Review of ASOS

Five weeks plus to get a refund…

Five weeks plus to get a refund organised and another few days to get the refund processed, 3 live chats, two emails, 2 phone calls totalling 2 1/2 hours to get money back for a faulty pair of trainers costing £100 that lasted a few weeks of light wear and developed a fault.
Calamity with everyone we dealt with, atrocious service, lies about refunding times, broken promises and simply an utter shambles, we will not use ASOS for anything again

Atrocious

Atrocious, incompetent and rude service from Calor Grangemouth today.
Apparently a national shortage of gas bottles but they cant explain why or how they’ll fix the issue or put me through to anyone who can as I’m apparently not a customer, having had gas for 20 years.... extremely frustrating and frankly obnoxious

Reply from Calor

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your review

Please accept my apologies on behalf of Calor for any inconvenience. In 2020 we experienced unprecedented demand for our leisure cylinders as people spent more time at home. We therefore invested significantly in additional new cylinders for this year but their arrival in the country has been delayed significantly. These delays are due to longer lead times for steel and brass (key when making cylinders) and our suppliers being based in countries heavily impacted by COVID-19.

Our production teams are working hard to refurbish cylinders ready for filling and our plants are either working 24/7 or with additional shifts to maximise throughput and get filled cylinders to our fulfilment teams for delivery. The opening of holiday facilities has increased that demand and we are prioritising our existing customers first and when we receive the additional cylinders currently on route we will be able to reopen the new business market.

Kind regards,

Katie

If they’re overcharging us they could be overcharging you

I could not believe how much this company has been charging us for it’s classic plus mid range policy for years.
Much more than available online, over phone etc £766pa - for a midrange product.
Got the price more than halved by top rated Boughtbymany with over double the cover and a bunch of extras.

Poor Experiences

F and B on the face of it have some really nice products. Their customer service and after sales are pretty shocking as I’ve experienced more than once, they simply don’t care and are happy to just take your cash, not observing basic customer service or even the Consumer Orotection Act.
Posing as quality with a shoddy customer interface.
Interesting to note that this company seems to think that buying something on display means the customer has no rights in explicit contradiction of the current legislation from 2015.....
Winning a battle which would have cost f and b perhaps £30 to alienate a long term customer - genius!!!

Hello Keith,

Thank you for the review.

We can see that the bed your have purchased was an ex display bed which would not hold any warranty. Our customer service team have advised of the best possible options for a resolution on this matter for you.

Our apologies that you are unhappy with the outcome of your enquiry.

Best Wishes,
F&B

More DPD nonsense last week

More DPD nonsense last week. Delivered attempted before we opened, then was aranged for them to re-deliver later that day.

Did not deliver, waited instead one more day contrary to what they had promised our supplier.

The previous week they attempted delivery after we were closed. As a City Centre Retail Shop, one would think DPD knew how to deal with deliveries after decades of servicing us.

Apparently in Edinburgh - not the case!!!!

More DPD Issues

Another problem one week after my initial DPD difficulties with 2 late deliveries after we close, meaning we have to stay late on a Friday, cannot pack the orders and process them for outward bound orders.

Contacted on Trustpilot my DPD last time saying someone would be in touch to review this - all nonsense.

We have had our suppliers switch deliveries from DPD - new batch of drivers appear clueless and not customer facing. Shame, as until a month ago we had not had a problem with DPD - since than, we've had nothing but issues.

Same guy has replied Below as last time I reviewed saying someone will be in touch..... as we’re waiting a month from the last time, I assume this is more dpd Rubbish - why bother trying to convince people reading the response that you give a damn when you simply don’t bother to follow up!?

Waited late to receive delivery of…

Waited late to receive delivery of stock, lights on, door open as I knew the delivery was due (although I was closed to customers)
Driver did not even try the door, just left a card on the edge of letterbox. Had he nudged or touched the door it would have been clear it was open.
Parcel will now be delayed by bank holiday and Ill get bad feedback from late deliveries of items due.
Chat service less than useless, no phone response despite many attempts, no driver contact - all in all pretty poor all round - it's 2020!!!!

Be Kind!!!!

We’ve used itison for years without issue For hotels and restaurants, receiving a refund for something from March promptly when contacting them recently. This could be partly due to the realising the situation everyone is currently in - Itison too - with businesses closed and staff furloughed, that there’s no point getting hot under the collar, like many of the keyboard warriors here, wasting emotional capital on things beyond everyone’s collective control.
Im sure everyone will be contacted in time, meanwhile take a chill pill and try to be kind!!!

Utterly clueless....

Utterly clueless..... First store didn't answer phone on Walton St with several attempts, customer service just rang out, finally got through to Sloane St. Unhelpful in the extreme!!!!! Upon explaining I lived in Edinburgh, perhaps 450 miles away, my various suggestions of ordering something for my wife were met with "unless you are an existing customer, you have to come in store for the full boutique experience". Basically you cannot become a customer apart from in person which in my instance is not practicable - overall, much like Ryanair, they really couldn't care less and I would rate it as the worst customer interface I have experienced in retail.

screwed up 3 of the last 5 weeks…

screwed up 3 of the last 5 weeks deliveries, no milk at all today, previously wrong, smaller sizes delivered, no milk delivered, "premium juice" delivered but from concentrate product - recent reviews over the past few days look like they've got "the family and friends" involved..... This is a nuts and bolts business..... You have a contract with your customers and do the basics or get knotted..... put simply, fulfil that contact!!!

The Only Way Is Up..... And Up... And Up.... in over inflationary rises

Upon receiving my 9th renewal notice, featuring a 9th circa double inflation increase in premium I decided to call them, bearing in mind I've never made a claim, or if memory serves ever troubled them for anything . I thought perhaps that I was probably overpaying for contents at £625.

The perfectly pleasant but ludicrously nonchalant Jordan told me that, and I quote
"I was lucky to only have a 6% premium increase as many customers were experiencing a 30-40% increase as this is a decision which has been taken at board level"
He then came back to offer £30 off - in other words 5%. Less than any of the past 9 years increases.
Hiscox don't have the rep of being the cheapest, however they did have provenance for value and service for many years and being reasonable on pay out.
It wrankles however when reading many other recent comments here about increases of a ridiculous nature. Whilst I am sure that insurance premiums are going up, they haven't outstripped inflation x2 for a decade every single year.
Companies who take these kinds of liberties with customers usually come unstuck in the long term.

Many thanks for your feedback Keith.

I am sorry for the frustration our renewal pricing has caused. Some customers are seeing larger than inflation premium increases this year and this is due to a number of factors. Individual circumstances can affect our prices, as can external factors such as weather, Insurance Premium Tax and inflationary trends.

We prioritise providing extensive cover and being fair and reasonable when our customers need us, and we aim to offer good value in doing so.

I apologise for the unsatisfactory service you experienced on your call and can assure you we have taken steps to address this internally.

We are grateful for your long standing custom. Thank you for your continuing to insure with Hiscox.

Kind regards

2 attempts to clarify non notified…

2 attempts to clarify non notified baggage changes - a totally comprehensive waste of half an hour. Changing t's and c's without notifying customers is absolutely indicative of the company and its cavalier attitude to customers. Couldn't give a monkeys - I should have known better than to waste my time.
