I’ve just reserved my plot with David Wilson Homes, and the experience so far has been excellent. Juelee and Cristina have been incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive throughout the process. They explained everything clearly, kept me updated, and made the reservation process smooth and reassuring. I’m now hoping to exchange contracts before the deadline, and I’m very confident things will continue to go just as well. Highly recommend their friendly and efficient service!

You've heard of a friday car - well ours is a friday house. Its the house that just keeps giving thanks to complete incompetence from David Wilson. The list of things that were built incorrectly are endless but here are just a few :-
*Back door wouldn't close
* Hallway floor completely refitted
* shower tray cracked
* toilet continually blocking - the contractors used by david wilson refused to come out to fix because they knew thet had messed up.
* Rubble left under the French doors causing the rubber seal to split
* man hole covers on the drive unfit for purpose as made of plastic
* patio completely relaid as kept on flooding
* huge gaps to the edges of the flooring in the bathroom, and kitchen
* garage door was dangerous as incorrect springs to door mechanism fitted
* The latest is that we discovered that a stud wall in the hallway has never been secured to the floor.
David Wilson claim to have thorough inspection processes all the way through the build and are only signed off by senior management. Well they went missing on this house. They would rather let you move in with all the build issues, let you identify and chase to get repairs just so that they can hit self imposed deadlines. Sadly since becoming part of Barratt homes they have lost all integrity. If you buy a David wilson home its like rolling a dice !!

I wanted to give the gratitude deserved by John and Mark, They changed my back door.
From the moment they arrived until they left nothing was too much. They are great guys who chat which delivers confidence and demonstrates their professionalism.
Recognition where recognition is due, these two are great representatives for David Wilson homes and even better tradesmen.

Absolutely appalling experience.
As soon as they had my money, the interest and care vanished. The property had a huge list of snags on move-in I was promised would be solved- including a damaged garage door, a mouldy washing machine, issues with turf, issues with brickwork, cracked UPVC windows, and faulty kitchen appliances. I have a door that opens into a radiator with mm space- was told it is tough and the only way they can solve it is to give more solar panels and “you have no chance of that.” (Connected to energy efficiency). Then the house flooded due to an incorrect fitting, something that should’ve never passed inspection. The carelessness isn’t unique to me- I hear a lady on the estate found a lucozade bottle under her bath from pre completion- from someone’s lunch.
They had access to my home for two weeks to "repair" it, putting me in a hotel in a period of that time. When the time lapsed, on the promise all snags would be resolved, it is somehow worse than before.
This experience has been stressful, a waste of time and money, and completely avoidable if they'd done their job properly. Not worth it at all.
I am in touch with management about it as their reply states- they have handed my house back to me after 2 weeks of unlimited access without solving the issues i have raised and that were promised to be solved. The ongoing inconvenience is not acceptable.

David Willson Homes at Wendel view in our personal experience have been amazing, starting from very first conversation and all way through to completion.
Michelle has been amazing, always there to help and support.
Grange mortgages along with franklins solicitors have also did a great job.
The estate benefits from a fantastic green areas along with a play ground.
Thank you

We bought a house with David Wilson Homes in March this year which was a very expensive purchase and we thought we were getting a 5 star home ! What does 5 star mean to us?
This to us means built properly with checks carried out on the workmanship and correctly built in fittings and overall care in building a house that the customers (us) have worked hard for.
The whole experience is very poor, and we are left with a feeling of disappointment and ongoing issues which David Wilson pass from pillar to post without a problem or worry. In other words we are just another number that has now bought and there happy to move onto another build and cause the same issues. We would not consider buying another DWH
The journey, from the start the sales lady’s were very nice as expected although you never saw the same person twice so each one of them did not know what had been discussed before.
The solicitor process was normal, stressful but ok, nothing to do with DWH.
When in the purchase phase we were not allowed to measure Carpets so our time frame for moving in with a comfortable flooring for our 72 year-old mother-in-law was impossible and we had to deal with hard concrete floors which was not ideal. We were told this was because of Health and safety, DWH fitters were allowed in to measure and fit before anyone moved in?? They make money out of their own fitters, therefore they want you to use them.
We have had problems with water pressure which they have passed the buck over to the water company, we have problems with windows all being scratched which were replaced to be fair. We have had all of the patio pathways all loose and were replaced once but these came loose two weeks later so not prepared properly. We have two baths that are not really fit for purpose because they are too shallow and both had leaky plugs which are just cheap plastic. The patio doors have had to be adjusted twice and the gap between the floor and the patio doors is about an inch and a half which is way too big and may cause problems in the future, ongoing issue, We had issues with the solar panels on the roof not working and not one person knew how to get these working correctly and each of these issues have been skirted over with flippant comments including extractor fans that are supposed to take hot air out that are so loud you cannot sleep, but also when these were working with the power off, we were told that this is normal!!! How can that be correct if it’s an electric appliance? These were changed but no apology just excuses.
There are more things and David Wilson have tried to rectify things, but far from five star.
We are certainly not the worst affective by snags on our estate, But I do feel sorry for the management company taking on the site after DWH has left as the quality of the surrounding pathways, etc will need work straight away which will be further costs in the future!
I do not understand quite why the Builder has not really met their own standards as to be quite honest most of this is easy rectifiable at the time. If you are considering buying a David Wilson home then just make sure and the buying process you cover all the checks And possibly get another company to come in and do a snag list.

