Great UNTIL……..
I paid over 3.5k for 7 kitchen appliances when I refurbished my kitchen. I would have given (and did in fact give) 5 stars UNTIL a fault caused my Hoover washer/drier to leak all over my newly decorated kitchen not just once but TWICE as I was silly enough to believe it was a one off and allowed them to replace it which in all fairness they did quickly. The problem started once the second machine leaked and wanting to reject it and purchase from elsewhere, they refunded me and I put in for compensation to get the kitchen redecorated. They absolved themselves of all liability though and every person promised me a quick resolution from Hoover which of course was not forthcoming as they have ignored me despite my putting in a claims form and estimates as requested by AO over 6 weeks ago!
Since researching and seeking advice, I found out that According to The Consumer Act it is the retailer who has liability so I have had no choice but to now give notice to AO of going to the small claims court if the matter is not resolved, which I feel is very unfortunate for a company as large as AO. I hope they will rethink their position and do the right thing in the next 10 days, at which point I am happy to review the score given today otherwise it is the SmallClaims Court here I come! Customer Service should be great at every stage and not just when things go well AO where is your loyalty to your customer and the law?
Installation worth paying for
Slick, professional delivery and installation was worth every penny. Guys were friendly and efficient. Installation met legal requirements and old (extremely heavy) range cooker together with packaging removed. Love my new Stoves range cooker. Thanks guys and thanks AO.

Makes ridiculous demand after payment
Just bought a Fridge freezer online, with their complete package to deliver, unpack, unplug old unit, plug in new unit, remove all packaging and recycle old unit, which all sounded perfect.
After payment online, received several emails confirming purchase, delivery dates etc plus an email that states old unit must be defrosted entirely otherwise extra charge, or cannot remove, recycle.
How AO expects customer to defrost a fridge freezer entirely, which would take at least two days, before the new unit arrives, all the food would be ruined.
There was NO mention of this requirement in their recycling service prior to payment.
Called up to query, told it's to prevent water leakage in the van etc, but what about all our food in the freezer?
Cancelled order.
Went to another supplier (Indian dish), their website recycling service clearly states; prefer unit to be defrosted, however if not possible, no worries, they will seal the door and take the old unit away.
That's what I call service from a company that understands customer's needs.
Hotpoint and AO poor quality and after sales care!
Bought 11 kitchen appliances from AO including 3 Hotpoint products. All 3 Hotpoint products failed within 15 months and cost me £300 to get repaired as they had gone past the initial 12 month warranty. AO and Hotpoint don’t care and there after sales care is very expensive. Definitely avoid Hotpoint products and don’t expect any help from AO … unless you pay up!
Waste of time
I bought an expensive smeg toaster from ao. Withinin two weeks it was tripping out our RCD. I will never use ao again. Thrown crappy item away now.

I bought a new cooker from AO. It was delivered and installed on the day agreed by two very efficient and courteous guys. I always go to AO if they have the kind of appliance I'm looking for as my experience with them has been very good each time I've bought from them.

I entered a negative report about AO on the 15th of January 2024 . at that time, I had attempted to place an order but was unable to do so. I received a phone call from Mike at AO, He told me to contact their finance department to sort the problem out. Neither company has managed to help. On 12 Feb AO sent an email to state that they would be collecting their £100 direct debit on 22 Feb. Question is as I still have had no help is this a breach of contract.? as they are not keeping their obligation to me.Talk about a company that only wishes to give its customers the best experience.

No to 5 star continous membership scheme!
I was looking to order a new Whirlpool washing machine. Our old one lasted 15 years so wanted to get same brand and hopefully last as long. Was interested in ordering from AO, have done before,but now for free delivery and other basic needs for someone unable to collect, instal etc, you have to join 5star club. Continous membership until you cancel. Probably would have only ordered one item, so did not want 5 star club. Do not want the fan of having to cancel.membership. Hence AO lost the order went elsewhere. Just wanted AO to know how their membership scheme is seen by perpetual customers.
I wanted a new freezer not extra effort and cost!
I wanted a new upright freezer - AO was recommended to me to supply. The up-market model I wanted, a Samsung - in stock - spec. checked, etc. Went to order order - 'out of stock' - unable to say when it would be back in stock - could be months! Offered an alterative model - more expensive but accepted as I am in my 80s and tired of looking through specs. Checked that the door reversed as I would need that - no trouble - on the online spec. cost £15.
When delivered door not reversed. Phoned up - told no longer offer that service - too much trouble for the firm!! Told that If I cancelled the order I would have to pay return costs. Suggested to get local engineer. That cost me £70 - not unreasonable as a charge for the work, but it was not my job to get it done.
I have to say that the delivery aspect was first rate in the staff politeness and efficiency. A light in an otherwise bleak landscape.

