WARNING do not buy their products
WARNING do not buy their products, they are absolute crap. I stupidly bought a lean to greenhouse from a dealer for £275. What a waste of money!!!!
1. The instructions are beyond awful, literally of no use at all
2. The window and door extrusions are so badly designed they don’t fit the frame, I had to hacksaw various sections off to make them fit and for the door to work at all
3. The roof transom holes are not in line properly so the transoms are not square making the glass fitting very dangerous and liable to crack.
In short, this appalling product is not fit for purpose, and worse still, very risky to cutting your fingers when you build the bloody thing - total rubbish.
Appallingly rude customer services team…
Appallingly rude customer services team and treatment by one greenhouse installer. Poor advice from ordering time - no consistency with advice and team is reliant on remote advice from installers who are self-employed. A series of errors from the team with their advice when I purchased the greenhouse and poorly skilled initial installer led to unacceptable rudeness from customer services team and incurred more expense for me, to the extent that this warranted a written complaint from me to the company's managing director (Juliana Group Ltd) who promised to investigate and come back to me but, I have never received any further response. I will not use Halls again and cannot recommend this company.
Halls qube greenhouse
Halls qube greenhouse Instructions are a joke finish is poor trims missing/not supplied . Door does not fit This was just not designed with any thought Keep clear of this
Ordering was the easy part shame about the rest
Ordering was the easy part, although I wish I'd spent more time reading the reviews and also paid for the installation service as the instructions are dreadful. My husband and I built the gh but struggled constantly with the paper instructions, even the online ones are poor. We resorted to you tube vids which helped massively. We still have an issue with the door assembly but Halls aren't interested and somehow dropped my call. Avoid, pay extra if you can and get a premium gh with better customer service. Disappointed and definitely wont be recommending 😞
Some good and bad points
I'm giving my balanced feedback on my end to end Popular 8x6 greenhouse purchase and build project.
There were times when I would have struggled to give a generous 1☆, but on reflection I feel 3☆ is fair.
Good points
Mainly based on the finished greenhouse; it looks good, seems sturdy (hurricanes excepted I guess), is roomy and mostly watertight. I had opted for polycarbonate but really didn't like it; it looks and feels cheap even though it's the most expensive option, and wouldn't let in sufficient light imho. So I requested a swap for toughened glass, which was done without fuss and minimal cost - basically no refund against the returned polycarbonate but no delivery charge.
Annie in Customer Service was always very helpful and knowledgeable.
Bad points
Very long lead time to initial delivery and no time window given, or call from the delivery guy as to when he would arrive. Similarly with the replacement glass. Luckily I was home on both occasions.
Some of the meccano pieces didn't have codes on, and none on any of the glass, so quite a bit of guesswork but didn't need a degree in rocket science in the end.
Some screws/bolts were missing too.
I'm not an engineer by training but being told there is 2mm tolerance in the position of punched holes for bolts and screws just can't be acceptable these days. It may not sound much but it all adds up, and in my case it led to a 6mm gap at the top of the front gable, which doesn't look great and means unwanted water ingress.
The instruction manual was appallingly bad, mine was a poor photocopy of just pictures with no words, and it was very hard to see if one piece went over or under another, resulting in more than one second attempt. And there were some errors on part numbers too. I was told that the new CEO comes from Lego and wants it all rewritten. Too late for me unfortunately and let's hope the new version is in true numpty-proof Lego style.
Having now purchased the 'drop and stop ends' for the gutters each side, I have 2 questions for Julian Group/Halls. Why are they 30mm across and not 32mm so standard black plastic pipe will fit (but flexible hose pipe will apparently)? Sadly its probably so a customer will buy their proprietary piping. And why aren't they supplied as standard instead of 4 gutter ends all with holes at the bottom?
Overall a frustrating experience with something I was looking forward to, but I'm fairly pleased with the end product. Having read some other reviews maybe the experience is down to pot luck.
