Never buy a Nokia phone
My Nokia xr20 is a year old and the GPS doesn't work. It has been sent back to nokia twice for repair, and came back faulty both times. I'm now trying to send it back for a third time to get fixed, but their website is down and I've lost all hope of them ever fixing it.
The phone and their customer service repair has become a joke, and I'll never buy Nokia again.
Although customer service are quick to respond, it takes over two weeks for my phone to be posted from the UK to their so called repair centre in Romania who don't seem to be able to fix it.
Looks like I'll just have to keep posting it back to them every few weeks for the next 3 years until the warranty runs out!
It may say Nokia on the case, but these phones are no longer made buy nokia
Wish I'd checked here first
I've had a long tradition of owning Nokias, so thought it should be safe to stick with the brand. I paid over £170 for a new G42, but it doesn't come with any charger. I expected I would be able to charge it from my laptop, from USB ports on mains plugs I have in my home, or even from a little emergency radio that has a phone-charging port. But the supplied cable isn't compatible with any of these. I'm guessing the available ports I have are all USB 2 or 3 but it wants USB C. I'm really disappointed I can't get it up and running out-of-the-box, and now need to spend more money on a compatible charger. Also I'm not super happy with how large and heavy the phone is, but that one's on me, as the specs do say - I just didn't really imagine it like it is. I'm considering returning it, as I am starting to form a negative impression, despite not even having been able to try it yet. They promise a 30-day returns window for peace of mind, but there is NO info on the website about how you initiate this. I mailed customer support, who replied in broken English that the info is all in the order confirmation email. No it isn't! I can see what I bought, the date, and what I paid, but nothing at all about how to return it. Viewing the order on my account page on the website isn't any better. They claim there is a returns link there, but there isn't, and nothing in the FAQ. Buyer's regret is mounting.
Whatever you do avoid this company like…
Whatever you do avoid this company like the plague. A phone ordered twice. On each occassion despite my bank authorising payment the orders were cancelled by Nokia. Despite this Nokia are blocking £13 on my bank account on a recurring basis to cover the old phones trade in value despite them cancelling and not supplying any phone to me. On top of this I received 6 emails instantaneously for my trade in phone to be sent to them at 2am one morning followed by 100, yes 100 emails sent for the second cancelled order again at 2am one morning. Their customer service have not responded to my emails and do not answer phone calls directed to them. I cannot say that Nokia UK have poor customer service. They have no customer service.
How I wish I’d read the TrustPilot…
How I wish I’d read the TrustPilot reviews about the Nokia organisation. I’d never have bought one of their phones if I’d realised that the Nokia company whose products I used years ago are absolutely not the Nokia that operates now. In short I believed the promotional hype about getting free earbuds with the Nokia G42 phone. I paid it arrived but less the earbuds. Their unhelpful chatline said the order had the words ‘device only’ on it. That was news to me as I never put those words there nor saw them. However I checked the order and as they say up in my native Newcastle, I had to go ‘to the bottom of my stairs’ - but there - in small print were the words ‘device only’. So I haven’t got a leg to stand on and they’ve got my money. Seems to me that Nokia will never break into the big time with shoddy tactics like these. But it made me wonder if the positive hype about their new phones is genuine and true. Shame on them and shame on me for being so gullible. As they say there’s one born every minute and from one of those to anyone reading my review, don’t lose heart or give up because there are some really good companies out there, just not this one. Cheers, Karl.
Bought a C21 phone in 2022
Bought a C21 phone in 2022, and gave for granted that GPS was an old and fault-proof technology: but it's not the case, and on this phone it's working ONLY if connected to the internet, which I don't use. Funny, my chinese phone from 2011 was better.
Sent for repair (argos won't do that for me, even if I purchased from them...) and is being returned as "no faults found", as expected.
Skip nokia in the future.
Useless customer service
I am a XR20 user and I love it much. They released XR21 recently and also have a promotion with a earbuds as a bundle. However, in their website the price of single phone and bundle are same (which is £499) and the bundle option button is not obvious in the purchase webpage.
I bought the phone by mis-clicking the single phone option and surely they sent me the phone only. I asked the support team to send the earbuds to me and they said the only way to get it is to return my current XR21 to Nokia and purchase the bundle set again.
The support team shows no motivation to help customers. They are just paid to reply emails only and they won't help.
Nokia are bad news now
My husband’s basic Nokia has crashed after 8 months.
Although it has a 2 year warranty this appears to be a lie because there seems to be no way I can get it repaired or replaced.
The original Nokia were great, and very reliable.
Love the heft and screen clarity but…
Love the heft and screen clarity but with no way to stop music ie Spotify or my music except for a restart it is annoying enough to see me looking for a new phone
Nokia lied to me and did not deliver my phone.
I purchased a smartphone from Nokia, but it was useless. As I bought from Amazon, I assumed I could discuss this with Amazon. NOT SO. But before I took it up with Nokia , I purchased another Smartphone, and this time , they sent me a T20 tablet. They would not believe me and insisted on a photo. I am seriously ill in bed. I spoke to Nokia and they agreed to send an addressed label. But they then went back on this, again insisting on a photo. I won`t deal with these liars . Goodness knows what I can do. Don`t even think of doing any business with this evil company. They are untrustworthy and they openly lied to me. (all recorded by the way ) They might as well as call you a liar as they take your money.
