Rude staff at Skoda Gloucester

Skoda Gloucester, Now Mon Motors, not Heritage
What an advert for Skoda. The sales staff there have no skills or make any effort to help. The young receptionist was helpful but she was being ignored and embarrassed when after an hour waiting the advisor started talking to another couple who had just walked in to the showroom. It’s not as if they didn’t know I was waiting as I was walking around opening and closing cars. No Enyaq on display, the poor receptionist tried her best and got a key to show us a demo, unable to talk us through it and it was a high spec, no idea of other trims, colours etc or an idea of what deal we could have. Don’t care now as Vauxhall has the order.

Review Mon Skoda Gloucester.

Review Mon for Skoda Gloucester.
Excellent service and really pleased with my car.

You (Mon) need to know the problem I am having contacting Skoda Gloucester.

Since the takeover of Heritage by Mon all contact has been lost.I have sent emails to various managers and total silence , these managers prior to the take over acknowledged emails by return and answered soon afterwards. When not in the office I received an out of reply with contact details from the manager.

I reported my concerns to Mon HR department twice and total silence !

I have no idea to the cost of the purchase of Heritage Group but if I were a Director of Mon I would want to know what is happening and more importantly why.

You have my contact details.

Puncture repair kit missing - was pre-sales check carried out

I bought my car from Heritage Skoda Bristol back in August 2023. Following the sale, I felt I was treated with disrespect by the salesman, who shall remain anonymous, when I raised queries and attended the showroom following the transaction. This morning, as I prepared my car for its upcoming service with another Skoda dealership (their price approx half that of Heritage), I checked the wheel well in the boot for the first time, expecting to find the puncture repair kit, which at the time of purchase I was assured would be there, only to find it was empty. There was no trace of the kit. I called Heritage and spoke to a helpful chap (Adam), who apologised and said he'd send one out in the post to me. However, this important omission has me wondering - did Heritage carry out the publicised multi-point pre-sales check? I love my Skoda, but my dealings with Heritage have not been entirely satisfactory experiences, unfortunately. Caveat emptor.

Skoda Bristol what are you doing wrong??

Skoda Bristol what are you doing wrong.
Please read your trustpillot reviews.
I was quoted initially the incorrect price see item 3, here is what they said.

Karen has kindly sent me your email, please let me help you with the points below.
1, My cambelt service was scheduled to take four hours, it took over seven. I rang up at 12pm to the check on the progress. I was told is was in the garage, well it initially went in first thing in the morning, I asked why the delay? the answer was they had to do an adjustment? When you change a cambelt you align the manufactures top dead centre to avoid adjustment, could you please investigate and get back to me.
• The book time for the 1.5tsi cambelt as per skoda workshop manual is 5.8 hrs. as to why you’ve been quoted 4 I do not know, ill follow up with the contact enter. The vehicle came in about 9.30, so that’s nearly 4.30 for completion, we did need to adjust the timing slightly however, so we needed to partially strip back down to do this. Hence the vehicle being ready nearer 5
2, I was asked if I wanted a valet, which included a wash and vacuum. No vacuuming was done. Again, could you please investigate and get back to me.
• The vehicle was pulled off the valet bay to do the cambelt, and neglected to put back on for vaccum. For this I apologise.
3, Initially back in October 2022 I was informed a cambelt change would coast £900, I challenged the price as this was very expensive, the answer was there a lot of work to be done, hence the cost. Later this year I was then told it would be around £500! so I booked the car in for the replacement cambelt. I spoke to one of your staff about the price issue, but never got back to me. Could you please investigate and get back to me.
• This is before the car was on fixed pricing for 1.5tsi engines, so skoda largely reduced the price of this in line with other models/engines
4, When I first booked my car in, I was told by a young male member of staff, that all service staff were unavailable, so I left a phone number, but no one phoned back, I did mention this later, but no one got back to me. Again, could you please investigate and get back to me.
• Ill follow up with the team, see what happened and we will address and ensure messages are passed on correctly
Apologies your experience did not meet your expectations, I hope we have an opportunity to right this in the future. NOTE Nothing has been done!!!

This is for the Bristol branch

This is for the Bristol branch. DO NOT USE. If I could give a zero rating then I would. They sent me a feedback form which I filled in with contact details etc and I haven't had a call or email to discuss my experience. They don't give a damn. I very rarely give an awful review but this lot deserve it. Luckily, I found another dealership (not Heritage) less than 15 miles away that so far, seems good. If it doesn't then I'm walking away from Skoda for good.

Review of the Bristol branch

This is a review of the Bristol branch. We had a very poor buying experience with this branch. Initially they seemed quite professional and they sent a personalised video. However, during the sale process, the sales executive under quoted our part exchange by 1250£ and challenged this. When shown evidence, the sales executive became difficult & rude.
Calls/Emails were not answered and saving grace was Wendy the receptionist who fielded our calls and took messages.
I was ready to buy as this was a Skoda dealership. But, due to the poor customer experience, luckily I looked up their reviews before I put my deposit down. They lost my business and i saved myself further grief . Luckily the other shortlisted Skoda Kodiaq is 750£ cheaper and a higher trim.