Date of experience below is when I finally finished, some weeks after starting
Halls supreme 12x8 greenhouse
Halls were prompt in answering emails, and made good efforts to communicate by phone too. The delivery was good, arriving promptly and without fuss from the driver who carried everything in from the roadside. That's the good bit! As many others have stated, the assembly instructions are very poor, and only because I've assembled a gh before did I have much success, but even then it was a challenge at times. I'd thoroughly read the supplied booklet and was methodical in setting things out so this helped, but any possibility of using YouTube videos as a visual guide was dashed as I couldn't find much related to supreme 12x8. The greenhouse looks good so far and the base was easy to put together. Others have also mentioned, with cynicism, that halls have little interest in improving the instructions as they're keen to offer assembly services, which aren't cheap. So, in summary, greenhouse and base good, speedy of delivery also good, online/social media help poor and instructions... diabolical (chimps with crayons could have done a better job drawing the assembly process ).
We purchased a 4x2 lean to greenhouse.

The delivery time was great and the customer service from Rachel superb.
I have read many poor reviews on the assembly instructions provided but really had no issues to assemble the greenhouse.
Very happy with the construction quality and looks great.

I paid lots of money for a greenhouse with installation weeks ago and still they can not give me a delivery date or a an installation date. Not impressed
Frustration and elation.
Wanted a greenhouse for years and decided on a Halls Popular 6 x 10 toughened glass greenhouse with base. Once the base was installed I started on assembling the frame. I have given a score of 4 because the instructions are really bad. There are no written instructions only poor quality drawings that are faded and it is hard to make out what goes where. I used my laptop and looked at the pdf files and you can see much better online. The rubber strip that you have to attach yourself is OK once you have done a few, I found it easier to spray a squirt of silicone spray initially and that helped. You have to study the instructions closely as you need some loose bolts in the frame that will be used later on,ie; around the opening window frames. The elation came when I put the last piece of glass spring clip in, I am very happy with the end result. And apart from the poor instructions, it was very easy to assemble on my own, even with one damaged right hand. If I had the room I would get a second unit.
Having read some of the recent reviews...
Having read some of the recent reviews, I find myself in agreement with many of them - the actual kit is quite well designed (apart from the ridiculously difficult to fit black plastic brackets which hold the glass in place). I recently bought an 8x6 greenhouse. The instructions are dreadfully, dreadfully awful - vague, ambiguous, not in sequence and poorly drawn. Surely if your'e selling an expensive item, there is an onus on you to provide accurate and easy to follow instructions and also number/code each piece properly. I wouldn't recommend this firm.

Brilliant Greenhouse - top quality
Purchased the 8x6 even though some of the reviews I read were suggesting this company provide a rubbish product. I’m in my mid 70’s and have never built a greenhouse before. The greenhouse kit was delivered in just 2 weeks from ordering which was impressive. I dug out the instruction manual and spent a couple of hours reading through it to get an idea of how complicated it would be to build. The instructions clearly say ‘follow the numbers on the packs’.
I was an engineering toolmaker for half of my working life so have no fears of tools or how to use them. The other half of my working life was running a computer maintenance and supply/support company.
I made a start building on Tuesday and following the very well written instructions I had no problem assembling the base. Making sure to get everything square and level, Tuesday afternoon saw the base laid. The rain then interrupted progress until Thursday morning.
Thursday I completed the main frame and door mechanism. Once again I thought the instruction manual was excellent. Mounting the greenhouse onto the base was easy as everything was square and level.
Friday morning I fitted all the glass and had no issues apart from the amount of time it takes to fit all the rubber seal strips.
Overall the greenhouse is well designed with quality material. Can’t fault the finished product.
5 stars for Halls Greenhouses.
PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY
I purchased a Halls greenhouse based on their long standing name and reputation but totally regretted it. The instructions were appalling and design terrible. I had to enlist the help of a friend who has built his own house and he had never seen anything so poorly designed. Please avoid this company.
