Do NOT use this company!!

Refusal to answer my numerous emails and phone calls. They have my money from a tax reclaim and are withholding this from me. This company should be investigated as this is criminal practice and theft.

Like pulling teeth …

Had previously used TFTP and although slow the process did get me some compensation.
Then received an invite to say they can look a NatWest account for me for undisclosed commission. So completed the forms back before May 2023 (I'd deleted older emails). Got nothing except "we are chasing your bank" style emails for about a year. Finally the documents came to me so I forwarded them on 3 months ago. Was still getting the "chasing bank" emails so sent the documents again. Still more "chasing the bank" emails but no forward progress. Two months ago complained (but didn't use the word complain) so it was ignored despite it meeting the FCA guidelines on "dissatification" and so complained again yesterday officially after another month of silence. Today got an email saying "Oh we've had a look at the documents and we can't help". What a waste of time! Dreadful service, would never use again or reccomend.

AVOID!!

AVOID!!! Used previously for a PPI claim and the service then was spot on. Was invited to then claim for undisclosed commission several years later. I have had to chase for information and progress throughout the whole process being given generic responses. Sent documents in March as requested and in July told they were working through a backlog. 4 months to process documents is an impressive backlog and would suggest a huge staffing issue. Having sent several chasing emails I was then told claim was suspended due to not providing information which was possibly lost in Pandora’s box of documents causing the “backlog” mentioned. Another chasing email and I was told that as I had received a payout for PPI I couldn’t then claim for undisclosed commission which begs me to ask why invite me to claim.

It’s taken me nearly 2 years to get to this point and wasted time chasing clearly incompetent staff who I highly doubt care about outcome for people and are looking to make as much money as possible. Maybe if you could process documents quicker than 4 months people wouldn’t waste as much of their time. Absolute joke of a company

Communication

The communication over the many years they have been trying to find anything from my decades of financial records and fiance has been woeful to be polite. They unbelievably found nothing from the first bite of the cherry when this all started, then no communication for over a year saying they had a second chance due to the Banks not being transparent but still nothing. I can only surmise they are either under staffed or just not good at what they do.

I cannot discuss your claims in too much detail for DPA reasons but after looking over your file I can see you were not awarded any refunds. Whilst this may sound like a negative, we were able to provide you with peace of mind that you weren't mis sold PPI on many of your finances which we consider a win. There were a small number of outcomes which were unfortunately inconclusive due to the age of the accounts but I do not believe that is a reflection of the service we provided you.

We are sorry to receive such a low rating based on factors that were outside of our control or not financially beneficial to you.

Be AWARE!

I used TFTP a while back regarding PPI. No problem. I then used them regarding a refund in relation to the interest on the PPI. They ad partnered with a firm called ETICO. This firm has been systematically claiming on behalf of customers owed monies and then not passing the refunds on. I contacted TFTP regarding this and they have washed their hands of the partnership. I have asked of they have benefitted from their arrangement with ETICO and they have refused to comment. Be VERY wary.

Dear Iain, we take negative feedback very seriously and would therefore like to provide some clarity after reviewing the chain of emails you exchanged with our customer service department regarding this.

We can confirm that we partnered with ETICO in good faith and worked with them successfully for many years. As explained when we instigated your tax reclaim, our involvement was to simply pass your details onto ETICO who would then be responsible for processing your claim as it wasn't a case we could pursue ourselves. We ceased sending claims to ETICO late last summer after learning that they were going into Administration. As you signed a contract with them, and are their customer we have no visibility over your claim with them, but I am sadden that they haven't contacted you to tell you this or from what we understand from your review, not updated you on the status of your claim either.

We have not financially benefitted from your claim with ETICO, but do encourage you to contact them directly for an update on your claim as it was submitted in advance of their difficulties. We are sorry to receive such a low review for something which we didn't cause, but do appreciated your frustrations and wish you luck in contacting them directly.

This company helped me with my previous…

This company helped me with my previous ppi claims. All were very friendly and made reclaiming what was owed to me very easy by doing all the hard work. The commission is a little high but I guess I wouldn't have done it myself .
I am now apparently owed more money and have sent all my paperwork back. There is little communication from them and I spoke to someone there who I found quite abrupt and a little rude. I do get emails advising that the status of my claim has changed but there is no other information.

For once I wasn't pressured to buy…

For once I wasn't pressured to buy anything! Had a chat with Grant Larcom about my insurances and he actually said what I had already was correct and that is exactly what he would have advised me himself! Very pleasant man (also the lovely lady that put me through to him) 5/5 thankyou for not trying to sell me something I didn't need.... my only concern is that their call initially comes through as 'suspected spam' so I couldn't differentiate from this call to others.. but good all round service

Very poor customer service and do not…

Very poor customer service and do not keep to timescales given.
So this company contacted me and said they could give me a service. I gave them all the information they requested quickly, they then told me they will have an answer around 90 working days from the date they submitted the request. Today we’re will into the 120 working days. I sent 2 emails to them requesting an update to which I had no reply, so today I called them and spoke to a manager who could not give me any straight answers to any of my questions. There next stage is to send my information out again and wait even longer for a response. We didn’t really get anywhere and I come away with no answers to any of my questions. So now I have to resubmit my information and wait another god knows how long for a response. They was not willing to chase the company for an answer neither as they have an agreement with the company I was told, it doesn’t matter that they’re working for me. If I’m honest I’m not very impressed with Ther Fair Trade Practice at all!!

Emotive Sales Pitch not disclosing all info

If this company contact you with regards to undisclosed commission on PPI. Beware! They will tell you on their initial call that the fees are either 20% or 35% + VAT of the amount you receive. What they don't tell you is that within the 38 page solicitor's contract, it states that the fee is as stated but plus disbursements and potentially other costs of their time - which is charged at £600 + VAT per hour. So potentially you could end up owing money! The Fair Trade Practice use emotive phrases in their initial call about the cost of living crisis and money is better in your pocket than someone else's etc etc, which may lead to people signing the paperwork in hopes of getting money back. I used TFTP for miss sold PPI and they were very good - but now I wouldn't trust them at all. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I also don't believe the tax refund reviews on here. You only get a refund if you earned less than the single person's tax allowance in the year you're claiming. I don't believe all these people were in that ballpark of tax
** Edit. The reply from TFTP does not answer my issue which is that they should be clear when trying to get you to sign up regards fees. They state it could be either 20 or 35%, when in reality it is those figures plus disbursements plus any extra costs incurred. My issue is not with the fees - it's the fact that they are not disclosed properly when their agents initially speak to you.

They are trustworthy

They are ok! They really are good at finding what you may be owed and very good at communicating progress and not pushy. They are trustworthy.

Had a good experience with the fair…

Had a good experience with the fair trade practice, they claimed a lot of money back for me from my PPI claims. And they have just got the tax back I paid from HMRC. Thank you so much. Would highly recommend.

My husband had a phone call to tell him…

My husband had a phone call to tell him he had some money to come and it has never arrived. When he spoke to someone about it he was told they would look into it and still nothing. It was on just over £50 but it would help.

A friendly and speedy service

We’ve used The Fair Trade Practice several times now for recovery of PPI, bank charges and tax. A very professional outfit and the phones are always answered promptly by a real person (which I really love!). They keep you up to date and explain everything well, I would definitely recommend them
