Square enix is a terrible company
Square enix is a terrible company. First and foremost their games are the most glitched up, buggy, stress inducing games I've ever dealt with. They're lazy when it comes to improving the game, they don't seem to care about anything that's wrong with the game (bugged out characters, in game missions closing or kicking you out, or the game itself constantly crashes and freezes.) There was a exploit in the game "Marvels avengers" where you can do high DPS with a certain character, what square enix did was INSTANTLY got rid of the exploit and made it to where you can no longer access that exploit. Meanwhile the game itself is still buggy, characters are buggy, freezing, crashing, all this BS is still in the game and they claim they have no control over it.....what a load of BS. Square enix is like a stepchild who thinks they deserve the best when they dont. Oh and the date of experience, this has been going on for a LONG period of time and not just the day that it says.

My first time buying from this place has left me feeling disappointed and disgusted with square enix, have been a life long fan of the brand/company but I won't ever buy directly from them ever. Save Urself some heart ache n go local game shop as they can't for fill my order but happy to take money. Simple terms really bad, looks horrible with glitches and framerate issues.
This game itself seems ok at first not as good as Valkyrie profile 1 on the psx, not by a long shot, but not many can match that game. This Valkyrie Elysium game is just average, for a bit of mindless button bashing fun with the same enemies repeated over and over.
It is just the framerates and poor graphics are just too bad to view, only the characters look decent, so blurry though. I can't continue playing it sorry, though the combos and attacks are fun for a short while but, its just too bland of a world to enjoy it.
You can switch between Japanese and English audio and have English subtitles. I personally prefer Japanese Audio with English subtitles. As someone who's used to Nioh games It won't let me guard with the R1 button the control schemes are mandatory arbitrary and there's no way to customize how you want it to be.

Have to say even just 1 week in, this is the worse game I have ever played, even giving it a try, its mostly button bashing, that becomes boring really quickly, the enemies are boring and come at you over and over, the same enemies over and over, really really boring. This should have been made with 2D hand drawn art, or 3D unreal engine by Tri-Ace instead, and a Valkyrie profile 1 style would be better, but with HD resolution graphics.
It needs new storyline/gameplay/graphics/sound/tweak in game mechanics, keeping the original characters Lenneth, Freya, Lezard, Brahms, Silmeria, Hrist, Alicia, but mostly keeping to the original series Valkyrie profile 1 on the playstation 1. It doesn't look like this new game Valkyrie Elysium is good if the 1st game is still the best by far that is made in the late 90's.
I have the game on ps4 from Amazon, as of late, I have played it at a friends house who has both on ps5 and xbox series X versions, frame rates are better on the newer consoles, graphics a bit better too, but the gameplay and everything else remains the same, and so does my review sorry I do not like this game one bit, you may like it, I don't.
When games this bad are accepted in our world, what hope do we have for future generations to raise their standards so we can get better games released?
More UK SE Store customer support woes
First off, on a positive note, the SE store's shipping team are absolutely on point. I placed my order at 9am on the Friday and delivery was attempted on Saturday morning. If it wasn't for the customer support failures, this would be a 5 star review, no questions.
So why the negativity? I placed an order for Tactics Ogre Reborn at the SE store. Whilst it was significantly cheaper elsewhere, SE's store still clearly indicated on the order page that you would get a pretty cool looking steelbook case with the order. I'm a fan of nicknacks like that and as such, SE got my money and the order was placed.
A quick CS inquiry confirmed that I actually wouldn't get the steelbook as they were all gone and unfortunately the dispatch team had beaten customer services to the job and already processed it. The CS rep recommended I decline the delivery as they were unable to cancel the order at this point.
Ok that's annoying but whatever. And it only went downhill from there.
After luckily managing to decline the parcel due to it being delivered to my work address and me actually being there to catch the postie, I was then told that I'll have to wait 2 weeks after then, contact them again so they could try to find my return and start the refund because it doesn't have any tracking.
My beef with this is that at no point have SE's customer support been remotely accommodating of the simple fact that this mess is their own fault. The steelbook bonus still being listed was their error and tried to cancel within minutes of realising I wasn't going to get it to no avail. This mistake is on them and yet I'm the one having to remember to chase them up about it?
The highlight for me is from Sabrina:
'we have thousands of customer queries to handle a month and the same for the warehouse and the amount of parcels. You chose the shipping method without a tracking ID so due to this the only solution is the one explained.'
And for all their faults, companies like Amazon deal with millions of parcels in the same time frame but are at least able to handle a return without me having to beligerently chase up the situation. Is the Customer service and returns that much of a clown shower that you can't keep a track of a return when it's your own fault? And no, it's not purely big companies that get it right. My support dealings with smaller companies like Noctua, Hope and so forth have always been an absolute pleasure.
Incase someone from SE's UK Customer service team does actually read this, here's a free support tip:
'Hello and apologies for the error! Unfortunately the website team didn't remove the preorder bonus from the product page in time and sadly our stock of steelbooks has been cleared. Additionally our warehouse team has dispatched the item already and it should be with you either tomorrow or Monday. If you are able, please decline the delivery and we will get a refund issued back to you as soon as it lands back with us. If you haven't been issued your refund after 2 weeks, please get straight back in contact with us and we will chase it up. Thank you and apologies for the confusion over this matter.'
That ones on the house, sadly, as is this 1 star review. My apologies to the warehouse team, you peeps deserve better.
30 days to solve a simple matter
30 days for a simply matter of buying the wrong item, this is insane. After 30 days, still did not get any reassuring answer about if I am going to get my item or not. I bought the wrong item, was forced to delete it and now I am over 30 days without anything. Worse support desk I have ever seen.
Poor Customer Service
Literally bought a figurine of the main character of Nier Replicant, yet they sent me the main character of Nier Automata instead. What's funny, is that they sent that figurine (2b) in the nier replicant box. I think that made me even more pissed than I would have been originally. Now I have been trying to get an answer from customer service, and it has been awful. They sent me to other departments and refuse to even address the blatant issue. Do not buy from their store. It's a scam honestly. They aren't cheap, so this made it even more annoying.