Conor the sales advisor was so helpful, sent me a video walk through of the plot. Advised of upgrades and offers and incentives which were on offer. Very helpful and informative. Made me feel like a valued potential customer and trusted him to help me make my decision to reserve, advising that I could could cancel my reservation within agreed timescale if I changed my mind.
No forceful sales talk and made me feel comfortable about making my reservation. A big investment, new chapter of my life relocating after 40 years. Felt comfortable making my decision to reserve

I’m owed £250 from DWH for over 2 months now , I’m owed this for attending to defects myself as their attempts had been poor
Do not buy from these
Update
Still no payment received

It was a seamless process. DWH was quite generous. Quality homes and design. The process went well although a little snag towards the end but got there in the end.

Great team at Languard site. Helpful and very knowledgeable. Dealing with Hollie who is fantastic making the experience as easy as it can be.

Last year we visited several sites and decided on one in Oxfordshire. We were going to part exchange a property we owned outright. The valuation, apparently done by an external company took ages. We kept waiting for DWH to get back to us about the next stage. They never did. Our experience is; they’re lazy, inept and really can’t be bothered.
Do not recommend at all.
We bought privately instead. Far more efficient.

When we first moved into the Nantwich estate in Sept 2022 we could have been happier! We were really well looked after in the first year!
However as time has gone on more issues keep popping up with the house, most of the work was done but we’re currently left with a leaking roof that has caused mould in our en-suite and we were told just to keep an eye on it. When we’ve inspected the loft further you can clearly see where it’s leaking but also under the insulation they builders had left a load of rubbish, plaster cuts offs and nails. I dread to think what’s hidden in other crevices. We also were sold the house on the promise of an Ev Charger. However still haven’t had this fitted. We had a plug socket fitted and were told this was temporary until the actual pod point charger could be fitted but ever since the 2 year period had passed DWH have completely ignored every email. We’ve now had to consult a solicitor which is expensive as well as spend a lot of time writing to CEDR to have this matter moved forwards. Also we spent over £12k replacing our garden and found kerbsides and toilet seats under the garden as well as other rubble and broken slabs. In hindsight we should have complained to DWH about this but as we had so many other issues we just decided to deal with that cost ourselves as we wanted a new garden anyway. This was our first home and I’d never buy a DWH one again after this experience. You are sold the dream and let down which only makes you grow to resent the house due to the issues. We also paid extra for thicker carpet but were given the standard carpet and as we had wardrobe fitted it would have been a nightmare to refit the carpets. We were also promised things like wine coolers which to our surprise when we moved in were not fitted in our kitchen as it was only for the kitchens that had the island. It’s not really an issue but I for us but since DWH sell the dream I want to share my experience so others really challenge and get evidence of everything they tell you at point of sale as they lie! I don’t know why they do it, if they’d have said it doesn’t come with an EV Charger we wouldn’t have minded but it’s the fact we bought an electric car on the basis they told us we’d have a pod point charge so we have another two years of not being able to charge our car at home. The plug socket has been confirmed by DWHs own electrician to be unsafe as well as by Kwikfit who supplied it. It’s for emergency use only. You expect better quality when paying the premium for a DWH but in all honesty they’re no better than any other less expensive developer. The only benefit we see to having a new build is the lower cost energy prices but living on an unfinished road and in an unfinished home with extremities costs to replace the garden and carry out repair works yourself outweigh the benefits of buying an older home with the work already done.

Just moved to our home in Hughes Meadow, Telford. From the sales ladies to the site managers all our interactions have been pleasant. Special mention to the Assistant Manager, Dylan who has attended and sorted out all minor niggles associated with a new home.

Sadly what I thought was a forever home is not the case following a catalogue of misinformation, lack of transparency, not responding when issues are raised.
Expecting a customer to put poor workmanship right but then repairing free for others, who would think a developer who strives for 5 stars would treat customers like this !
“A premium” builder, I expected a far smoother experience. I am aware of several neighbours who share similar concerns about the lack of thorough finishing, sales issues and post-sales support.
The best sales advisor was moved to another site to leave one whom is rued and doesn’t tell the truth, fails to be transparent, and denies things were said more interested in numbers she can sell ! Customer service goes along way !
The worst painting I have ever come across, and when they come to fix a worse mess is made, how houses get past amazes me. A garden which was like a paddling pool complained never heard so many excuses meant to have soak aways none existent, the cost was left to me to put drainage in and re turf etc, yet a few other homes have managed to get there’s for free !
Clearly no snagging or testing of electric appliances
Dishwasher had all paperwork and ties still on but “it has been tested” yet no water could get in as pipe was damaged,
Washer was tested BUT it would not empty as no waste pipe !
Simple things that they can’t get right.
If things were checked and got right first time there would be more satisfaction and happy residents than constant snagging to the point you give up.
Sadly profits are all the developer is interested in Not Happy Residents/customers !
Complaints ignored !

I've just looked at the advertising film for the David Wilson homes development called high forest in new waltham/waltham area near grimsby. Knowing the area, I think the film is very misleading. It makes the area look quiet and rural but in fact, it's one big traffic jam. There are also lots more houses planned for the area that will turn it into a bigger rat race than it already is. I understand they have to sell their houses, but they should inform potential buyers with all the facts. I would advise anyone thinking of buying in the area to visit and see the massive amount of traffic. Especially at peak times

Brilliant friendly and prompt service.
This started with Bethany in David Wilson customer service department who gets things done. She is polite, knowledgeable and well organised. Communication is top draw and works well with Rob the site manager who always comes back and between them a great team.
Today Andy Wooding repainted my kitchen. Andy was spot on, polite and had a good attention to detail. I would highly recommend. Thanks for all you hard work.

With DWH, we bought our first house. Katie from DWH@Otter Stone Manor did a great job, answering all of our questions, and gave us much advice and support during this quite difficult process for us. Finally, the house looks amazing, and we are getting support with any questions, misunderstandings.
We can recommend 100% to buy houses from DWH.
