Well to start with, who ever desnged the door whats to go back to enginering collage! If I emplyed him/her they would be SACKED, total rubbish!!
No locking system,no chance of anywere to fit one,
and the top roller system`s too small and the bottom atachment is so small and flimsy it relyes on a tiny pice of plastic 4 mm to hold the bottom of the door fron dislodging it`s a joke.
My new( 6 week old) Halls popular 8x6 is in a very sheltered place from north , south east and west yet the door managed to unhook its self and smash all the glass. The door assembly is what can only be disscribed as CHEAP &NASTY. Come on Halls get a grip and make your Halls popular fit for purpose,as they are they are quite cheap and flimsy
Sack the donut who thought stickers were a good idea
I have a Palram greenhouse but bought the two tier staging and seed rack from Halls. 1st the quality of the kit is great, very pleased. The instructions are rubbish, but anyone who is a little practical works it out quickly.
Reason for the loss of stars is Halls had a great idea which was to hard stamp the part number on each part made but then some joker there decided it would also be a good idea to put hard tack stickers with the same part name on each part.
Taking these off literally doubled the assembly time as they just wouldn't peel off.
If I bought a full greenhouse and this was on all parts I would have been fuming.
Cotswald birdlip
The instructions are a total joke and building this thing was almost impossible, i suggest hiring somebody to build it for you. Btw delivery was also long
Instructions useless
Appalling- delivery took an age. Instructions are a total joke, just pictures which are of really poor quality. 10 days after delivery still only have basic frame together. Buy your greenhouse from a decent manufacturer
DO NOT BUY!!!
I purchased a 12x8 Magnum 6mm polycarbonate greenhouse and wish I hadn’t bothered. My husband and I have put a greenhouse together in the past which was fine so we thought this wouldn’t be a problem. Big mistake! The instructions are absolutely atrocious. The pictures are cheap photocopies and are not clear. There are many steps completely missing so you need to be able to second guess how it should go together. It’s not good quality, the bolts are cheap and nasty and we are now going to have to try and silicone the 4 corners as it leaks. The design is absolutely useless. I could never recommend a Halls greenhouse, look elsewhere and spend your hard earned money with a company that produces better quality products.
Sadly no stars from me terrible company
Sadly i have to give this company 1 star if i could i would give no stars ordered a greenhouse on the 15th Feb 2025 we are now 29th May 2025 still no greenhouse . Was told max 10 weeks then email come 6 to 8 weeks 14 weeks later still no greenhouse . I hate these companies that over promise and under deliver . Now told them to cancel the order and refund my money . I wouldn't buy a second hand wheelbarrow off them. No customer service skill just hopeless buy from these at your peril
Warning - instruction manual incomprehensible!
We bought a Burford greenhouse and waited in anticipation for its arrival. My daughter, the flat pack Queen helped us. 2 hours later we erected the sides, but could not for the life of us work out how to put them together. You tubed it as instructions in manual useless and very unclear! You Tube stories were the same as how we felt, instructions bad and they couldn’t do it either. Wrote to manufacturer who said a technical would phone us which was no help as we needed to physically see how to do it. Exasperated, I’m now paying for installer to come and in the process of waiting a month for them to come! How hard would it be to rewrite the manual with easily read instructions? Wanted to send the thing back and buy wooden shed but told installer could erect it and hoping they do (it will take him a day - so no wonder we struggled if they erect them every day and it takes that long). Another point, if you buy staging and shelves ensure you add extra bolts to the frame as you build it because you can’t fit them retrospectively (manual doesn’t tell you this).
Halls Qube Greenhouse - The Divorcer
Halls Qube Greenhouse, aka, the Divorcer.
It all started so well.
New house, new location, dream life.
To pop the cherry on the utopian dream my partner, V, wanted to get a greenhouse (I had managed to decline the cat and dog).
The Halls Qube - revolutionary design, works in an almost hurricane, pretty. A bit on the pricier side, but class and quality costs.
All arrived. All fine. Unpacked, un-phased.
Instructions. Here the problems began. It’s like trying to follow James Joyce Ulysses.. Written in Dutch (I do not speak Dutch). I got V to look. We went back and forth - debating how to interpret point one on page 1 and whether the screw labelled 4376oE was the same as 4376o. Things got tense. She went to bed. I worked through the evening into the night.
It was at this stage we started spending more time sleeping in separate rooms.
I built, rebuilt, amended and corrected. I followed instructions that didn’t quite make sense and a structure that didn’t quite fit together started to emerge.
That was the base section almost done.
I thought I best get help. Luckily we have connections to 2 engineers (although 1 is chemical - but she assures me that they are better). Again not much luck. They helped get it up in the end.
However because the supporting poles all look the same and some only differ by ~2cm it’s easy to get things wrong. A 2 cm gap is problematic when trying to fit a pre-measured bit of glass.
Un-assembly and re-assembly. By this time my children had stopped calling me dad. I was outside for days trying to build this thing. I had sunburn on areas universally covered by underclothing.
I started seeking a higher power. I called the Juliana helpline. By this time V and I had distanced. She wanted no further part in the greenhouse and was again searching for nearby litters of kittens for sale.
On calling the helpline I met a genuinely helpful person, let’s call her R. She tried to provide the support and listening ear to get the wretched glass tomb of sorrow built. We spoke on the phone, we emailed. V picked up on this other woman in my life whom I was spending more time with.
It didn’t end well. I’m now divorced. I’ve lost the new house, the dream life. Luckily I still have a roof over my head, albeit a bit shaky with glass that could come out any minute… Also I worry about the wonky door letting in a breeze over winter.