'Unforgiveable' failure to return our deposit

We cancelled an order on 17th October 2022 and were told our deposit would be returned. I emailed on 28/11/2022 to ask why we had not had it back, nothing happened. On 23/2/2023 I spoke to Mr Stanislavov, the business manger, who promised he would action the return of our deposit immediately. This did not happen. I spoke to him again on 8/3/2023 asking when we would get our money back. He agreed with me that this failure on their part was 'unforgiveable'. They have been sitting on our money for nearly 5 months and but are not willing to compensate us for their mistakes.

My dads car had a new clutch and MOT

My dads car had a new clutch and MOT, this was expensive but the list of advisorys they sent through exceeded £1,000. My dad was under the impression it needed doing and at the age of 86 was quite confused. I put a stop to the work and my garage has checked the car to find only a couple of brake pads need replacing. Nothing like the £1,000 they wanted to charge an elderly gentleman. I think this happens far too often and would never again use Heritage Skoda again

Very hit and miss service

This is my local dealer but the service you get is so hit and miss its untrue. I have spoken to some really friendly people there but also seen and recieved some very poor service.
While looking to buy the new Enyaq, I popped in to take a look at one. The mature sales person was busy, rolling a cigarette at his desk, and only looked up when I walked up to him and spoke. His knowledge of the car was less than limited and his demeanour disappointing. I later called to speak to the service department, I wanted to know the price difference between the service of a petrol car and electric. The man who answered the call was polite as was the service lady. She didn't know the price and so put me on hold. The line was then picked up by a women who said hello. This was a different person, I explained I had been speaking to someone in the service department. She asked if I wanted the service department. I explained again that I had already been speaking to them about service pricing. She repeated, so you want the service department. She clearly wasn't listening to me and so I explained AGAIN, I had already been speaking to them about prices. She then asked if it was to book a car in. I said no it wasn't but yes please do put me through to the department and that this would be great. Her response 'wow really' in a tone that suggested I was being rude. I could have been rude but having working in retail for over 25 years I try hard not to be. However, her inability to listen and her approach angered and upset me and so I terminated the call.
We have purchased the Enyaq from Winners Skoda and the service from start to finish was great. Its such a shame that heritage skoda can't get the balance right. A small number of poorly trained people letting the team down.

Disgusting Customer Service

My Skoda broke down and took it to Heritage Skoda Bristol on the 3rd May, since then I have phoned almost daily (today is 12 May) for an update. No one is ever available in the “service” department and despite asking for a message to be passed for them to call me back, no one ever does! I’m absolutely disgusted with the service I am receiving and urge anyone else to go elsewhere!

Second time lucky.

Despite the two reviews of Bristol Heritage, my experience with Gloucester Heritage was quite different. I went in to look at the Octavia and Scala with a view to buying. The team were helpful and informative and I had a good test drive in a Scala which sold me on that model. Unfortunately, they didn't have the spec that I required but the sales exec Connor Palmer couldn't have been more helpful.
I went on to Startin Skoda in Worcester and saw the one I wanted. Thanks there to Tom Hall who sealed a good deal for me and I look forward to happy motoring. Thanks Skoda.

Bought a new Yeti 3.5 years ago

Bought a new Yeti 3.5 years ago. 18 months in, the Info/Nav/Radio system stopped working completely. Two visits later they agree it's failed and will replace under warranty. 34 months in, the replacement unit stops working. I tell Heritage Skoda Bristol this, and they agree that, to save extra journeys (during Covid), it will be looked at when we come in for 3 year service and MOT. Unit continues to intermittently cut out/come on. At the service/MOT (1 week before end of warranty) they say they couldn't detect a fault, but for me to monitor it. One week later the problem is back, the system 90% dead. I take it back (again!), they detect the fault - hooray - but now say it's out of warranty (they say, 'it wasn't detected in the warranty period'! I'm apoplectic. To cut a long story short, I have to liaise between Skoda head office and Heritage Skoda Bristol, negotiating how much I have to pay for this repair. Starting with them saying I would need to contribute paying c£750 of the repair (half), I battle away, and over 3-4 iterations over a couple of stressful months, they eventually agree to me paying something like £80 contribution. I'm still unhappy about this because it happened in warranty, but because I'm completely worn down (probably their intention), and I have a completely defunct radio/nav/parking beepers, I agree. So Skoda have left me furious, a massive detractor, zero goodwill...for £80 in their coffers. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. And to re-iterate, this faulty system had already been replaced once at 18 months, and clearly recorded with them 3 months before the warranty expired. They displayed the worst squirming avoidance of responsibility and use of a technicality to avoid doing the right thing.

Follow up...it takes them a couple of months to order the part (all the while no radio etc) - I have to keep ringing to chase. It eventually gets fitted. I get home to find that the parking beeper part of the system doesn't work and none of the radio logos have downloaded (as they were with original system). 'Oh dear pop it back to us' - 1 hour round trip each time. I take it back again, they fix the parking display and tell me that the logos aren't meant to download - laughable.

Skoda UK and Heritage Skoda Bristol both come out of this really badly. They think they're doing you a favour by fixing each of the faults, rather than considering all of the hassle of having to contact them and go to the garage each time. I've loved my two Yetis but I shall sell the Yeti as soon as possible and avoid Skoda in future.

I notice that Heritage Skoda Bristol have chosen not to take ownership of their Trustpilot site!

Very poor service

I bought an Octavia from these guys and have had nothing but problems. That would be bad enough but Heritage were awful and (ultimately) rude. I've seen that they've since put my former car up for sale again despite being afflicted with faults which make it illegal to sell in the UK
