McGee & Co. was created in a spare bedroom with lots of big ideas and no room for fabric samples. After many late nights of brainstorming and collaboration, husband and wife team, Syd and Shea McGee decided to take what was a small business for a stay-at-home mom and turn it into something much more.

Truly dreadful customer service . I ordered from England to collect in NYC hotel with 10 days notice . Only one item of the order has been sent the remaining items are somewhere in the abyss . Zero response to e mails . Zero help . Zero ability to cancel my order as apparently no one knows when and if it will be dispatched . Considering you are American I was expecting ting outstanding service . It’s dire . Not at all what the image portrays . Are you ever going to respond and help ?

I placed an order. Four business days later, my order was still not fulfilled. This was for a gift and was concerned it would not arrive in time. I cancelled my order. Easier said than done. Everything is AI and it took an entire day and multiple hours to cancel my order. Their email inbox was full and not accepting emails (surprise)? Finally received an email my order was cancelled and my card was credited. Wrong. I have yet to receive a credit for $91.26. I will NEVER order from this company again.

I have spent a lot of money at McGee & Co. over the years. Most, if not all, furniture has been of high quality with the exception of a console that should have been $500, not $1,200 due to cracks in wood and poor quality. That hasn’t deterred me and I continue to purchase from the site. What is quickly starting to change my mind is how poor their fulfillment, shipping and tracking is. I mean it’s downright awful for a company of this reputation and size, not to mention how expensive. Recently ordered two pillow covers and it’s been 5 business days and they still haven’t shipped. That’s fine except they list they ship within 1-3. When I check the tracking, the web page doesn’t work and customer service isn’t any help. I’ll be lucky to get them within 3 weeks of ordering, meanwhile the inserts (that I ordered from a different company on the same day) arrived 3 days later. Truly rhis shipping is terrible and they should prioritize improving and perfecting this before they worry about anything else.

I bought some fairly expensive pendant lights (3) for around $4000.
It was my first purchase, and I received a 15% discount. Very nice. But the color was not exactly as described, so I needed to return them and exchange for a different color.
To my surprise the intro ( new client) discount is not available on the exchange. I don’t understand that, as it is still my first purchase.
Further, you’re charged a restocking fee of 15% as well. That’s about $600! Really?
So, I lose my discount of 15% (+$600), there is a restocking fee (+$600) and I already paid an exorbitant delivery fee of over $400 on the first order which will be the same on the second. Plus delivery of $$$$ on the return.
Bottom line it will cost me well over $1000.00 to receive, ship and return your product that was not as described. That’s unconscionable!
Heck of a way to treat new customers….
Why am I shopping at McGee & Co?

Unbelievably HORRIBLE communication from McGee and Co. I have been trying for almost a month via emails and phone calls (can only leave messages) to reach them about an unfulfilled order placed September 10th 2025. The customer service is basically an answering machine, asking you to leave a message. They never return calls. I have been attempting to contact them through the customer support email which they encourage but their email server returns a message that the email box is full. Their AI sometimes sends back an email but provides no answer to your question. The AI is named FIN. FIN offers the option to contact a person. The result is another email back to you from the email server that the customer service email box is full. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Perhaps Shea and Sid the owners need to invest in customer service improvement if unless they don’t care about their brands reputation.

I received an order on September 8th but one of the items is missing. I have email customer service 6 times, attempted to chat through their website 3 times and left 2 voicemails. All of the responses are automated and are typically irrelevant to the issue. They send you in a circle advising you to email customer support or to chat, which does not work and just advises you to do the other option. I understand that packing and shipping mistakes happen. My issue is with the lack of customer service. There is no other recourse for correcting their error and I can't get anyone to respond to me. Extremely frustrating and honestly not sure if I'll ever order again for this reason.

Ive purchased a lot of furniture over the past 4 years (have furnished 3 homes top to bottom), and I will say that out of all of the furniture brands we have engaged with (mcgee & co, perigold, serena and lilly, le mae, four hands, etc.), mcgee & co is not only the worst, but arguably the worst retail company Ive ever engaged with. Their customer service department is rude, uninformed, and arrogrant. Whoever is running operations for them needs to be replaced. They embody the worst traits that you would want of someone who is responsible for your customers experience.

Ordered close to $15,000 in furniture and lighting. Furniture has completely fallen apart. Cannot leave a review on their website under the products which seems shady.
Lighting has been great, but we have 6 dining chairs that are so uncomfortable and are literally busting at the joints leaving staples exposed.
All furniture is final sale which is also garbage. Go elsewhere!

Something is wrong with customer service at McGee and Co. I placed an order for 4 dining chairs- at over $800 per chair. One arrived broken in a way that it was clearly a manufacturing/quality control error and not due to shipping. I immediately, called (got a voicemail during business hours? and I left a msg. requesting a call back.) I emailed and tried to chat with support. Each time, I was handed over to a bot. Each time the AI response was that I had done everything right and that all I had to do was respond to the email to get a replacement chair. Every time I replied, I got a completely new bot response. The last one offered me a $50 credit if I kept the chair. An $800, unusable chair, and they offered $50! Which I 'm sure I could never claim because there is no actual person working customer service. This has been an exercise in frustration and I would not order from this company again. The chairs appear to be made of cheap plastic to boot.
EDITED: after 24 hours, I did finally connect with a real person, who gave me a good solution to the problem. Still very frustrated that it took so much time to work out, and still not loving their AI "customer service," but at the end of the day, they made it right.