Most confusing website I have ever tried navigating. I can't believe this is up in 2022. I.... I don't have the words to express my astonishment or my confusion.
They linked my account to someone else's account with out my permission and then chased me for money that person apparently owed.
I made an account at the start of August 2022. I bought FF14 collectors edition, it was recommended by a friend, so I thought I would give it a go.
After setting up my account with no errors what so ever, I tried to set up a monthly subscription via the mogstation. At this point I encountered an error.
I got in touch with customer services, only to be informed by Square Enix that they had linked my account to another account which they claimed owed them money. They apparently did this because my address flagged up.
So basically my account had been linked by Square Enix (they claimed automatically) to another account with out my consent and with out my permission and with out following protocol. Protocol says that to link an account to another account both accounts must do some sort of process, well that never happened.
I asked the customer support team to undo this account linking thing they had done. They instead demanded my ID documents off me and kept insisting they now had to follow protocol, They also kept demanding this apparent money I apparently owed them.
When I asked for information about this money they kept demanding off of me, they said that I needed to pay them, told me how to pay them (send the money to this address all that crap) but they point blank refused to tell me what I was apparently paying for, they refused to give me details of the apparent transactions or anything, no date of the transactions no amount of the transaction no nothing, just kept demanding money from me.
I kept informing them that they had made a mistake and explained the issue with the address, which they had actually mentioned and said was the reason for this mess, they claimed they understood the issue but would need proof of this. I didn't quite understand what they meant by this and when I asked them they were very unhelpful.
They eventually admitted their mistake but then told me they would be unable to do anything with out confirmation from the other person who's account they had linked me to, but that they couldn't contact that person because client confidentiality prevented them from doing this. Honestly at this point I was rolling my eyes with how badly this company had handled this situation that they themselves had just admitted they had made.
They however did admit eventually I had nothing to do with this other account, but still their hands were tied. So my account which they admit they linked linked to someone else's account, someone else who I have no connection to, now has "arrears" and I am unable to access it until that has been paid, even though I have nothing to do with this other account, and am not at all linked to this other account, and even though Square Enix admitted their mistake. Honestly what an amazing system this company has they totally mess up, they admit they mess up, but they wont do anything to rectify that at all, its more a case of "get on with it"
Honestly what a disaster of a company, they clearly do not follow customer care or client confidentiality, they also do not seem to follow their own company's protocols, and when they make mistakes that mess someone's account up they don't care even though they are 100% to blame and even admit they are 100% to blame. Its a shame that FF14 is highly recommended, and run by this crap company that does not care about its customers at all.
Honestly I'm just contacting my bank to get my money back and alerting the fraud department to this in case they do attempt to take the money from my account, the money which they have admitted I do not owe them and have no connection to, but yet keep asking me to pay to access my account which they linked to someone else's account by mistake.
What they have done is basically chased me for money someone else apparently owes them, they admit I have no connection to this person but claim because my address starts off the same they linked me to this person.
I have never had this trouble before with anyone else ever, so I highly doubt their excuse is the truth, if it is though then what idiot came up with the system they are using.

