The transport service was quick and good, The procedure for check in and check out was efficient and quick.
The Surprice office is a bit difficult to find at Catania airport. The deposit/insurance cover is quite high and only accepts credit cards. If no credit card you are forced to buy a 300Eur insurance. Cars are cheap and very decent price and quality. No issue to report.
SCAMMERS, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Our flight got delayed, we shared our flight number with them as asked and when we arrived at their desk we were point blank told: you have two options 1) pay €100 euro extra bcs your reservation got cancelled and we don’t have any more cars left from category A, so basically pay for an upgrade because the flight arrived late, or 2) leave without a car and no refund ofc.
Also they will most definitely charge for damages if you don’t pay for insurance, so I beg you take pictures of every single corner of the car if you are silly enough to book a car with this disgusting company.
When I arrived, I had to call to get picked up — it took 20 minutes before anyone even answered, and then another 20 minutes before the shuttle finally showed up.
When returning the car, they sent me to the wrong drop-off point, about 5 km away. Completely disorganised.
I signed a check-out report confirming there was no damage, and I even received that document by email.
Yet days later, they charged me more then €380 to my Visa card without any notice or explanation. When I contacted them, they claimed it was for a “lock change” something that was never mentioned when the car was returned, nor during the inspection.
I’ve asked for a refund several times, but they keep hiding behind vague excuses. The supposed “new damage” doesn’t appear on any document I signed.
Avoid this company, there are plenty of honest alternatives.
I recently had booked a car via. the broker BSP-Auto.com where then autoone.it was the original supplier. I picked up the car at surpricecar/autoone pickup point near Napoli airport. While the car itself was in a good condition, I've been scammed with the return process.
After returning the car on 24th of September, during the return process we noticed a tiny scratch on a door, that has not been there before. Since I booked a self-involvement insurance via. bsp-auto.com, I didn't think this should be a problem - but it is. I originally paid a deposit of 900€ and 1 month later, there is still 715€ blocked on my credit card. I contacted autoone.it several times regarding this case but did not receive an answer yet for anything. If they keep this ammount of my deposit (which in my opinion is way too much for a tiny scratch on a door) I need documents to hand over this case to the insurance that I booked and paid for, but I totally get ignored, no matter how often I e-mail them.
Therefore I highly recommend not doing any business with this company.
Updating this, after receiving this answer: The 715€ that is still booked on my creditcard is booked by AutoOne, so infact theres the issue.

The whole experience was dismal from the get go. The shuttle to the facility was apparently broken down and we took a taxi there at our charge as the staff when called appeared irritable and hung up on me twice. Once we got there Hussein was the staff who dealt with us. To say his behaviour was deranged, unhinged and bordered on the dangerous is an understatement. He likes to talk by slamming his hand on the desk, he shouted at the customers seated next to us as they talked amongst themselves as he didn't like their language ( I emphasize they were talking to each other and not to the staff) He jumped up like he almost wanted to attack them as he shouted at them ... violent, angry , unsafe and dangerous are the words that spring to mind to describe my experience and specifically with Hussein. I had just one day in Florence and my car had been booked for 9:45. I finally got the car at 11:30 and it was not the car I had booked. I was too scared to make that an issue as i didn't know what the reaction from Hussein would be. This facility should not be in business. I want to add that Hussein made a point of saying I needed an international license and he needed my physical passport, both of which I did not have. I'm not sure if it was really needed but he held that over me as a threat to withhold the car to buy what I can presume is my silence at his behaviour. If it is in fact the law, he willingly broke it in a power play as he so called magnanimously still let me have me the car .
I would give zero stars if possible . Definitely he needs to be reported for dangerous behaviour. No customers should go here.

Booked through doyouItaly, when I picked up car they tried very hard to sell me addition insurance even though I had it already. Car was in very poor condition, multiply marks/dents on all panels. On return they charged me for new dent, even though I took a photo which showed the dent was already there when I picked it up. Currently contesting charge via credit card provider. Would never use again.

Antonio was great and so was the whole service
I booked via UBER at the Pisa Airport.
They tried to sell me an insurance at the counter even though I had already purchased the full coverage online. I was told that this has nothing to do with them and that if anything happens, I’m on my own and need to contact the provider directly where I booked it.
I read now that almost everyone had that issue.
I was lucky that nothing happened, but I told feel safe booking with them again, unfortunately.