HORRIBLE communication from McGee and Co. I have been trying for two weeks via emails and phone calls (can only leave messages) to reach them about an unfulfilled order placed July 31, 2025. Now their customer service phone is completely automated and sounds like it is from an overseas connection. No answers to my emails either. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

This is my third time and last time buying from McGee & Co.
This time I ordered a mirror; which had many flaws due to poor craftsmanship and use of cheap materials.
I have been reaching out to customer service to return this mirror for the last 7 days now and cannot get anyone to answer the phone nor emails. It’s so frustrating and beyond unacceptable.
What kind of company doesn’t take care of their customers and takes 7 days to process a return? I don’t even have a return label yet. Let alone a refund.
I’m at a point now that I will count the $700 as lost, just to minimize my stress level because I’m tired of calling and sending emails that never get answered.
Companies who are unable to provide support to their customers should not be in business.

Unreliable company to work with. Partial delivery of furniture set and then failed to deliver remaining pieces. Only will allow cancellation of missing pieces so stuck now with partial set. Ridiculous company and policies. BEWARE.

Truly question how they are in business. Never trust a company that doesn’t accept returns, replace a faulty item, refund anything ever (even partially) or doesn’t let you review an item you have purchased under the account you created on their website.
If they had allowed feedback via their own website they would surely be out of business, and that’s why they don’t allow you to.
So truly terrible.

If I could I would leave zero stars. In February of 2023 I purchased my first item from a catalog for a bedside clock. It was pricey but I liked it. Fast forward to August 2025. The clock stopped working and it wasn’t a battery issue. I called their customer service and was told to email in a video of the clock and they would see what they could do, which I did. Their response was that they couldn’t do anything due to the fact that I didn’t purchase a warranty. That was laughable as no “warranty “ was offered at checkout. The gold on the clock face also started to turn colors which I also brought to their attention in the email. They didn’t even offer a discount for a new clock; which they still carry; which I might have taken. Instead they have lost another customer for life. Cheap made goods in third world countries which they don’t stand behind. By the way Shea, I have clocks in my house that are 20 years old from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn that still work with battery changes. No one should purchase from them.

I am not sure the way they do business is legal under consumer protection laws. You can buy a piece of furniture and suddenly it will go on backorder after you order, by 4-6 months or more, and the backorder date keeps getting moved back. And they say you cannot cancel the order since it was already sent to the manufacturer. It's like a literal bait and switch. Also, design is good but quality is surprisingly poor.

I bought a used vehicle from these individuals. Brian is the person that I dealt with. They are professional schemers. I did not see the vehicle first hand since I blindly trusted these individuals. The car was shipped to me. When I first got the car I took it to my mechanic to have a brake job done in the car. I asked the mechanic to check the oil since a sticker in the windshield was missing. The vehicle showed that it had plenty of oil. A couple days later as I was driving the car started making a horrible noice, it was almost like shooting a gun. The oil gage came one and said the engine needed oil. I immediately drove to the mechanic who after taking a look told me that unfortunately I had been taken. He said that the engine had oil but what these unscrupulous individuals did was add a heavier weight oil in order to mask the problem with the engine. This is fraud but unfortunately for the amount of money and the fact that I would have to file a lawsuit where I bought the car which is in Waco I can not do it. Thee best I can do is file this complaint and warn individuals about these guys. Of course they washed their hands and did not acknowledge what they had done.

I ordered the Arthur Desk in Heritage White Oak desk from McGee & Co. based on the photos and styling shown online, which depicted a cool, neutral-toned finish consistent with the brand’s soft, natural aesthetic. What I received was a desk with a distinctly yellow, almost golden tone that looks dramatically different from the listing.
I reached out to customer service with side-by-side photos and a polite request for an exchange. Despite explaining that my room has abundant natural light and that the desk’s tone is incompatible with the rest of my space, I was told the finish fell within “standard product variance” and no accommodation could be made. I tried again with a more detailed message highlighting how the tone doesn’t align with the advertised images or the brand’s usual palette — still no flexibility.
I understand natural variation, but this wasn’t a subtle shift — it was a completely different look. For a high-end brand that emphasizes curated design, I expected more accountability and better customer support.
Giving two stars because the desk is well-made and the design is beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend purchasing furniture here unless you’re comfortable with receiving something that might look quite different from what’s pictured — and having no recourse if it does.
I will post a review on the site with picture in thirty days. I think it’s also irresponsible that you can’t post reviews to the site sooner.

Their first priority is NOT customer oriented. Their ordering system is poorly run…they cannot make an address correction once an order is placed and refuse to issue refunds on unused/unpackaged items.
I’m a designer who mistakenly ordered (2) dressers instead of (1). When I called the company to initiate a return, they were unwilling to issue a refund or help me come up with a creative solution. So, now I’m stuck with an $1800 dresser that I have to reimburse my clients for….I am VERY disappointed in their “customer service” and will never order from them again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

5/14- Ordered a white canister and shipping was slow. When it finally arrived, lid had a brown/yellow spot. They stated, I would have to go to shipping store, ship the product back, and once received they will send me a replacement...
I included photos and emailed them within an hour of delivery received, so it's not like I'm lying....
If a product arrives damaged, you will be required to wait the full shipping period on top of being responsible for return shipping.
Would never work with them again. I can't imagine the hassle if it's a more expensive item. It's just not worth it.
5/18 - Maybe instead of just reviewing this internally, you can provide me an update on where my replacement is? It was shipped back 3 days ago and I’ve got no replacement coming. I’ve already waited a long time and got a damaged item…..

If I could give negative stars this company would be deserving of that. I ordered 2 chairs ($1600 each) from this company. NO WHERE did it say that they were FINAL SALE. Including the receipt. Not to mention, I tried to return the chairs BEFORE they were even shipped and they would do nothing to rectify or even attempt to help. I would have been happy with even a credit but their Customer Service is absolute trash. I have decorated many homes and I would highly suggest you find your items from a reputable company. NOT THIS ONE! In my experience I have never had this issue happen and complete lack of customer service.
