When we first moved into the Nantwich…

When we first moved into the Nantwich estate in Sept 2022 we could have been happier! We were really well looked after in the first year!
However as time has gone on more issues keep popping up with the house, most of the work was done but we’re currently left with a leaking roof that has caused mould in our en-suite and we were told just to keep an eye on it. When we’ve inspected the loft further you can clearly see where it’s leaking but also under the insulation they builders had left a load of rubbish, plaster cuts offs and nails. I dread to think what’s hidden in other crevices. We also were sold the house on the promise of an Ev Charger. However still haven’t had this fitted. We had a plug socket fitted and were told this was temporary until the actual pod point charger could be fitted but ever since the 2 year period had passed DWH have completely ignored every email. We’ve now had to consult a solicitor which is expensive as well as spend a lot of time writing to CEDR to have this matter moved forwards. Also we spent over £12k replacing our garden and found kerbsides and toilet seats under the garden as well as other rubble and broken slabs. In hindsight we should have complained to DWH about this but as we had so many other issues we just decided to deal with that cost ourselves as we wanted a new garden anyway. This was our first home and I’d never buy a DWH one again after this experience. You are sold the dream and let down which only makes you grow to resent the house due to the issues. We also paid extra for thicker carpet but were given the standard carpet and as we had wardrobe fitted it would have been a nightmare to refit the carpets. We were also promised things like wine coolers which to our surprise when we moved in were not fitted in our kitchen as it was only for the kitchens that had the island. It’s not really an issue but I for us but since DWH sell the dream I want to share my experience so others really challenge and get evidence of everything they tell you at point of sale as they lie! I don’t know why they do it, if they’d have said it doesn’t come with an EV Charger we wouldn’t have minded but it’s the fact we bought an electric car on the basis they told us we’d have a pod point charge so we have another two years of not being able to charge our car at home. The plug socket has been confirmed by DWHs own electrician to be unsafe as well as by Kwikfit who supplied it. It’s for emergency use only. You expect better quality when paying the premium for a DWH but in all honesty they’re no better than any other less expensive developer. The only benefit we see to having a new build is the lower cost energy prices but living on an unfinished road and in an unfinished home with extremities costs to replace the garden and carry out repair works yourself outweigh the benefits of buying an older home with the work already done.

Rude and speak to people like rubbish

Absolutely shocking! They keep adding charges like £35 for paying via instalment and have not been sending invoices out detailing what the owners are expected to pay. I just called them to query this and raise it and the girl spoke to me like rubbish on the phone to the point I had to raise a complaint.

Caused me so much stress and worry!

Waste of money! Felt that I paid them thousands of pounds for nothing! As I had to do all the chasing and they made the journey complicated and stressful!!! I think I only spoke to Nicola twice but one time was after I complained because they were Ignoring my calls so I had to withhold my phone number so they’d answer. They were not pulling their fingers out so we nearly lost the property as they left everything until the contract exchange date! We exchanged after the the deadline which was extremely stressful as you can imagine! Poor communication had to chase constantly and developers were then chasing me because they weren’t responding to them either. On the day of contract exchange we had no communication up to and on the date. Had to call them stressing because they hadn’t done the searches still so Developers had to buy us some insurance to cover just so we could avoid losing the property and all the money we’d already paid for extras on the house. After we exchanged contracts we heard absolutely nothing from them until I contacted them to ask about legal completion which I received a rude response.
I will NEVER use them ever again! Caused me so much stress and worry throughout the whole process! And they didn’t care at all about us. Even spelt my name incorrectly on the correspondence but got it right on the legal docs. They also failed to inform us that the law had changed regarding stamp duty which meant we no longer had to pay for it. But despite this still charged us the full SDLT fee of £72 including VAT for them to fill out a form and transfer money to SDLT even though there is no money to pay. Which they still haven’t confirmed to us whether they’ve done it or not! The hatred I have for Poole Alcock after this experience is irreparable and they ruined our experience of buying our first home!
I will always warn people about using Poole Alcock for anything! I even decided against using them for my will service because of the nightmare I had with buying a house of which they have years and years of experience in new build property purchases and with our exact developers as well!

