Pre orders can't be canceled?

I pre ordered an item from this storefront. I needed to make a change roughly 20 minutes after I ordered it. I was told because I waited too long the order had already been fullfilled. Keep in mind this was a pre order and the release date was over a month away and 20 minutes had passed. Have you ever heard of a pre order you can't cancel? I haven't... After contacting their so called customer service and being fed nonsense from them they said I can refuse the order when UPS delivers it. Well guess what release day came and went no delivery at all. Finally a week later a ups package was on my porch...funny how that one package didn't need to be signed for even though every other package I have ever had that required a signuature had to be signed. (I am saying they called and canceled that directly to ups)

This company thinks that because they will go out of their way to make your life hard you won't get your refund think again. This is no Japan. This is America. We have consumer protections. Now I start the process of a return with them. They will be given one week to produce acceptable results or I will be contacting my bank and going that route.

I will never ever purchase anything from their storefront again. Horrible company and horrible people. I don't even want to buy their games anymore after this. This has been nothing but a waste of time...a painful one at that. AVOID these clowns.

Square is one of the most ruthless gaming companies and have very offensive and disrespectful content on many games.
First of all, they do business with many gacha game companies that are shady and predatory such as GUMI, which develop expensive Global version gatcha games, that have the Square logo and eventually these gacha games end after a few years,
so players lose their money and game progress. Basically you could say that these type of games are heists. Square takes no responsibility and instead they advertise these games on their social media to maximize profit. Also as I have mentioned in my review about GUMI, when War Of The Visions , that has the Square logo, ended service they refunded only South Korean and Taiwan players which is unfair
and when I asked the reason they didn't responded, so they are probably racists and USA citizens, Europeans and others mean nothing to them. Square didn't gave me an explanation for this either.
Many Square games are anti religion especially against Christianity but lately, as I found out, FF14 main story is very insulting and offensive against Ancient Greek religion, Hellenism (which is still practiced) and against Ancient Greek History. Basically every Ancient Greek Deity is crazy and evil on the main story quest. The death of Athena is one of the most disgusting scenes that I have seen in my life in a game/movie. As a Greek I consider these contents very offensive/disrespectful and I have mentioned all of this to Square in the past which does nothing about it, they still keep offending everything Ancient Greek related and of course notice that they avoid disrespecting their own Japanese religions, which is another indication that they are racists.
On their last expansion of Final Fantasy 14 I had terrible lag/delay on frontlines at a point that i couldn't play anymore and their customer just didn't care when I mentioned this.
Also I have asked for a refund many times about their gacha games and they refused it. Case number 00297737.

Just realized no cross over for gear…

Just realized no cross over for gear from ff7 remake to rebirth. Slow and boring seems to be SE's business model now. I thought we were getting three parts of the same game not three games I would have to level up each time. Never again will this greedy company waste my time.

Misleading Purchase Process – Hidden Subscription

I recently purchased the Final Fantasy XIV Complete Edition under the assumption that I was buying a full game. At no point during the checkout process was it made explicitly clear that the game requires a separate, ongoing monthly subscription just to access the content I paid for. The only mention of this was buried in fine print or hidden in the user agreement — nowhere near the purchase button, nowhere prominent.

After realizing this only after payment, I reached out to Square Enix for a refund. I hadn’t touched any paid content, hadn’t finished installing, and made the request in good faith. Their response? A blanket “no refunds” policy, pointing to the EULA I "accepted" mid-purchase. No consideration, no flexibility, no customer support — just policy and links.

This kind of practice feels intentionally misleading and absolutely exploitative to anyone unfamiliar with MMORPG pricing models. Square Enix has shown they care more about short-term revenue than long-term trust. I’ve initiated a chargeback through my payment provider and won’t be purchasing anything from them again.

If you’re thinking of buying the game, know this: you are paying upfront for a product you won’t even be allowed to keep playing unless you subscribe monthly. That should be the first thing you see on the page — not buried in fine print.

So 4 days after downloading rhezgame on…

So 4 days after downloading rhezgame on the ps5. I'm on square emiz site trying to buy a sub with 0 luck on how to do it. Like, it's so hard to sub and play.
Every time I do something on their site, it logs he out and I need to reply in again.
After 30 minutes I can't even sub because I still haven't found it.
I can't even ask on the forums as you need a sub active to participate on their forums.

It's a never ending cycle or just trying to find out where to sub to FF xiv

i use to buy my subs from the store then the store said sold out for months i lost my house and 450 dollers of stuff from the store so yea its bs . then i find out subs delayed due to dawntrail and thats bs . if the store sold me my subs when i needed it i wouldnt have this problem it cool when your friends dad is the president of the usa

No customer service

Tried to report a bug with the login screen that persist for more than 2 years where it hogs 100% of the CPU on win platforms. I gave them all the data I had, the hardware specs (one of the best cpu and gpu on the market) and a reproduction scenario

After about 20 emails of pure nonsense I gave up. There will be literally no help and they don't even have any logs in any kind of way that they can use for the support. They never intend to fix any bugs period.

