, so very easy!!

The quality of the belts is exceptional and they looked just like a traditional high-end belt. Literally took seconds to cinch and adjust as needed. No muss, no fuss... just such a perfect fit!!

I was (and am) absolutely DELIGHTED!!

Very high-quality, look the part, unbelievable comfort and such elegant simplicity!!

Well done, Buckley Belts!! I'm certainly a believer!!

One of the worst customer experiences

Update 24/09/25: I've been contacted by the company to ask that I modify my review - this is only fair. They have processed a full refund. Of course, this doesn't take away from the absolutely DEPLORABLE Customer Experince, in the interim. The fact that I was forced into asking for a refund speaks volumes about this company.

I've been promised product despatch 'by the end of the week' for about 3 weeks now. Firstly they 'ran out of inventory' with consignment 'stuck in customs'. Then I was told they're restocking and the fulfilment centre will need some time to process the incoming stock and updated the despatch ETA toward 'the end of' what is now this week.

Still nothing.

I think I've been scammed. There's no shortage of spam emails promoting yet more purchases but if these shysters think they're going to get *more* money out of me they're sadly mistaken.

Just left a very bitter taste in my mouth (pun not intended).

Gourmetific: Worked out great!

I bought a set of Gourmetific cookware, light blue, for Christmas 2024. There were delays in shipping and I got into a bit of a fight with support - in hindsight, I shouldn't have. It being Christmas, there was a shopping rush. A shipping rush and delays. I guess these were to be expected.

I've been using this set since I got them. The outside gets stained easily and its nigh on impossible to get the stains off.

And that's been my worst experience.

The ceramic construction is great; the non-stick works a charm. The heat conduction is excellent. The snap-on, snap-off handles are a breeze to use and a great idea.

This cookware is so easy to cook with, once you get the hang of using it. I use them on an electric range with 'glow-up' elements and they really conduct the heat super-quick, so I learned to watch out for that - it's actually a great benefit, once you stop and think.

Haven't scratched them (as yet!!) and I make sure to use the silicone-headed spatulas, spoons etc. I also use plastic spatulas and wooden spatulas+spoons. The times I've forgotten and used metal utensils haven't left a mark - thank goodness!!

There are ads all over social media for 'titanium' cookware at really high prices and, in my humble opinion, the Gourmetific cookware has certainly held it's own. I also use cookware, at times, that is branded with an 'exclusive' brand and I find using the Gourmetific set way better.

I've been cooking since I was about 10 and I've a solid few decades of experience under my belt. I cook curries, stir-fries, pasta and sauces, chillis, pot-roasts, soups, rices- pretry much anything under the sun I can grab a recipe for. Acidic foods, basic foods, bland foods, spicy foods...you name it!!

This cookware hasn't let me down. I can cook appreciably quicker and, actually, better-tasting foods.

So... if you're willing to live with a few stains and to learn *how* to best-use this cookware, I'd give it a solid thumbs-up.

Well done, Gourmetific! I wish you had woks too!!

They turned it around REALLY well...

This review went from a 1 to a 5 star. How? Read on!!

I sometimes get buyer's remorse. Especially so, when my gut tells me to do one thing and then my head overrules my gut.

When I get something unpleasantly unexpected, out come both barrels!!

When I first got my watches I was bitterly disappointed; especially as they didn't work properly and the same manual came with both - it just set off all my alarms and I cursed myself for being a fool. Then I didn't get updates via customer care as quickly as I expected and that was like fuel to a fire - I went absolutely ballistic.

After a couple of days I got a call from a senior member of the organisation - owner level. He listened to everything I said, in detail, and worked with me over the next two days to completely understand my angst and problems.

We went through every function of each watch, testing together, I told him what I was seeing and he acknowledged the faults we found. He also acknowledged the issue with the manuals.

We have a solid plan of action now and I'm very satisfied. The person also told me about the history or their shop and brands and what they're hoping to do.

