Waited 5 weeks for Greenhouse…
Waited 5 weeks for Greenhouse installation after delivery date. When installer arrived some parts were missing and we were told we would have to wait another 3 weeks before the fitter could come back to us. Customer service was horrendous as despite paying the Juliana group for the greenhouse installation they are now taking no responsibility for when the fitter can return, despite the fact that they pay him as a sub-contractor. Disgraceful, they should not be offering this service if they can't fulfil the demand. I have asked for a refund and am waiting a response.
Horrendous instructions and arrived…
Horrendous instructions and arrived with multiple broken glass panes. Would not recommend at all.
Like everyone had said
Like everyone has said - appalling instructions. I have built several outbuildings myself and am a competent at building - but this was the hardest I have built. If you have built greenhouses before, you may find it a little easier. I struggled at every stage and only managed through trial and error and finding videos (there were not many decent ones). A small lean to greenhouse (42 model) took about a week overall (I had to keep leaving it to come back to as it was so frustrating). Check other companies that may have easier instructions before buying - I am not convinced this model will last.
Absolutely dreadful, DO NOT BUY
I regret to say that my experience with this greenhouse company has been nothing short of frustrating. The instructions provided were more of a hindrance than a help, lacking clarity on the most efficient setup methods. Assembling the greenhouse felt like a never-ending puzzle, with parts stubbornly refusing to fit together seamlessly. However, I reached a pinnacle of frustration when attempting to fit the glass panels. It was a monumental task, nearly impossible at times, requiring an exorbitant amount of force and effort. It certainly isn’t a task for the weak or faint hearted. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a greenhouse that actually assembles with ease.
Fabulous greenhouse
Fabulous greenhouse, delivered ahead of schedule well packed and delivered safely. Positive views-looks more expensive than it cost, quality product, helpful customer service, like others have noted instructions are not helpful but internet came to rescue. I am a novice at construction but took my time and yes a few swear words were used, all in all took 2 days to build. Some have noted that greenhouse leaks but so far mine has not and I live in a wet n windy northeast so thank you and I would highly recommend this company as I looked at others who were asking almost double the price..
Don't Use This Company
Wish I had read this before persuading my partner to buy a Halls greenhouse. I bought a compact version last year and it was a nightmare to put up but I thought that was because we were inexperienced at putting up greenhouses. My partner paid for the in house "specialists" to put his greenhouse up and they took even longer than my family. They moaned the whole time about the product, which we thought was INCREDIBLY unprofessional and then refused to take any rubbish away with them, even the glass THEY had broken and left in the garden. At the very least Halls should make it clear about removal of rubbish. We had a skip a few weeks ago and would have kept it to handle all the debris left by this company. The greenhouse is ok but, as others have said, their instructions are abysmal and the customer service team indifferent.
Been trying to get in touch for 5 days…
Been trying to get in touch for 5 days now and not able to get through. No reply via email and a month delay on delivery????
Nice looking greenhouse, dreadful instructions
Nice looking greenhouse, but instructions an absolute joke! Took ages to feed the rubber seals onto the frame and lots of guesswork to put together. Very disappointing!!
Boll*cks From Amsterdam?
Was attracted by the rather expensive but stylish 'Supreme' range....
All went well on construction - which I did myself. Plenty of YouTube videos to supplement the instructions, which were 'average'. It helps that I am an expereinced DIY person.
The problems came after a series of storms. The clips supplied are not strong enough to hold in the (expensive exta cost) safety glass. Six panels blew out over a season, although only two broke. Also lost one of the flimsy acrylic panels, which had all become brittle after just one season.
The parent company - which is in the Netherlands but which does have a UK warehouse - could not care less - completely uniterested in my problems. Either that or they were high on something found in Amsterdam cafes.
I was rescued by the original retailer, which after a four week delay managed to supply the clips and acryclic. Had to buy the glass locally as no one was interested in shipping it. VERY expensive at €100 a piece.
What annoys me more than the design / product quality issues is the attitude - complete disregard for customers / aftersales service / parts / maintenace and so on, which is not acceptable in a product that cost over €1400 and which is supposed to last for many years.
Although it does look great, I can't recommend this company simply because the follow-up customer service is so poor. B*llocks from Amsterdam as you might say....
Instructions are beyond a joke
We purchased a Halls Supreme Walled Garden before Christmas and I started to assemble it today. The instructions given are of such poor order it is hard to believe that anyone from Halls actually used them to assemble a unit. I spoke to a very good person on their help desk who is unable to send me anything clearer but did say they are being rewritten. As daft as this sounds, they need to look t how Lego write an assembly book. As a company I hope you take responsibility for accidents when these units collapse as these poor instructors will inevitably lead to injury in assembly and afterwards. Interesting that I cannot see any response from Halls on prior complaints!
