Still fights chargebacks despite insolvency proceedings

As unbelievable as it may seem, this defaulted and bankrupt company is still contesting the chargebacks I initiated with my bank. Despite their insolvency, they continue to reject my claims, leaving the final decision in the hands of the credit card network.

In a nutshell: FTI accepts payments for services they neither deliver nor refund, while attempting to deflect you to DRSF, which takes months to respond. Meanwhile, FTI clings to your money, likely trying to minimize withdrawals from their bank account, hoping that the executives responsible for leaving the company with hundreds of millions in debt can still walk away with something.

It’s absurd. Thankfully, a good lesson was learnt there and I now book directly through reputable hotel chains and airlines.

Booked a car with FTI to use in Scotland and received a message from check24 that FTI car rental is bankrupt few days the trip. We have since cancelled the trip but haven't receive our refund yet. If you know that you are going bankrupt why do you still accept booking online?

Wundervoller Urlaub mit FTI

Eine letzte Bewertung und Erfahrung von unserem Urlaub in Khao Lak 2024. Wir waren wie immer Begeistert von allem, von der Buchung unseres Urlaubs bis zum nach Hause kommen.
Danke an Doris Postl von der Restplatzbörse PlusCity (bei Doris Buchen wir alle unsere Urlaube seit 18 Jahren ) auch die Vorort Betreuung im Urlaubsort seitens FTI war voll okay. Tip von uns, am besten 11 Monate voraus Buchen damit ihr auch das bekommt was ihr euch wünscht.
Turkish Airlines für das perfekte Service ( Turkish Airlines ist bei meinen Top 5 an vierter Stelle bei Business Class ) Preis – Leistung ist voll okay
Hotel Moracea für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt, Supansa Phankanit und Kollegen für das sehr gute Essen und Service.
Andalay Bar Khaolak Andalay bar-new page für den wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang bei einem Cocktail und die perfekten Massagen 🌴😎🍻

One final review and experience from our holiday to Khao Lak 2024. As always, we were thrilled with everything from booking our holiday to getting home.
Thanks to Doris Postl from the Restplatzbörse PlusCity (we have been booking all of our holidays with Doris for 18 years) and the on-site support at the holiday destination from FTI was also completely okay. Tip from us, it's best to book 11 months in advance so that you get what you want.
Turkish Airlines for the perfect service (Turkish Airlines is fourth in my top 5 for business class) Price – performance is completely okay
Hotel Moracea for the wonderful stay, Supansa Phankanit and colleagues for the very good food and service.

Embarking on a holiday with FTI Touristik GmbH, I had a great experience with exceptional service from booking to the luxurious stay in Istanbul. The guided tours were enlightening, unveiling a lovely history and beauty of Turkey’s landmarks. A hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia’s morning landscape was incredible. schrecklicher Service!!!!!!

It was my first and last journey with FTI.
I almost haven’t flown on my holidays!!!
FTI didn’t put my name on passenger list!!!
I’ve tried to fix the problem with 24 hour call center and quess what???!!!

Scam, FRAUD, just steal your money

Well, I am not sure this review will be taken into account by FTI, but at least I want to warn people to avoid this agency and stay away! We find the flight ticked and decided to book it. The booking was provided by FTI but thru the travel agency. So, we sent request for the booking and thought we receive the link to pay for the ticket immediately, but we received it after several hours and by this moment our plans already had been changed. So, we decided to ignore the link and just do not buy the ticket, but after a couple days we got a message from FTI that we have to buy the ticket or cancel it by providing the 80% payment from ticket price. Means we have to PAY them in any way, even if you DON´T buy the ticket and DIDN´T get any service. I could accept the situation when you bought ticket and then by some reasons you want to cancel it and therefore should pay some fee for cancellation. BUT why I have to pay fee for the ticket which I dind´t buy?! They are fraud and scamers. Please don´t have anything with them otherwise your money will be stollen.

Why do you reply your unsatisfied customer on German language, since my review is is English? It is impolite and not respectful. Secondly, why should I inform you about changing my plans if I have not received the link for payment for 3 hours? And please let us be clear, you must inform your customers before they press the button "book" about your strange terms and conditions by CAPSLOOK and BOLD letters, to let them know that in case they are not buying ticket, but still making reservation they will loose they money anyway. Where this was saying about? I did not get any similar warnings or at least notification from you or agency before making a reservation. Nothing! I never faced with the similar situation with other companies while booking the ticket. They always send the link for payment immediately or people never have to pay for the ticket which YOU DID NOT BUY! I never faced with such terms and conditions. NEVER. You are FAKERS. And if gather all your unsatisfied customers from here, it is easy to go to the court with class action.
Please everyone, avoid this company or you get into the trouble.
P.S. I will spread my review in social network as well (linkedin, instagram) to warn as much people as possible.