Terrible Product and Experience
I recently purchased a Halls Magnum 8*12, and it has been a costly disappointment. On the first windy day, a glass panel popped out, and since then, the greenhouse has been plagued with leaks from every corner, door, and window. While I didn't expect it to be completely watertight, the extent of water ingress is astonishing—it literally pours in. Upon contacting support and providing a video showcasing the steady stream of water from the front corners, I received a dismissive response suggesting that the issue might improve as the structure ages and advising me to apply silicone sealant. Frankly, this product does not meet its intended purpose, and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
Very happy with our greenhouse
Very happy with our greenhouse we bought the Halls Popular 6 x 6 in black. Yes the instructions were not the best but didn’t take too long to figure them out. As someone else said you can find answers on the internet. Soaking the rubber gaskets in hot water really helped. We found the whole process very smooth customer service answered our queries quickly and greenhouse came in the 2/4 week timeframe. We are both over 70 and the greenhouse took us 3 days to make and put in place. My only criticism is I would have liked the choice of black glass clips rather than silver
If you value your marriage avoid buying from Hall greenhouses.
I'm not one for leaving negative reviews really but after this experience i hope others can avoid the stress.
Well I was lulled into buying a Halls supreme curved 6 x 6 greenhouse after much searching. Excitement quickly turned into despair! Correspondence reguarding delivery date and time minimal. Stated restricted access on order. They sent it via a 35ft truck which blocked the main highstreet while a nice young chap helped me carry everything 75yards to my house. The assembly instructions are abysmal, photos blurred, confusing and nothing really in any sort of logical order. No correct code numbers on any of the glass packs. It's taken a week so far to put it together and we are still trying to fathem out where all the small strips of glass go. Give this company a
miss if you want to avoid divorce! Seriously never have we ever experienced such useless instructions. Far too complicated. Halls you need a rethink, and don't get me started on the tiny rubber seal strips for the glass. They nearly drew blood. These could have been fitted prior to delivery. This company obviously want you to pay their fitting fee. It seems strong enough but remains to be seen, but building it caused so much stress.
Strangely enough no after delivery email to check everything is OK or to ask for a review! They didn't even provide a tracking number for delivery. Apparently they don't provide that either. Off to finish day six of assembly before it gets dark .
Today had my halls popular greenhouse…
Today had my halls popular greenhouse assembly today by Dan he was so helpful and could not do enough, did a fantastic job and the greenhouse looks fantastic,
The ladys at customer services was very helpful.
10 out of 10 thanks to all
Masquerading as quality
First strong wind, this piece of crap blew down. And - living in a fairly exposed site - we'd upgraded to stronger, 'stormproof' materials at extra cost! From delivery (the glass was inadequately packed, and the company took zero responsibility) to construction (extremely fiddly and poor instructions. Absolutely nothing is prefabricated) this has been a deeply unpleasant and expensive experience. I should also say, the agents who represent this product are doing themselves no favours either.
Poor Instructions.
I purchased the Halls Popular greenhouse 8x6. The quality of the greenhouse is good but the building instructions are poor. Halls need to rewrite the instructions. Would I buy another greenhouse from Halls if the instructions don’t improve - no!
Not recommended
I have an allotment and have assembled two secondhand greenhouses with minimum effort and no instructions, so readily agreed to help my son in law with a new Halls greenhouse. From a technical engineering background I thought it would be an absolute doddle. The instructions are incomprehensible and poorly printed so that there is no differentiation between component joining pieces: could be U, L, V, who knows? You are advised to build the frame first and then install glass, but it’s impossible as there’s no rigidity, and you need this on larger models as you build two structures which must then marry up. The ‘toughened’ glass is incredibly fragile; we were responsible for a piece breaking, but two large sheets simply disintegrated without any shock. So far, 3 competent men, have spent 27 frustrating hours, and the thing is still not finished. I have no positive remarks to make. It seems to be based on the Rubik’s cube idea, eventually we should triumph. But not yet. The cheap, secondhand models I erected (one took only an afternoon) went together without hassle, and will be fit for purpose for years to come.
Terrible customer service, very difficult to assemble
Phoned the company for help with assembling their Magnum 10x8 greenhouse. They were very unfriendly and condescending. Basically spoke to me like a piece of s***. My relative had spent thousands on it and I was only trying to help get it assembled after someone let her down. The greenhouses are very hard to assemble and instructions aren’t clear at all. Some of the glass was poor quality and shattered without any impact. I understand we’d made mistakes in the assembly, but there was no need to be spoken to in such an unfriendly way. Dreadful company, don’t buy anything from them.