Use AO after a award from the family fund. There was very limited choices to choose from. I called up to see if I could have more options the women said no. I exhausted the options and just couldn't find a freestanding 60cm cooker in the options link was mostly built in or 50cm cooker. I called up and the guy I spoke to was absolutely fantastic and shared the list of options which was showing on my account. So the first lady lied to me. If it wasn't for the customer service guy I would have given this company 1 star. If a award amount is given. Let the carer choose themselves. Don't limit to stock you want to get rid of. Why was the full options not on the link they sent. Ridiculous

Having explained in detail what happened when driver refused to attempt delivery of a washing machine, you claimed to have photos showing parking restrictions in my street.
THE PHOTOS ARE NOWHERE NEAR WHERE WE LIVE. THEY ARE NOTHING TO DO WITH MY STREET
You are an utterly shameful company which is engaged
in promoting a tissue of lies, complete untruths and fake documentary 'evidence' because you know you failed to attempt delivery and wasted my entire day waiting --all this can be confirmed if you check your tracking for that day.
I told the driver it was PERFECTLY LEGAL TO PARK IN OUR MEWS AS IT IS A PRIVATE ROAD so don't try and say a Sunday was the only option. As I said no parking ticket can be issued in a private road- wardens do not have jurisdiction. John Lewis delivered on Saturday and there was no issue whatsoever.
Your men just couldn't be bothered coming anywhere near me and I tracked them on the live feed and they were off towards WC1 after W2... didn't ever turn towards SW1
The worst thing about this is the lies perpetuated by your drivers, Mike whatever his name is, and now Danielle the unfortunate individual left to reply. I am totally shocked you could behave in such a way.

Ordered washing machine, delivered next day, paid for installation and old machine to be taken away. Installation was done in less than one hour, no mess and old machine taken for re-cycling. First class service

Ordered a replacemnt beko dryer over xmas and was delivered promply and my old one taken away, excellent service and value for money.
Only annoyance is trying to sell insurance when the dryer has a warranty etc...

They arrived, Sunday early afternoon. Took plumbing off old machine (which still works) then said that they would not (despite having paid) connect the new machine. Apparently the pipework is not to the 'latest standards!). I said that what if I connect it but the 'computer' said NO. They then said they'd take the old machine away & leave the new one for me to get someone to plumb it in! I said that you can take the new machine away & reconnect the old machine, which they did, leaving the unit baseboard scattered on the floor, & water flicked from the hose on the floor - to slip on!!! SO THEY CAN RECONNECT THE OLD MACHINE BUT CANNOT CONNECT THE PIPES TO THE NEW ONE! I will not waste my time using this company ever again.

More than a month ago, I bought an oven from AO.
First the delivery was delayed, to a working day.
Second it was installed tilted and with the wrong screws. One of the connectors was completely loose.
Then I had to wait for weeks to get the replacement connector from Beko. Weeks when the oven was sliding about (and this was worse than it sounds, for reasons explained below)
Then, when they did send a guy to reinstall they found it had originally been pressed against the hob gas pipe, so the whole sliding about thing was life threatening. So they completely disconnected it and left it lying on the floor. But they said that they would have someone out (for another appointment), who was due to turn up today.
And now they have lost the booking. The supposed booking has disappeared. So I'm still stuck with a non-working oven sitting on the floor.
So I've been left without a working oven for a month and a half, had a seriously dangerous situation for most of it, and been give a parade of disaster.
On the bright side, the workers have been polite when giving me the news of how badly their company has behaved. Or not given me the news and left me to find it out for myself.

Update: I've just been told that they're booking in a new appointment - with a date of the 2nd January. So it will be two months without an oven, including Christmas and the New Year.
New update: They're now saying that they won't send a gas engineer to solve the problem after all and I'll have to arrange, and pay for, that myself.

Can’t give 0 stars. Meant to have cooker delivered and installed today 9th December, ordered beginning of November, had confirmation email stating the times it would be delivered but then nothing. Rang this morning to confirm and chase to be told it’s cancelled and won’t be delivered until 30th December. We booked in November as our cooker was broken and wanted on plenty of time for Christmas. Absolutely appalling service and now got to cancel Christmas dinner at our house. They obviously don’t appreciate customer service as there was zero communication on cancellation until we called them.