Once again guys...You must put the clear text in your terms&conditions that should sound like: once YOU MAKE A RESERVATION ( EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T BOUGHT YOUR TICKETS YET) YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY MONEY ANYWAY. In your version of terms & conditions I haven't found similar text. And yes, nobody sent me similar information after making reservations, I checked it several times, or maybe it is placed somewhere in a tiny text?

Read so many negative reviews about this scam agency and thought that it must be spread! People who were harmed already from this scammers or who will unfortunately trapped on their skin-game, I proposed to spread information about your negative experience with fti through Instagram, by writing post/stories with #fti#scammers. There is already existing the instagram page dedicated to this scammer, so the more negatives reviews will be spread, the more chance to destroy and stop this fraud. Don't let them to be the winner and continue to fool people.

Ich möchte die Leute warnen, diese Agentur zu meiden und sich fernzuhalten! Wir fanden den Flug angekreuzt und beschlossen, ihn zu buchen. Die Buchung erfolgte über FTI, jedoch über das Reisebüro. Also schickten wir eine Buchungsanfrage und dachten, wir würden den Link zur sofortigen Bezahlung des Tickets erhalten, aber wir erhielten ihn nach mehreren Stunden und zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatten sich unsere Pläne bereits geändert. Also haben wir beschlossen, den Link zu ignorieren und das Ticket einfach nicht zu kaufen, aber nach ein paar Tagen erhielten wir eine Nachricht von FTI, dass wir das Ticket kaufen oder es stornieren müssen, indem wir 80 % des Ticketpreises zahlen. Das heißt, wir müssen sie in irgendeiner Weise BEZAHLEN, auch wenn Sie das Ticket NICHT gekauft und KEINEN Service erhalten haben. Ich könnte die Situation akzeptieren, wenn Sie ein Ticket gekauft haben und es dann aus bestimmten Gründen stornieren möchten und daher eine Gebühr für die Stornierung zahlen müssen. ABER warum muss ich für das Ticket, das ich nicht gekauft habe, eine Gebühr zahlen?! Sie sind Betrüger und Betrüger. Bitte haben Sie nichts dabei, sonst wird Ihr Geld gestohlen
FTI unternimmt nun große Anstrengungen, meine Bewertung zu löschen. Dies wäre unfair gegenüber Menschen, die unter diesen Betrügern leiden könnten. DIE MENSCHEN SOLLTEN ES WISSEN. Schauen Sie sich die anderen Bewertungen an, sie sind nur NEGATIV!

With your booking (travel registration) you bid
FTI bindingly concludes a contract
the travel service you require. You will then receive confirmation of receipt from your travel agent
your travel registration. The contract between you and FTI becomes binding upon receipt of the booking confirmation/invoice from FTI. If your travel plans change, you must notify FTI in writing or by telephone of your cancellation and not simply ignore the link. FTI is also obliged to pay the costs to the service providers (airlines and hotels).

This procedure is common and correct on all online travel portals. Before completing your travel booking, you will be informed of the terms and conditions, which you have confirmed by clicking on them.

Echoing the other negative reviews here - really bad

hotel was cancelled on the day we travelled - we know this because we checked with the hotel to find out what happened. Assume the cancellation was a simply a cost saving exercise by FTI, the hotal had plenty of rooms available and had us booked in until the day before. We were not informed by FTI at all until we got to the bus to the hotel after landing (with kids in tow so we were exhausted).

No apology, no-one on the ground who could help us, neither of the service lines for FTI worked. Just "get on the bus now or we will not take you".

Will never travel with FTI again and I highly recommend that you do not either

Nightmarish Experience: A Shocking Tale of Unprofessionalism and Betrayal with FTI

I cannot emphasize enough how utterly appalling this company is; I implore you, avoid booking with them at all costs. Our recent encounter with their services during our holiday in Egypt has left us utterly disillusioned. We had planned an exciting trip to Cairo, and our contact person, Khaled El Gezawy, appointed by FTI, seemed like a nightmare in disguise.

Our scheduled trip was set for Tuesday, the 27th, with a pickup time of 2:20 AM. We organized our entire holiday around this much-anticipated excursion and even retired to bed early on Monday to ensure we were well-rested. However, the ordeal began when we were abruptly awakened at 11:55 PM by a knock on our door, only to be told that the trip had been canceled because we were the sole participants. Imagine our shock—merely two hours before our planned departure time! To add insult to injury, Khaled had the audacity to send an email to our hotel at 11:22 PM, as if that could suffice as a proper notification. Outrageous, unprofessional, and downright ludicrous.

