Review of Beryl

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Excellent ride, slightly dispiriting cost.

I'd say the riding experience was really good. I had a bike with a slightly loose (but entirely safe) basket at first but was quickly and automatically refunded and took another bike that was excellent. My only issue is with the cost. Given that the bus is still cheaper, I think I would only use Beryl if I had no other cheaper option. It needs to be ideally cheaper than the bus but of course they have running and set up costs. A trip to town (17 minutes) cost me £3.72. The bus costs £2. Even with a 100 minute bundle where you could commute to and from work 3 times, the bus would still be £4 cheaper. Although you can leave immediately rather than wait, I think it will remain a niche option until near cost parity is an option. Paying 100% extra for the privilege of cycling yourself is laudable and excellent in many ways, but I don't think the majority will go for it. People tend to vote with their purses...

RM248 Grasscatcher rubbish.

The OLDER MODEL of the RM248 Grasscatcher is either designed so terribly that the designer should be flayed and boiled or it's designed with such little consideration for longevity and efficacy that the designer needs to be flayed and boiled. Appalling design. It just pops out on anything other than a tennis lawn. Flayed and boiled, you get my point 🌄 I hope they've fixed it in the new version.

UK customer ripped off.

UK customer. £8.40 postage for a 2 Gram replacement screwdriver bit. Absolutely disgusting. Paid a premium for postage of Mako set a year or so ago. All was well until I lost a piece. I inquired about replacement bits and was directed to the website to order one. The bit itself is £2.99 which is not entirely reasonable given the cost of the set, but I'd have taken it as I was keen to replace the bit and they are good quality.

The postage though is a total insult to the customer. It's disgusting. It discourages those people who want to be environmentally conscious and order a bit not a new set. It's profiteering at its worst. A 2nd Class Small Letter in the UK is 85 pence. The bit weighs 2g. They want to charge me £8.40 to post something miniscule locally.

They clearly would rather charge customers the earth than provide a good service by setting up the tiniest of UK dist centres. I assume they're postage from Europe in which case I'd suggest ending UK operations as you clearly have contempt for your customers.

You could run a UK distribution centre from a small unit for next or nothing and provide a good service to the UK customer base. Instead you've chosen to take advantage of the good will of the customer base. I think this demonstrates to me that you're trading on a name and can't be trusted in terms of customer support. There's a moral aspect to business and it's being ignored here. Appalled and insulted.

I rang up for some technical support…

I rang up for some technical support for an older Onkyo AV unit not expecting much and received really excellent informative and helpful support. I will as a result make sure I bookmark Henley audio as they weren't required to assist me to the extent that they did. Highly recommended.

Cured my issue in less than 5 mins.

I went onto the site as I was wondering if I was overly cynical or paranoid. I spent a couple of minutes doing the test only to find I had to pay for the results. I feel my cynicism is more justified. Thanks brainmanager!

Review of DAZN DE

Having had issues cancelling my account…

Having had issues cancelling my account on 25th May, clearly it didn't go through via web browser, despite me completing the process, and as it was outside business hours so no customer support was available I found DAZN had continued to charge me for 3 months upon checking my bank account. I contacted DAZN explaining my issue and they were utterly dismissive. They sent links to their own website pages that don't exist or rather have been cancelled (it's about applying for refunds). You can't cancel outside of working hours according to their website and have to speak with a customer service or chat rep to do so but I went through an automated cancellation process online and even though it repeatedly asks if you're sure like some broken annoying robot it did not register. There are clearly issues and the company's philosophy is to ignore the customer in all instances. I won't use them again. Eddie Hearn can dine on a nice big vat of excrement and expire as far as I'm concerned.

Kinguin is consistently reliable.

I've been a member of Kinguin for I don't know how long ... 5 years at least. I've never had any issues and the service has been excellent. I've probably bought 10 + games over the years. No issues whatever.

Avoiding user facility in order to make more money.

THERE ARE NOTIFICATION OPTIONS FOR EVERYTHING EXCEPT YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL DATE. Don't give them your money. Their customer service is a disgrace, they have no mechanism for informing you that a renewal is due, and as a result of their failure in this most basic courtesy they then direct you to their non-refundable terms and conditions. They intentionally avoid including a renewal reminder as part of their software in order to bleed more money from the customer base. Bumble are not sorry as they claim to be.

UPS - Useless Parcel Service

UPS - Useless Parcel Service. They were supposed to collect a faulty monitor for Amazon. They came twice and put a card through the door both times when we were in. You then spend an hour on the phone to customer service who are useless and don't help at all. I caught them arriving on the 3rd visit as I heard a van pull up. I'm on the 3rd Floor (for this reason we have a doorbell). The driver knocked on the door with all the power of an anemic baby bird, waited 10 seconds, then started to write yet another "we missed you" card. They had our phone number, and as I said we have a doorbell. They could have come 1000 times and not done the job properly as far as I can tell.

Great Speakers and Excellent Post-Sale Service

I bought a pair of speakers that were really well priced given the fact that they were ex-display from an audio event and to all intents and purposes brand new. Keith and Callum were really helpful and offered excellent aftersales support. I can't fault them as a business. I will certainly use them again.

Great Response When Case Arrived Damaged

EDIT: The case arrived with a smashed glass panel. Bits everywhere. AWD IT resolved the situation and had an excellent and genuine approach to the problem. I don't think the damage to the case was their fault. I think it happened in transit. AWD posted a replacement, double-boxed, and collected the damaged case free of charge. They were really diligent. I have since used them twice and the products arrived in perfect condition.

Review of NOW TV

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Sneaky and underhand

Appalling. Appalling. Appalling. As Gollum said "...filthy little thieves". They offer a discount or free month with NowTV. After the month had passed, and an extra month which was used and paid for as I remember, you cancel your NowTV pass.
However, what isn't clear is that you have two active passes. One for NowTV and one for NowTV Cinema (which you get free with your NowTV discount or free offer subscription). The NowTV Cinema pass is not associated with the NowTV pass, and is entirely separate in terms of billing. So when you cancel your NowTV Pass, your Cinema pass is still active, and you are charged £11.99 per month, until you review your CC statement.
You contact them, explaining that you cancelled your NowTV subscription months ago, and that you have still been charged despite not using the service at all, and that surely cancelling your NowTV pass demonstrates that you no longer require any services. You are told that it's your fault for not cancelling the Cinema pass, and that they will only refund 10% of the charge (£11.99 of £119.90 over 10 months).
You then make a complaint, assuming that any moral company will amend this gross infraction on the mores of courteous business practice, to be offered 40% which still leaves you £71.94 out of pocket. It's the Ombudsman next for these amoral people. It's a sneak thief way of managing subscriptions in order to abuse decency and civility and lull people into continuing to pay for something without realising it. At best, it's a poorly designed subscription system, but given their lack of acumen, I wouldn't necessarily give them the benefit of the doubt by stating I don't believe it wasn't an intentional ploy. This isn't the way to do business, or develop any sort of loyal customer base.

Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light purchase.

I only need to say that the purchase went smoothly, and the purchase price was reasonable. Although it was slightly more than it has been on other clients when they have had a 90% sale, for a general price it was still very very good value at around £3.50 and the code came through immediately. I bought the game for a friend as we often send each other gifts, and I had wanted to play it co-op for a while and owned the game myself via the aforementioned 90% sale. We are around two hours in and the puzzles are entertaining and the game play is really good. I would recommend it to anyone who likes co-op action puzzle games with an isometric viewpoint. Great wee romp for you and a mate :) 2 Player.