Extremely slow

Extremely slow. Bought a digital code for FFXIV expansion. After 4 hours don't even have it. It basically was a waste of money since I had planned to play that day and can't in the near future. Any digital game I've bought elsewhere I just got a code instantly. Terrible and regret buying it since I can't refund.

Disappointed and ruined game

They keep ruining FFXIV Online with pointless updates that either make the gameplay worse or break mechanics and features. Their greed and incompetence have ruined the game. The executives are masters at making poor business decisions. I have cancelled my subscription in protest.

Square enix Are IP hoarders

Square enix are just hoarders who don’t really care about their customers they’re selling products to or the community’s that play their games! They refuse to sell old IP games to community’s when they know they make little to no money on them no more and don’t update them or even touch them no more instead of selling it off making their last buck and appreciating the company they shut you down and give you nothing.

Grateful my issue was fixed so quickly

I just want to start this off by saying it's clear that unfortunately many people have had bad experiences with Square Enix Customer Support, and so I was torn when I one of my figures I received from them snapped above the ball joint when I was (carefully) trying to pose it. After seeing the negative and totally valid reviews I considered trying to glue it back together but I wouldn't be able to change the pose or anything.
I decided to email them and they were so quick to respond. I sent it back and they covered the delivery costs once they received it, and a new one arrived in a couple of days despite it now being sold out as a preorder.
I feel bad for anyone who hasn't had the same experience and wish every issue/ticket across all companies could be like mine was. Very grateful and impressed with how quick it was resolved.

FF14 great game TERRIBLE Terms of Service and Customer service

FF14 is a GREAT game IF, you do not like talking. Because of medieval over policed and vague terms of service; report trolls have made the MMO aspect UNPLAYABLE.

If you make a game and call it an MMO; players MUST be able to communicate freely WITHOUT being penalized otherwise their is NO community worth joining.

I have never played an MMO before where the major towns are dead silent cause everyone is afraid of talking because they might lose their accounts like 1500's England.

This is why WOW was so successfully, despite their graphics and content not being the best, their freedom to communicate as a community made the game famous.

SE already has speech filters and ways to turn off their speech completely to people who are CONSTANTLY "offended" yet, they abuse the report system instead.

SE wanna fix their games? Get rid of the dumb anti-community terms of service that punish speech in and out the game. Ban the bots and RMT fine but, STOP punishing regular players for community speech!

If the influencers players who promote your game were to type their speech in game, they would all be banned.

Trolls do who speak in a game do ruin the game for anyone; that why the filters and blacklist exist.

Trolls who use the TOS and report system to dictate WHO can speak and play RUINS the game for EVERYONE!

User Account interface was made so…

User Account interface was made so incredibly unintuitively that every time I have gone to play their games, I have spent an hour trying to navigate their broken, misfunctioning user interface and then given up.

Their UX designer should be forcibly relocated underwater.

Don't even both contacting Customer Support

To call it customer support would honestly just be a lie. I swear they actively try to make your experience worse. My phone recently broke and I lost my FFXIV authenticator/software token thing. So I contacted them trying to get it removed so I could access my account. Well, because the name on my ID doesn't match my account (an account made 10+ years ago,) I was told I'd have to update my account info before they could remove the authenticator. Easy enough, I thought.

Wrong. I sent in a ticket to update my name and I was told no, because- get this- my ID doesn't match the name on my account. Like, obviously, that's why I'm trying to change it? I was then told the information was fabricated and they wouldn't change it, effectively locking me out of my account. I offered every other possible form of account verification I could; order numbers, credit card information, even product registration codes. They essentially sent me the same pre-made email template, then blocked my email from sending in tickets.

Do yourself a favor and play a game from literally any other company.

Purchase an item that wasn't able to be returned

I ordered a product that wasn't what I wanted and try to returned it. It took customer service over a month to reply only to return said item only for them to deny it because it was opened. The packaging the item came in didn't have a seal so I was sent an item that couldn't be returned at all.

Very bad after-sales service

I spent a lot of time contacting customer service, and their customer service was very segmented, so I was directed to different service links.

This took me a lot of time.

The final answer I got was that they don't provide support for third-party platforms.

I had a problem buying their company's games. Steam asked me to go to Square enix, and Square enix asked me to go to Steam customer service.

This is a terrible way to handle this. There is no guarantee at all when purchasing a game.