His email arrogantly proposed two options: a refund or rescheduling for Thursday. Little did Khaled realize that we were leaving the next day, making Thursday utterly impossible for us. In a further display of his incompetence, the email stated that he would be present at our hotel at 10:30 AM. Trusting his word, I positioned myself in the lobby by 10:25 AM, eagerly awaiting his arrival. To my dismay, I ended up wasting a torturous 25 minutes of my precious time, only to discover that he was a no-show. Frustrated and fed up, I consulted the FTI tour book and dialed his number. To my astonishment, Khaled had the audacity to inform me over the phone that he had already left the premises, leaving cash at the reception—an amount significantly less than what we had paid.

In light of this dismal experience, I vehemently urge you to steer clear of this service. And to FTI, if you happen to come across this review, I implore you to reevaluate your choice of employees. Khaled's actions have showcased a level of unprofessionalism that is simply unacceptable.

They directly lied about the vacation

Do not purchase a trip with FTI.
They lied to me and my girlfriend about what was included in the travel and what was possible at the resort.

They claimed dyving and windsurfing was possible and even that windsurfing was included in the price, however, this was quickly debunked by the hotel manager as not possible and not having been an option at their hotel.
At best they could offer some sailing in a small kanoo, but this was currently not possible due to legal issues.

Overall the hotel we got was nice and the staff was nice too, but FTI mislead us with false promises and is refusing to assist in any way without a fight.

So a vacation that should have been fun has turned into a legal battle where we are looking to sue for breach of contract and fraudulent marketing.

Fun little note.
Even the hotel knew that FTIs advertisement for all inclusive was extremely misleading, as not everything is included.
So they have been in contact with FTI about changing some wording there, however, FTI has technically accommodated this, but you need to go to a very specific spot on their website to truely be correctly informed about what is included in an "all-inclusive"

So overall 10 out of 10 would get lawyer involved again :)

Very poor information providing (vi@ Meetingpoint Hrllad), unbelievable.
There was no information whatsoever in the hotel. I called a phone number for the transfer time back. First two times no answer; than the 3rd time a lady spoke wuickly im german, didnt speak english, but couldnt provide answer and referred me to hotel reception. Hotel reception had to call three different numbers to figure out the return time.
This is really really bad!

THINK TWICE BEFORE CHOOSING FTI TOURISTIK

The worst touristik agency! Do not go on a vacation with FTI Touristik! I bought a vacation to Thailand and at the airport they said that our agency (FTI Touristik) cancelled a part of our flight and never re-booked it so they don’t have our reservations so we didn’t get into the plane. They left us at the airport and FTI didn’t answer any of our emergency calls with the emergency number they gave us! I had to book a hotel and buy food for my own for the next 24 hours till they made us a new reservation. After all we wrote a complaint and their answer was it wasn’t their fault, but airlines and we have to settle the matter with them. I didn’t buy a vacation from airlines but from FTI so they are resposible for what happened! I will never buy a vacation from FTI ever again!! To everyone who is considering taking a vacation with FTI - THINK A FEW TIMES before making a decision.

No reservation, no car

The Alamo desk at Toulouse airport did not have a trace of my reservation (or claimed not to have) and did not have a car available in the right category. I had booked a 7 seater minivan/monospace because we were a group of 5, including two children requiring booster seats. All they had was a BMW 4 which meant that one adult had to sit squeezed in the middle of the back bench. They were able to swap the car later in the day for a SUV but overall still a bad experience causing stress and wasting time. Also, the local Alamo staff accused me of having caused damage to the first car (when swapping) when there was no damage: unpleasant experience.

Horrible !!! Don't take vacation with FTI

We went to Egypt with flyegype and group fti and crossroads.
We are very angry with fti and crossroads who know cashed the money but are non-existent when you need two.
Fti is aware of the company’s very regular problems but who continues to work with them at the expense of its travelers.
This is unacceptable on the part of French companies.

Booked a trip to Kenya with FTI

Booked a trip to Kenya, Mombasa, Diani Reef, with FTI. My luggage got lost during the flight. Touroperator from FTI, Jimmy Kahindi says he does everything but keeps asking for the same documents over and over again. I arrived in Kenya on the 6 of January. It’s now the 15 January and still no luggage. Every morning I have to text him to ask for information. Bad service.