I finished our calls with a sense of reassurance and also a very firm feeling that this team is hell-bent on improving product quality, and putting a wrap of the very best possible customer-care around their offerings.

I feel safe now shopping from Swan & Edgar and I'm NOT the easiest person to convince.

Well done, S&E team. I'll certainly buy more from you.

Performance 3 months in.

OK. So I ordered a set of Gourmetific cookware over the Christmas period. It took a while more than I expected to receive and this was due to the Xmas rush.

I've been cooking with these since they arrived and here is my experience:

1. They perform really well on an electric cook-top. They heat up and cool down quickly.
2. They stand up well to cleaning, it's a blue set, in both the dishwasher and by hand.
3. I've noticed the frying pan has got discoloured on the inside base, and I'm worried that the quality may not be as great as expected; I cooked steak after which the discolouration happened. I must stress that there has been no drop in performance; the non-stick properties do not appear degraded.
4. The handles are of a 'snap-on' type and are solid. You can take the handle, click it off one pan and attach to another vessel with no problems.

So far, my overall experience has been positive and I'll write another review by mid-year.

Would I buy again? Yes I would.

A great experience - sunshine after the rain!

Never have I turned around a review so quick. I had ordered what I thought was a savoury collection but ended up 20 packs of the same flavour. I tried to contact the company but no response, so I grew cross and reviewed as such. Imagine my surprise when the customer care team got back to me this morning (we were lucky that the original order had been delayed at the courier) and resolved my issue. The recalled the order and are dispatching a new one with two different flavours (i would really suggest smaller packs that would allow for greater variety) but so far, my expectations have been exceeded and I am happy! Next review when I actually eat some.

I ordered cookware...

I ordered cookware. And Utensils. Nothing. No order delivered. No response to emails. No phones answered.
This is SCAMMY behaviour, especially since the ability to add reviews to this page are not visible. I've created a trustpilot page and will spread my experience far and wide.

Giurmetific have reached out to me with an explanation of what happened and I've accepted it. My delivery fell victim to circumstance, exacerbated by the 'holiday rush'. I'm satisfied that things are in motion now so I am, as promised, amending my rating. Final review will be after I have tested the cookware.

Update: 6th Jan 2025
I have been in some long 'conversations' with support (Sophie) to discuss what happened with my delivery. Since I got the cookware, I've cooked a couple of dishes with it and haven't experienced the issues pointed out by some folks regarding the quality. They've been just fine for me. The company have acknowledged my issues and are sending out an extra handle for me (and I do appreciate it). Yes, things could be better in terms of delivery planning over major holidays, I must admit, but my biggest fear was getting caught in a scam and I'm happy to report that once the communication channels (email) were reopened, the situation improved in terms of responsiveness. There are no instructions with the cookware and I pointed this out and also made a suggestion to create a 'user-manual' type section on their website, possibly accessed via a QR code or menu picklist.

I'm going to cook some further dishes but right now, after all the conversations, I'm really pleased to report a much better customer-experience.

Extremely poor planning over Christmas. Looks like utter complacency. My Xmas delivery is still stuck on the ground somewhere in the back-end of Australia with nothing in sight to plan on. But I guess for a government enterprise, they just don't care. What a crappy reviewed company!!!

A mainly positive experience but...

By and large - very simple to check out the car. We had recieved a cancellation from Sixt at the last minute, leaving us stuck at Bordeaux Train Station. Was able to get a car from Alamo. Simple and straightforward.

The not good part? I was made to purchase an excess add-on insurance even though I was covered by another policy.

Halfords-most frustrating website.

One of the most frustrating and worst website experiences I have ever come across. I want to to buy a Yuasa YTX14H-BS and they INSIST on getting me to fill in vehicle details. Then they turn around and say the battery is not fit for my vehicle. It IS. The wunderkind who designed their website needs...wait, their management needs to hire someone with experience who can design a website or they need a new CIO. What if I want it for a project? Or to toast marshmallows on! WTH? Seriously frustrated at 0427.
