This company needs to be shut down…
Have been trying to clear an old bill with this joke of a company. As far as I was concerned the payments were being collected. Nope once again this company screws it up just noticed they have taken 3 payments and that’s it. This was a reoccurring pattern even when was with them. Constantly told that my bank would not authorise the payment.
My bank always came back with they had no issues their side.
Now I’m left with a bill and nothing seems to get sorted.
Do Nothing to renew your contract.
The drop in Powershop customer service was totally due to Eon. They took over Powershop and made a mess of it. I was £650 in surplus when Eon took over and stole my £650. It Took me months to get back my money. Now I have reached the end of my Powershop contract Eon have doubled my tariff. EON Stands for Extortionate Overpriced Network. I intend not to accept any contract offered but go on the default tariff. This means you qualify for the OFGEM cap which is better than any current available tariff. As far as I can see the cap on electricity is 21p per kwh for comparison.

I have a payment plan agreement with Powershop the first payment was ok the next they tried to take off double payment and now they asking why I didn’t pay. I emailed them 3 weeks ago 3 WEEKS AGO ! and still no one responded back to me. I have no time to sit on the phone 1 hour to pick up my call so please look at my email and come back to me.
I'll miss Powershop
So sad that Powershop has gone as I found the power packs a little bit more fun than the drab way it is buying power from the other suppliers It was such an unusual way to sell power and it always fell I was getting a bargain There must be someone out there who could start a new company along Powershop lines
Kevin, Why not go on Dragon's Den and make your pitch?
I'll be your first customer!!
Can't say I am surprised about the bad…
Can't say I am surprised about the bad reviews. It is pay as you go energy and so not evened out throughout the year, however some of the bills do look astronomically higher than a traditional supplier that would aim to charge you the same amount every month to eliminate these surprises. Some people like that, but not me.
Useless customer service
After I moved in to my new flat, they never gave me any way to access my account and manage my expenses and options. They phone helpline takes hours and they never responded to any message sent on the Contact Us form. After I moved away to a new flat, I noticed them of my move, but they didn't do anything. Without any account, I am not able to do any admin procedure by myself and they keep pulling money from my account on a regular basis.
Sent them a formal letter to give them a last chance to regularise the situation before escalating.
Disgraceful customer service so far and worst of all, they never ever acknowledge any message sent their way. Just ignored everything.
Awful company
Awful company, closed my account with them in March, then in April I receive and email suggesting that I used 5000kw of energy in my last month with them, so they re-opened my account and accepted the charges under my name and then closed my account again to con me now they claim that I owe them £787 and I am still disputing these charges. It is ridiculous. They also sent false opening meter readings to my new provider.
I have attempted to contact them with numerous emails sending photos to prove that I don't owe the money and they have ignored them.
From what I have seen this happens often to their customers that attempt to leave them.
Please avoid them at all costs the same will likely happen to you and it could be a higher charge.
Pretty bad
Pretty bad, lazy and just passing the time by being purposely annoying so you dont chase anything up(eon) before they they joined with eon were decent enough
Kept charging me despite telling them I…
Kept charging me despite telling them I had moved out and provided them with final meter readings. Useless on customer service, can't even be bothered to try and claim my money back.
Joke of a company
Joke of a company. None existent customer service. Hours on hold to be fobbed off. Account never activated so had to pay extortionate price of over 20p/kWh for electricity as no opportunity to buy power packs. Ended up having to go to ofgem for help. Avoid at all costs!!! Still owe me a trivial amount of money, but I really can’t be bothered with an hour on hold to try to get it paid out! Keep it power shop.
A disaster company
A disaster company
Moved to a new flat, no one contacted me regarding any energy rates but sent me a bill with silly amounts. The flat has not been using any energy for two months as no one lived there constantly, but they charged daily tariffs. Been trying to contact them for 2 months they keep ignoring me. Sat on the phone for two hours just to be cut off countless times seems like no one cares. Emails being ignored as well. A lot of unnecessary stress, avoid the company without second thought...
Absolute disgrace charge for electric…
Absolute disgrace charge for electric even though your flat has been empty for 5 months and when you pay by card you get charged £1.00 extra which they say you get back which is absolute rubbish
DO NOT GO WITH THIS SUPPLIER
We rent a flat in a city centre and it took us a while to find out who our supplier was as apparently nobody knew. We had already rang Powershop after finding some old letters in a drawer - asking if they supplied us, they said no, we then rang British Gas and they found out for us that Powershop did actually supply our gas and electricity. After ringing them back again and telling them what British Gas had told us, they hung up on us half way through the call. Fast forward to getting our first bill they charged us over £400 including late fees etc. (bearing in mind, they had not attempted to contact us in any way and they even thought that they didn't supply us). Nonetheless it was money owed, so we paid it in full. They are awful with communication, they hardly ever responded to our emails. Our billing was completed through direct debit, they'd take it on a different date every month which made things difficult.
We have recently swapped suppliers and are now with Swalec (SSE) - who have been so helpful and have already set up a smart meter for us (something that Powershop said could not be done), these are great with communication. Today, we recieved an email from Powershop (bearing in mind that they haven't supplied us since 18/03/21) saying that we owe them £758.92 for a 30 day period, we have been paying money to them every month in the amount specified by them. So where on earth did they get this figure from?
All in all, a truly horrendous experience and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, a terrible brand with poor image and reputation. Do not go with this supplier.

Over 1 hour waiting on the phone
Over 1 hour waiting on the phone, I was forced to give up. Have tried emailing them without response. I was a powershop customer but switched suppliers months ago & have been unable to get the credit on my account refunded :-(

PowerShop used to be a great company
PowerShop used to be a great company, was with them since December 2017 and never had any issues.
Since E.ON took over it has gone and can’t wait to leave. I had no communication regarding my account being moved over. I noticed that I had credit on my account after a refund (again didn’t know I was being moved over). Tried contacting their customer service and got no reply from two emails. Tried calling and gave up after a long wait on the phone. Contacted E.ON and they said not our problem till you move, which could be May.
Now PowerShop has over £400 of my money and won’t refund me. This has been the case for over three weeks, it will be another few weeks till I can get a refund from E.ON. No excuse especially when I have a direct debit set up.
Atrocious customer service and utter disrespect for people.
Avoid them!

No longer unique
Bought out by one of the big six energy companies. The first thing they do is remove the unique way Powershop sold energy using small packs of energy. Without that it is just another cookie cutter company now owned by a soulless big provider. EON's customer service is truely awful and this has been transfered to Powershop as well. Avoid like the plague.

Totally disgusting I was paying my bill…
Totally disgusting I was paying my bill every month and buying extra power packs to save on my electricity to find at the end of my tarrif term they said I owed the £1240 . After ring them to speak to them they said I wasn’t sending any meter reading to them which I did religiously every month and when questioned why didn’t they contact me sooner to talk to me about my bills each month rather than letting it claims to over and extra £1200 pound they couldn’t answer it. Plus to top this when I found out this and tried to leave I was told I’m not aloud to as I owe them money I knew nothing about. DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY . EVER. Waste of time robbing gits

Trying to change to another supplier but it seams impossible. Everything was fine until the take over. I cant even pay for electric I'm using. So worried I'm going to end up with a huge bill.

This is not how you merge a company
This is not how you merge a company. No respect for why people were using it, avoid, leave if you can. One day E.On will realise that not everyone wants to be treated the same way. Powershop was great. Now it’s just another mindless markup on wholesale power rates.