P
my personal review
okay 1 year after purchasing my halls magnum 10 x 8 greenhouse . so i found the assembly instructions a bit of pain. { really poor } . built it in mid march 2023. it took me a week to build it due to weather conditions. parts on parts off, bolts in bolts out, cursing and swearing. .the glazing rubbers were a pain to fit i think the powder coating did not help . i did put extra clips in as i live 500 feet above sea level. but i lost a side pane of glass last week ,80mph storm . but i am really happy with my greenhouse . they say you get what you pay for . there are some really expensive greenhouses on the market. but for what i paid . and the help and friendliness of the staff at halls was excellent really good service anytime i phoned nothing was a problem. i would certainly purchase from again.
Wished I'd never heard of Halls…
Wished I'd never heard of Halls Greenhouses. Took months to build due to useless, confusing instructions. Changed opening windows for plain glass as constantly leaked. Bolts and clips made for dolls house! Snap and spring off all the time. Lost 10 panes of toughened glass in one night due to wind. Not fit for purpose and worry if it's even safe.
horrendous
Purchased a Greenhouse around 6 months ago and has recently collapsed despite being installed by and affiliate company.
The customer service is appalling, I have glass and metal all over my garden, so I am unable to allow my Children/dog into the garden.
No one wants to take responsibilty, The manufacturer Juliana in Denmark are also ignoring me.
£3,0000 down the drain...not good enough.
I am very sadly unable to upload photos to my review.
Magnum 10' x 8' Greenhouse with Toughened Glass
Our original Magnum greenhouse gave us 20 years of faultless service until it lost an argument with a falling tree branch in November 2022.
We replaced it with what we thought was the equivalent model but it has been very disappointing. We have had glass planes blown out on 4 separate occasions in the past 12 months but the toughened glass survived until the last incident 3 weeks ago.
The installation instructions only specify 8 clips per glass panel (1617 x 610mm) but even though we added an extra clip to each panel that was blown out, they are still being blown out in a strong wind. Our greenhouse is in a reasonably sheltered position so strong wind shouldn't be a problem.
I do not believe this glazing system is fit for purpose.
Assembly easy unless you are a bit thick
I have just finished assembly of a 10' x 6' popular greenhouse. First off all it was delivered a couple of weeks before Christmas on the date that was arranged. So all good there. Just be aware that if you have toughened glass it comes very well packed in a vertical pallet type of thing. So if you have steps it can only be left there as it's heavy.
Lots of people are moaning about the instructions being poor. I would actually think it's more like intellect level is poor. It really is not difficult to assemble at all if you take your time. If the pictures in the instructions are a bit photocopyesque, have a look on the internet. It's not rocket science at all. A bit of common sense goes a long way. If you have zero ( it would literally have to be zero) DIY skills. Get someone who has to help you.
All in all lovely greenhouse at a decent price.
Disappointed with product - zero customer s
Greenhouse took weeks to build - instructions looked like they had been photocopied many times so could not see which edge of each piece attaches where.
We bought the metal base which is an optional extra. Please be aware you will need to secure the frame to the base by drilling through and attaching with nuts & bolts- there is nothing provided to do this and it is not mentioned in the instructions. A strong gust of wind blew the frame along the base, bending & twisting the back frame. I contacted the company to tell them it was not fit for purpose but they don't want to know. We've not managed to even grow anything in it as it took most of the summer months to erect. Disappointed with the product and disgusted with their attitude.
Given a one star as no problem with delivery.
Greenhouse was delivered today and was…
Greenhouse was delivered today and was just left outside the back door on the path, blocking the way. I had left a space for it, but they completely ignored that and left extremely heavy pallet of glass with no means for us to move it.
Well I really like the greenhouse
Well I really like the greenhouse. Yes I was very surprised at the very small and flat pack that arrived, but once I got into it it was an enjoyable build. I make models as a hobby so perhaps that helped me with the instructions which as everyone has said are basic. However all the parts are packed in numbered bags and then each part is also numbered. The glass is also clearly packaged so I didn’t have a problem there. I purchased the base too, which I think is an essential to ensure a square and level base. Once this was concreted in I had a good solid base and everything from there fitted perfectly. It is built with low tolerances so again the base really is a must I feel.
Including the concrete and drying time and working maybe half a day everyday - it took me a week to build. I am however really pleased with the final product and proud of the present for my wife which I hope she will enjoy for a long time. The delivery driver in my case was very polite and helpful.
cheap made flimsy avoid
instructions are a nightmare the frame is cheap and the glass blows out all the time lost 4 panels. the glass is so flimsy not what i expected for the money paid. They dont give you even one spares clip and the replacement parts are extortionate
It’s made to leak!
Halls installers done a good job, but it leaks like a sieve and quote, it’s made to leak as its brand new with all parts new and it is positioned wrong!
Think again about halls greenhouse , go elsewhere !!