Absolute garbage, avoid at all costs
Absolute garbage. They recently updated Nokia phones to Android 12, but there is a serious technical flaw in their phones which HMD / Nokia refuse to acknowledge - namely that if you factory reset the phone it crashes the phone and makes it unusable.
Nokia will not fix the issue unless at their service centre for which they charge! They may be able to come up with a fix but this will be online - of little use to their crashed phones. For more information look at the tales of woe on the Nokia community forum.
Customer service non existent, see the thread
Avoid Nokia products like the plague.
Nokia G10
Nokia G10 - absolute garbage.
It doesn’t even make a good paper weight it’s that cheaply built
Worst phone I’ve used in a long time
My goodness..
My goodness... The most shocking customer service I have ever seen.
They promised to deliver my item the next working day. I waited but nothing arrived. I contacted them and they said they will investigate. 2 days later and no response from them. Contacted them today to ask to cancel the order but the customer service person said that they are not able to cancel. WHAT ON EARTH ARE THEY FOR THEN?
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. READ THE REVIEWS HERE... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
Bought Nokia 5310 music express…
Bought Nokia 5310 music express 2020/UK.
Build quality is very good. Quite user friendly operation. In the main works well. There are 2 imperfections. On music app/MP3 player the music express phone has a equaliser. I'd like to know where. The left button shortcut to applications organise feature doesn't work. If you have say 10 shortcut you can't move say alarm clock to the top. Everything is static.
The phone is advertised as music express and the MP3 player doesn't work properly made me write an average review.
Nokia old school phones look amazing and sometimes they have the wow factor like the 5310 which makes us old'uns go and get one . They ought to check what they've made better.
Excellent service quick delivery of…
Excellent service quick delivery of tablet free gift In box no faffing like other phone giants out there even got money back on topcashback app
Thanks Nokia
Nokia 2.2
Nokia 2.2 what a useless phone this is. I would advise people to steer clear, Samsung galaxy are much better. You cannot rely on this phone at all, has limited memory everything gets full quickly can't update as not enough storage space. Had an important phone call didn't even ring and not on silent, too many rubbish things to mention. Cannot wait to get another Samsung.
Its not just the game thats a Snake!
I think the game Snake should be the new logo and name for Nokia!
Bought a 6310 on 19 October, initially started with would not switch on for about a week. It passed and thought nothing of it, now the phone will not hold its charge at all! Reported it on 19 November to be told after going back and to with questions and troubleshooting that the time for sending back and getting a refund had passed at 5:59pm that day, even though I was speaking to them before then they said i could not return it.
Nokia then said that they will send a replacement, brand new in box (so they say), a week later still not heard anything, only to be told that they are waiting for the escalation team to come back to them, they cannot speak to that team and they do not know how long it will be! What kind of customer service is that when they cannot tell you what is happening.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Once upon a time
Once upon a time, Nokia used to be the largest phone company in the world with such greats as the N95, 3310, 3330, 5230, and 3510. Today, HMD Global owns the name, and dear oh dear.
My most recent "Nokia" is the 3.4 in the Fjord colour, which looks nothing like the images shown on Amazon. The phone started off great but soon became slow and then unusable. Seemingly an all too common trait of any HMD Global phone. It is unable to integrate a MicroUSB card into the internal memory as other phones can do, and the procedure of making it work with an AUX cable is tedious (cable must go into the phone first, and then into the device you are connecting it to).
Prior to this, I had an even more budget HMD device, the "Nokia" 2.2 after seeing it reviewed by tech YouTuber MrWhosetheBoss, and let me tell you one thing, that phone, despite having less RAM and a slow SoC, was far superior to the newer 3.4. The MicroSD card integrated with the internal storage no questions asked, and it didn't matter how you connected an AUX cable.
It is sad to see a former great fall on its sword at the hands of HMD Global.
RIP Nokia phones 1992-2010
Shockingly bad service and phone
Purchased a Nokia 8000 for my mother to use after much research looking for a simple phone that works with Whatsapp. The phone is less than 2 weeks old, will not hold charge and Whatsapp app will not open at all despite being reinstalled many times.
I have been in contact with Nokia, who want me to send it for repair. I have repeatedly sent them a list of issues and a video of the phones issues but still not response to my request for a refund. Wish I had checked TP before my purchase! Lesson learned money down the drain. Nokia are not the company or the phones they used to be.
Withholding my refund
Withholding my refund. 100% avoid whomever you buy nokia from do not fund a thieving company. I am having to go to my bank to sort out a refund from this company as there reluctant to refund me. Returned phone as it was s**t basically 😂😂
Purchased Nokia 1.3 in May 21
Purchased Nokia 1.3 in May 21, returned to 3 as unable to open back to insert sim card as per Nokia's instruction manual. 3 managed to open it but only by inserting lever into charging port. Returned to 3 two further times with issues each time back was removed with lever. Eventually returned to 3 as charging problems. Advised to return to Nokia as this was a manufacturer fault and covered under warranty. First of all trying to return phone was almost impossible, nearest service centre is in Hungary(handy), then warranty was rejected and repair charge was £51.46( phone was £72). There was no option to appeal. So overall service poor and would never buy another Nokia phone