Square Enix is a great gaming company, but their EU Store is a joke.
I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy serie, but every time I need to interact with them, I'm disgusted.
Last time I ordered from their EU store, and the product was sent from US. I paid the import fee, and struggled with their Customer Service to get a refund (clearly their mistake)

Horrible account management.
The customer service around Square Enix's Final Fantasy 14 is just awful. I ended up getting locked out of my account after re-activating. Then the automated system didn't send me an e-mail. Then they wanted me to call them, all while my monthly subscription is running. They make okay games, but the account management and automation system leaves very much to be desired. I am still locked out of my account and have wasted my money, and need to waste more time and money to reclaim my account. Honestly, it's a step away from theft. It's corporate robbery via incompetence.

If I could give 0 I would, spent money on Final Fantasy 14, tried to log into my account and it said passowrd incorrect. So i changed my password and logged into the website fine, however, to set up for FF14 you have to go to the Square Enix Account Management, where I put in the same login details as I was told to, but I won't log in. Says information is incorrect when I know it isn't. Spent 2 hours to get no where, and find out you can't link my PSN account to a new account, its permanantly linked to my old one. Now I have paid £11 for a game I can't even play. Worst services I have ever had, will be in contact with PSN about a refund, because I'm not gonna let SE have my money for such an awful website.

Abysmal customer service - Just Avoid
Nothing but abysmal customer service for FFXIV. So I created an account and bought FF14 and all of the available expansions.
I played for about 1 - 2 months kept myself to myself had no issues with anyone (The RMT account scam thing was starting at this time, there had been a few victims)
I was playing one day and encountered one of the RMT bots but it seemed to have been a player who had fallen victim to the "new" scam, this scam was only just starting at this time there had been a few victims but it was fairly new so not many people were aware of it and a number of people fell victim to it. The Scam I am speaking of where scammers would post links in whisper to people saying there was a prize draw and follow this link, people would then follow that link and "log in" and it turned out to be a scam. A lot of people fell victim to it, and honestly Square Enix reacted very late to it.
So I reported the issue and hoped that the GM's would be able to help the person get their account back, sent copies of the chat log so the GM's could clearly identify what had been said and the name of the character, I was just trying to be helpful, and Square Enix does tell people to actually report this sort of thing so that they can sort it out ASAP.
3 - 5 days later I went to log in and couldn't, I checked my emails and had an email saying my account had been terminated due to RMT activity. (-.-) I managed to get in touch with live chat support, where the person who I spoke to confirmed there seemed to have been a huge mistake (I took screen shots of the in game issue which did help) I was then told that my case would be given the highest priority and everything would be checked out.
Further communication with Square Enix confirmed that who ever had looked at the report had made a mistake and staff were so sorry this had happened and would be doing their best to get my account back up and running as soon as.
Eventually an agreement was reached, I would have my account back with in the month. Honestly highest priority, 1 month is not highest priority specially for a staff error. Don't even mention the fact I had paid for the month already, which is also annoying, Square Enix even if they make a mistake do not give you back the lost game time, nor do they refund you. They honestly really need to fix that.
So 1 month after the last communication where it was agreed my account would be given back to me there was still nothing, I waited for another week and then seriously began to wonder what was happening so I contacted Square Enix again and asked if they could give me a date that my account would basically be given back to me, and what was going on because this had apparently all been sorted out and everything. At this point Square Enix changed their story and said that my account was terminated for RMT purposes and would not be given back, I reply with but this has already been investigated and it was confirmed that a staff member had made a mistake, showed the online chat all the copies of documents I kept but nope apparently telling me there had originally been a mistake was the mistake.
When I asked for proof through a Data Access Request thing, they literally sent me proof I was not the person promoting RMT activity. They sent me the chat logs of the "incident" and what they sent me was copies of what I had said, which was nothing, they literally sent me a document with the "offence" and the "punishment" and then the proof below, which was blank. I pointed this out to them, and was ignored.
Honestly what a mess of a customer service system, the staff make mistakes so clearly they are not well trained otherwise they would not be making very easy mistakes, and then the same staff cover the mistakes up, so they are not honest. They will make you wait weeks, and if they come to some sort of agreement with you, they will go back on it, like they did with me, and then they will ignore you even after sending you proof of your innocence. Honestly I have no words for the level of incompetence.
I reported a player who's account was being used by someone else for promoting RMT activity, Square Enix asks people to actually report the victims of this scam, a staff member made a mistake and terminated my account because I was apparently promoting RMT activity, the mistake was confirmed by Square Enix, Square Enix said yes there was a mistake made. Square Enix then claim they made another mistake and actually no I was the person spamming RMT messages. They then sent me proof I was innocent and refused to even acknowledge this.
I managed to get a full refund through my Card Company, because I kept all communications, also just letting everyone know there is a thing in Square Enix TOS that say if they make any mistakes which effects your accounts, they will repair, replace, or refund. They don't stick to this mind.
