€300 for a scratch less than 1 cm
I rented a car with pepecars (via Surprice / AutoOne) and the experience was terrible. At car return in Bari at 21:40, a staff member pointed to a scratch on the door edge, less than 1 cm. In my photos it is almost invisible, yet I was forced to sign a €300 charge, being told that “the money would be taken anyway.”
The car was returned with full fuel, 5,716 km, and in good condition. The alleged damage was minimal and does not justify such a high cost.
Afterwards I checked reviews on Google Maps and other platforms, and many customers had the exact same problem. This clearly shows a repeated pattern that leaves customers with no defense.
Even if the initial price looks cheap, the final cost is much higher because of these abusive charges. My advice: avoid AutoOne completely.