Divorced - it gives you time to think. There was an option to pay Juliana an extra ~£550 to have someone build the greenhouse for you. Gentleman called Gregory, half French/Italian. Former Calvin Klein model who now works as a tennis coach and sideline greenhouse builder. Would have saved me a lot of physical work and headache - although I think the end result would have been the same.
Don’t try to achieve your dreams - you may be disappointed.

Just taken delivery of a 4X2 lean to greenhouse mainly to help raise some seeds or maybe grow some tomatoes.
I really wish I hadn’t bothered!
Everything came well packed only trouble was the instructions are grey and black, badly printed and totally incomprehensible. Numerous numbers suck on the individual items of frame but no coherent clue on how to actually put it together. I’ve managed to assemble many flat packed furniture units in the past but this is really beyond me! Totally wasted 4 hours got 1 section of frame bolted together with no clue if it was correct or not.
I am going to request a refund of my £300 plus on the grounds that the thing is basically impossible to assemble.
Please save yourself a whole load of grief and anger…don’t buy this impossible puzzle product.
I’ve reboxed it for a return trip.
Not happy!
Impossible to put together
I bought a small lean-to tomato grennhouse, thinking it would be straightforward to put it up. It was not. The instruction manual is beyond a joke, it is an insult. Very little text and the images are no help at all, being at best unclear and often plain wrong. Setting the thing up was hugely frustrating. Unnecessarily so.
Not robust.
Had a 10x8 magnum greenhouse installed last summer. Delivery was fine. It was assembled by the installer without any problem . Took about 6 hours. Over winter the roof lights were damaged by wind. On inspection I found some of the tiny screws that held them together had sheared off.
Later a large glass side panel was blown out by the wind. It is as though the clips are not sufficient to hold the glass in place.
What a piece of crap
What a piece of crap. Absolutely gutted that I spent hard earned money on this piece of rubbish. The instruction manual isn't worth the paper it is badly printed on no clear directions on what screws to use or what way the pieces are meant to go. On line videos are of little use.steer well clear
DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A HALLS GREENHOUSE
I would give this 0 stars if I could, it's not worth the one I've had to give to make the review. I bought an 8' x 10' Halls Magnum approx 3 years ago from a local distributor and paid extra to have 2 auto roof vents, an aluminium base and safety glass plus professional erection on a pre-prepared level concrete flag base. Over the last 3 years, I have erected a fence and planted a protective quick growing hedge around it. I added additional stainless steel glazing clips bought online from Amazon as not enough clips were supplied by Halls and those that were supplied quickly rusted away. Because of the flexing of the light duty framework I paid for multiple polycarb panels to be cut and fitted to replace broken glass in even the lightest of winds. The latest storm has left it a tangled mess of lightweight alluminium, glass and polycarb. These greenhouses are far too flimsy for the UK & Ire climate and certainly not worth the money charged by Halls. DO NOT BUY! I have a quote for a direct replacement for our insurers but if they pay out I will be adding more cash to buy a more robust greenhouse rather than this lightweight rubbish.
big companies big profits poor everything else
Hi All, Third round of curved panels for the supreme 12ftx8ft. Replaced 12 panels of normal glass over 2 years. paid £64 including delivery to Ireland. up to 144 euro to have them delivered. Have to pay tax but they mislead me on the order, asking for more money. I am a builder and I find the halls greenhouse make to break. They make there money on the glass in after sales. I told them I wasn't happy and was writing a review. No contact so we have a bad review. would I buy another one, no. up to twice the price in replacement parts.
Rubbish quality!
I had seen some gardening sites recommending this particular brand so I decided to buy it this year. However I now wish I had read the posts here before doing so!! It is my first greenhouse and I realise now that I have picked the worst one. I have spent around £1500 including labour. Was so excited to see my expensive plants cope better this winter but I guess with the glass and clips popping out by themselves I guess that won't be the case.
I am certainly going to go to the consumer advisory body, as such products shouldn't be on the market. A total lack of quality monitoring and in my view it's a money making scam for the manufacturer and their suppliers.
12x10 Magnum.
12x10 Magnum.
Appalling quality. First storm blew out the roof lights (held together by 15mm screws), second storm blew out most of the glass and twisted the frame. About to take it down and off to the dump £1700 poorer. No compensation, just acknowledgement that it is not very robust. Don't be drawn in by its looks. It really shouldn't be on sale.
I recently purchased a 10x8 magnum…
I recently purchased a 10x8 magnum greenhouse from this company and paid extra for installation. When the installer arrived I requested he put extra glass clips in the roof to counter the prevailing westerly wind. He then told me that the company only supply a certain number of clips for each pane. Honestly you couldn't make it up. How much is a glass clip? Unfortunately for me and before I could re enforce the glass the winds came the same day and blew out 2 roof panes. The build quality is atrocious. The screws holding the roof vents in are too small to withstand the weather and I have no faith in the building lasting the winter. Do not waste your money on this product.
Update from last review..
Update from last review...the storm today 74mph winds have damaged the green house....securing bracket at the corner failed and green house moved off base (was concreted in) and although protected by a 6ft wall facing winds constant flexing of end side wall caused loss of glass......now losing glass ...very disappointed....a former humble cheap greenhouse had stood there in the same location for 25years and weathered like storms with loss of 1 pane of glass
Conclusion...Halls your greenhouse is just not robust enough....winds cause a flexing effect to damage structure, and losing of glass
On passing of the storm...I will take apart and down the recycle tip
