Great product and superfast delivery

I am so pleased I stumbled on this company when looking for a liner for my Lonchamp bag.
I wanted something a bit special and my liner really is lovely. It also arrived unbelievably quickly.
It wasn’t cheap but then I didn’t want to put a cheap liner in a nice bag and i wanted to support a UK based company.
Good work Handbag Angels.

Two leaking watering cans and one with a wonky spout

I have always understood that you get what you pay for so I didn’t mind paying extra to buy a Haws watering can. I have had 3 water butts installed round the house so I needed watering cans that would fit underneath their taps, without the handle getting in the way and the design of Haws cans work for this purpose. Sadly the two cans I bought last year are leaking where the spout fits in to the body of the can. And the smaller one I bought recently had a wonky spout. I had the receipt for this so it was easy to return but Haws are not keen to honour their guarantee with the other ones because I haven’t kept the receipts. Who keeps receipts for watering cans for goodness sake? One of them has a bar code and price on the bottom. I have offered to return them.
I will not be buying or recommending Haws again and I am very disappointed in the quality of the product and their customer service.

I decided not to keep the mask

I decided not to keep the mask. I had thought it was a rechargeable one and the instructions were incomprehensible. Also it took much longer than expected to arrive.
However, customer service has been good and my emails have been answered promptly.

The wrong size trousers were sent to me from an online order, size 16 instead of 6. I spoke to Christine in customer service and she was excellent. I received the right size the very next day. Super impressed.

Great caddy, useless liners

Simplehuman products are generally brilliantly designed and this caddy is no exception, but the liners that came with it are worse than useless.
You need a manual to work out how to open them and they are very flimsy and tear easily. I will not be buying them again.
Such a shame as this company normally gets things spot on.
Since writing this, Simple Human have contacted me and I must congratulate them on their customer service and therefore up their star rating.

Outstanding customer service

I have purchased many Valentte reed diffusers over the years and have always been very happy, but, like some commenting here, found that my last order, a I litre reed diffuser refill bottle, had no scent at all.
I brought this to Valentte’s attention and they have been very good, replying promptly to my emails and offering me a replacement. You can’t ask for more than that.

Recipe card missing

I am new to Gusto. My box arrived today but one of the recipe cards is missing. I tried phoning to find out how to get it, but have been cut off both times.
So a pretty unimpressive start.
I am happy with the prompt reply I have received on here and have now located the missing recipe on your website.
However, I am still unsure as to why you have a phone number with various options, if you just cut your callers off when they choose one. If there is someone monitoring reviews such as these, why is there not someone to take a call. I realise no one has any desire any longer to actually speak to someone but it is bad business.

Cancelling a subscription

I had subscribed for a year to a magazine in this company’s stable but had not realised that it would auto renew via the credit card I had initially used, for next year, until I received an email saying that my card had been debited with another 12 month long subscription.
I was not able to unsubscribe via my account (so “manage your account” - you can’t - is untruthful) and nowhere on its website (including FAQs) does it tell you how to do this.
I find this really sneaky and objectionable. I enjoy the magazine but this is plain sharp practice.
The person I spoke to to cancel my subscription from Dec 2025 was very helpful and prompt but making it difficult to cancel a subscription is not ethical.

Value for my money and well equipped

Most impressed with my room at the Wetherspoons hotel in Monmouth, it was very comfortable and quite spacious for a single. Amazing value too.
Breakfast was good and arrived very promptly.
I am disappointed to see all the negative reviews on here which don’t reflect my experience.
I know from my time in hospitality that people are very quick to complain but slow to praise, so I am happy to redress the balance.

Honest, obliging and trustworthy

I had taken my car in to another company, as a tyre was losing pressure. They had told me I needed a new tyre, costing £160. They did not offer me a repair. I was suspicious so I took it to Lodge in Fakenham and despite being horrendously busy, they checked it over, and did a repair costing £24.
Thank you for running a proper decent business, that treats its customers fairly and with integrity. Not surprising that one business had nobody in there and that Lodge were flat out

I took my car in to a local branch as a…

I took my car in to a local branch as a tyre was losing pressure. I was told I needed a new one costing £160. I was not offered a repair.
I asked to see the problem with the tyre and was shown a tiny chip embedded in the rubber.
I took it elsewhere and they repaired it for £24.
Not impressed on any level.

Don’t believe the hype

This is a seriously expensive mascara and I was taken in by the clever marketing. Despite following all the tips carefully I have found that it does clump and that it is very difficult to remove.
My first disappointment was the length of time it took to arrive. The name Rumi.uk implies a UK based company which it is not. My emails to them regarding delivery were answered promptly which is why I give them 2 stars but the product does not live up to its no clump billing.
My advice is don’t waste your money.
Although they answer their emails very promptly and politely as yet I have not got anywhere regarding the promised refund as of today’s date 22nd April.

Heated wand for dry eyes

I have just bought the heated wand to use on my dry eyes and so far I am very impressed with it.
I have been using microwaveable eye masks to apply warmth to my eyes and it is hard to get them to the right temperature.
This little wand with its heat, massage and red light function does the job very well and my eyes already feel soothed.
Whilst I don’t normally deal with companies who don’t put a physical address on their websites (something I thought was illegal) and who don’t have a phone number, I made an exception in this case.
I have given only 4 stars as peepclub make a big deal about their ethical and sustainability credentials and yet the instructions that come with the wand imply that it will only last a year, which is very disappointing.

Mini Windsor bag

I have been delighted with the brown mock croc mini Windsor bag that I bought in Louth a year or so ago. It get lots of compliments and it is wearing really well.
The branding is subtle and the quality is excellent.
Please F and F, do not go the way of another well known “country chic” brand by lowering your standards and over diversifying. You have it spot on at the moment.

Misleading marketing

For a firm that makes much of being about Great British Excellence, I was surprised to find that most of the garments I examined in Goldings of Newmarket had labels showing they were made abroad. I thought the quality was really poor for the prices. The HC logos on the garden clogs looked cheap and tinny and as if they’d fall off straight away and the binding on the gilets appeared to be plastic rather than real leather, despite a real leather price tag. The tweed on a jacket felt really thin and lacking in substance and warmth. All in all very disappointing and I was glad I was able to see and feel the stuff before buying mail order and having to send it all back.

Best night’s sleep for ages with my new…

Best night’s sleep for ages with my new Baavet pillow.
A friend had been on at me for ages to try a wool pillow and I am so pleased I did.
I will be ordering more things from this delightful company. A dog bed and duvets are on my list.
How lovely to buy from a genuinely UK based company using a sustainable product. The packaging is also good and delivery very prompt.