We’re really sorry you feel this way about your purchase. I’ve had a look at your file and it appears that we exchanged contracts for you within 6 weeks of you reserving your property, and just 5 weeks after we’d received the contract pack. We exchanged contracts for you on the date that you agreed when you reserved the property. I can’t find any evidence that we avoided any calls from you, didn’t keep you updated, or were in any way rude. Completion on your new build property was ‘on notice’ which means that the builder notifies us when the property is ready to complete. This would have been why you didn’t hear from us for a while between exchange and completion. This is normal for new build properties. In relation to your stamp duty, the changes were announced by the government on Friday, 23rd September, and we emailed you at 9.13am on Monday, 26th September to let you know the good news. Our fee in relation to the SDLT relates to the work we have to do in submitting a return to HMRC to notify them of your transaction and the calculations. This work still had to be done, even though you benefitted from not having to pay any actual Stamp Duty. I’m really sorry that you seem so upset – if you want to discuss this further, or for us to carry out any further review of your file, please do contact us directly.

Excellent quality build and design!

We’re in love with our new home! Gillian & Cassie in Kingsbourne sales have looked after us every step of the way through to helping us when we’ve struggled with finding a solicitor and mortgage broker - through to picking our choices and then moving & settling into our new home. We cannot thank Gillian and the team enough for being there for us every step of the way! We wouldn’t have our dream home without Gillian!
Also since moving in, Rory the site development manager has been amazing! Helping us to settle in and checking round the property for anything that needed touching up. We were worried about the dreaded snag list after some horror stories from other developers but honestly the quality of the build really demonstrates how DWH are really setting themselves apart from other competitors! There’s a reason DWH have such amazing aftercare reviews and it’s because the quality and care they put into every build.
We even had trouble getting our tumble dryer to fit because it’s massive and Rory’s even checked in to help us to get it sorted which is above and beyond! But it just shows the genuine care to ensure home buyers are happy in their new homes! Definitely will recommend DWH as developers to others as the free extras you get are usually charged at other developers which shows DWH take pride in how the properties look.

Gillian and the team have been amazing…

Gillian and the team have been amazing and super supportive of us securing and designing our DREAM home!

We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few weeks choosing our options and upgrading our choices and we feel Gillian has really supported us the whole way.

We are really happy with DWH because of Gillian and we can’t thank her enough for the efforts she has put into helping us choose our first home!

Gillian is always super quick to respond to queries we have and tries her utmost best to go above and beyond in every interaction!

We can’t wait to embark on this next chapter and honestly it wouldn’t have been possible without Gillian helping us to move forwards with the reservation and exchanging of contracts so quickly!

Damaged box and dusty bag and no tags

Update - I changed my review to 5 star purely because of how Larizia handled this matter despite me not raising a complaint. You can see from their reply. In my opinion this warrants a 5star as despite the dusty bag, the other issues were out of their control and the dust on the bag was easily resolved with a wipe. The tags not being on were fine too as the tags were present inside the bag. Perhaps this bag was a show bag so that’s why it had no tags and also had no tissue paper on the straps etc. - as you’d normally expect.

The bag I bought didn’t come with the tags on and the box was completely ruined. The bag itself was super dusty so I had to clean it.

Other than that I was happy with my order, had I not had discount on the bag I would have given a lower rating as I felt the discount acted as compensation for the fact the bag arrived dirty and not well packaged.

Also I paid for expedited shipping so it’d arrived on the Monday but it didn’t come until Thursday so I wasted £6 for shipping so I’d recommend to anyone thinking of paying the extra for shipping to not bother as I didn’t find it to be any quicker with the delays with DPD at the moment 😊

I'm sorry to hear the bag arrived dusty :( I have made the team aware of this and that all bags are to be cleaned before they are shipped out.
It sounds like DPD have not been as careful as we would hope wth your arcel, which would account for the box damage, I'm also sorry that this happened.

Chris was great

Chris was great! He made the process of selling me car super easy and quick! It only took a few minutes for the quote to come back too so we didn’t have to wait around! Chris even checked to make sure we weren’t stuck without a lift too after selling our car!

Really poor experience. I joined on 23rd august and they keep sending the wrong milk! There’s no way to cancel my order as I’ve tried but they still keep charging me and sending me items. Customer service keep ignoring me and there is no one to speak to.

Excellent customer support from Kirstyn and great leggings

I love the leggings from Adanola! They’ve just changed their material too after listening to feedback and I just think that shows they really do put the customer first!! The customer support is amazing too! I had a problem with an order and I’ve spoken to them twice now and every time I have - Kirstyn has been amazing!