Surprice Car Rental – A Stressful Experience with Safety Red Flags
I booked a rental through DoYouItaly and was initially pleased with the price—€170 including full insurance, which I paid upfront to feel protected. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill at check-in.
I didn’t have a Visa credit card for the deposit hold, only my Amex. That’s on me, but I was shocked that I couldn’t even use my wife’s Visa card to resolve the issue. The staff gave me one option: pay an additional €370 on the spot. No flexibility, no workaround, and no option to cancel the original booking, which was non-refundable.
The staff were rude, dismissive, and made the whole process feel rushed and unnecessarily stressful. But what truly concerned me was the condition of the car itself. It was handed over with low tyre pressure, and the tread on the front wheels was dangerously worn—barely there. For a company that insists on strict payment policies, the lack of attention to basic vehicle safety was unacceptable.
If you're booking with Surprice via DoYouItaly, double-check the fine print—especially around accepted cards and deposit requirements. And inspect the car thoroughly before driving off. The initial savings might not be worth the stress—or the risk.

okay, so what should you say - we rented a car in BARI from a platform, not auto one, but they were the people that actually gave us the car.
They tried to bully us into getting extra cover (450 Euro, where the actual car rental including insurance was 360), even though we had full coverage view rentalcovers, so we did not need it.
They also said, that we could not use a tap to pay credit card, we needed the code. Luckily I find out the code, otherwise they would have tried to sell us extra insurance (take 2) and then tap to pay would work.
They gave us the car that was really dirty and had no wiper fluid in it. It was 10pm, so everything was dirty, so we could see nothing.
When we returned the car they told us that we had caused to scratches on the side of the door (however they were already there when we took over the car and so minor that they would definitely not repair this). 920 Euro.
They tried to force us to sign a document, which I did not do, they did not allow us to film them telling us what would happen and threatened to call the police.
They will do the exact same thing with the next customer.
Luckily we were insured and got all the money back. But this is obviously the way they work.
And yes, the answer to my posting will be that they threaten me with legal action. So, this all happened allegedly, and is of course purely fictional ;)

I had a very bad experience renting a car from Auto One. First of all, no clear information was given when I picked up the car. Even though I already had insurance, they forced me to take additional insurance. They indicated that if I didn't take it, they wouldn't give me the car. I was very ignorant

Been with Autoone a few times now. First Class. Thank you so much x
They charged me €390 for a scratch that was already on the car. I have photos and video proof from pickup, but they ignored my emails and refused to refund me. Total scam tactics.
Take photos of every inch or, better, avoid this company completely – they’re dishonest and take money from your deposit without reason.

This review was removed as it highlighted an issue with the rental agent (Surprice)and not the supplier of the vehicle ( Auto one.it) I have increased the stars to 3, no more, for Auto one as the car I received had been in an incident of some sort and was scraped and dented all along the driver side, interior was fine exterior was not.

The company requires credit cards with embossed numbers only (!!!!) any other type of card is not accepted, even though they are perfectly happy to charge the fuel deposit from any credit card. If your card doesn’t have raised (embossed) letters, they force you to purchase full insurance, which ends up making the total cost much higher than the original booking price.
If this requirement is truly so important, why is it not clearly highlighted during the initial booking process? It feels deliberately hidden, and very unfair to customers who only find out upon arrival.
To make matters worse, I am seven months pregnant, and the whole situation left me extremely stressed and upset, especially being forced to pay such a large unexpected amount. The women at the desk showed no empathy or understanding at all, and after everything, they gave us the worst possible car, completely different from the one we had originally booked.
Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing and upsetting experience that could have easily been avoided with clear communication and a bit of compassion.
The pick up process was also very bad with a wait of 30 mins before she decided to get in the car and take me back to the aiport.

Giant SCAM place. Rented us a van covered in dents and scratches, claimed we caused more and charged us 1300 eu in damages. We did not damage the van at all!

Absolutely terrible experience. This company has made up their own “internal rule” claiming that a UK driving licence is not accepted internationally anymore, and that you must have an international driving permit. That’s complete nonsense – all official government websites clearly say that if you hold a UK photocard driving licence, you do not need an international one.
It’s nothing but a way to force customers to pay extra for a so-called “special insurance”, which feels like a scam. They hide behind fake policies just to take more money from people once they arrive to pick up the car.
I’ve rented cars all over Europe and never seen anything like this. Totally dishonest and misleading – save yourself the stress and choose another rental company that actually follows the law and respects its customers.

Woeful from start to finish.
Didn't accept Amex (despite their Terms and Conditions not mentioning this), so had to pay an additional £250 to hire the car on top of existing already paid funds.
The car itself was "ok", but things like empty screen wash just demonstrated the standard of car care.
The place wasn't signposted at all... it was a 15-min walk from the terminal and an absolute rabbit warren to find.
Staff were friendly enough, but given the aforementioned issue with payments (and they also didn't accept a pre-paid full insurance coverage with an external firm), their friendliness was moot.