Bei verspätetem oder verlorenem Gepäck sollte Ihr erster Weg immer zum jeweiligen Lost and Found Schalter der gebuchten Fluggesellschaft sein. Die Mitarbeiter brauchen zur Registrierung Ihre Bordkarte, da auf dieser auch die Gepäckregistrierungsnummer vermerkt ist. Sollte das Gepäck nicht sofort auffindbar sein wird eine formelle Verlustmeldung aufgenommen. Bestehen Sie auf einen Beleg und klären am besten gleich ab, wie Sie an das Gepäck gelangt sobald es aufgefunden ist.
Darüber hinaus sollten Sie nach dem Recht einer Ersatzausstattung erkundigen da es hier keine einheitlichen Richtlinien gibt. Manche Fluggesellschaften verteilen in solchen Fällen sogenannte Overnight Kits mit Unterwäsche und den wichtigsten Hygieneartikeln, andere wiederum geben einen Barvorschuss dessen Höhe meist von der Buchungsklasse abhängig ist.
Bei verspätetem Gepäck kann die die Fluggesellschaft für die Ausgaben für notwendige Ausgaben in Folge der Verspätung aufzukommen. Dabei sollte man aber beachten, dass die Fluggesellschaft nicht alles bezahlt, daher sollte die Anschaffung schon plausibel erklärbar sein.
Die Belege für alle Neuanschaffungen müssen aufbewahrt werden damit sie im Anschluss bei der Fluggesellschaft eingereicht werden können. Diese muss bis spätestens drei Wochen nach Erhalt des Originalgepäcks gemacht werden.
Sollte Ihr Koffer trotz aufwendiger Suche nicht mehr auffindbar sein, ist leider zusätzliche Bürokratie nötig. Sie müssen je nach Fluggesellschaft ein Formular ausfüllen in dem Sie den Koffer und seinen Inhalt beschreibt und die Werte festlegt.
Wertgegenstände (z. B. Notebook, Handy, Fotokamera, Schmuck, Schlüssel, Dokumente) die im Koffer statt im Handgepäck verpackt hat sind werden bei Verlust nicht durch die Fluggesellschaft erstattet.

Misleading

Booked and payd for a 5-star suite in Concorde el Salam (Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt) based on advertisement with luxury room and hotel pictures. When arrived they placed us in Concorde el Salam Sport, NOT the hotel we have booked, dirty, old and not even one star worth. The FTI-guide told us that if we want to have the room we have booked for, WE HAVE TO PAY EXTRA, otherwise he could do nothing for us. Two things (for those who want to book Concorde el Salam): this hotel is NOT the same hotel as Concorde el Salam Sport. FTI says it is the same, but beware, it’s too late when you arrive there. We will never travel with FTI again and will share our experieces within our network.

Warning about Tour ‘Dubai by Night’ and…

Warning about Tour ‘Dubai by Night’ and FTI Tour Operator ‘Meeting Point’ !!!

Unfortunately we have to inform you not to trust the overpriced tour operator ‘Meeting Point’ of FTI apparently run by mostly Egyptians!!! We were sold a disastrous tour ‘Dubai by Night’ by the responsible person/FTI representative Hatem for Ajman/UAE.

It started already with the pick-up/transfer to our tour bus, being done by a driver that was smelling just unacceptably bad, did not, as promised by Hatem, supply any water/drinks for 1,5 hours and drove like a maniac with children incl. our 6 year old daughter among the 7 passengers we were in total. (he also picked us up at nighttime smelling even worse and now being distracted by a girlfriend of his on the passenger seat)

After we arrived drained at the tour bus pick-up close to the ’Atlantis Hotel’, we switched to a big tour bus that did not even have cooled bottles of waters on hand & stopped immediately 5 minutes after we boarded at the first ‘photo stop’ Atlantis Hotel.

After this “stop” the whole tour turned out to be a mixture between a completely overpriced “Photo-/Biased-Shopping Tour” that either did not provide for enough time to enjoy the few “nicer” shopping stops or left you in a completely overpriced jewelry store with amateur salesmen and a, at best, pathetically equipped selection still not being supplied by any other drink choices (as promised) but water & without ANY snacks for 9 hours!!!

Just simply a disgrace & rip-off tour by ‘Meeting Point’!

As we arrived finally at our anticipated stop at the Burj Kahlifa/Dubai Mall we were already so “hangry” & frustrated, that even the Aquarium (of course at additional charge!) or the ridiculously short ‘Bellagio/Vegas Copy Water Fountain Show’ that didn’t even last for 5 Minutes, could change the feeling of this ‘disastrous tour’, being left for over 3 hours before the last “highlight” of the tour, the boat trip from the Dubai marina through the canal of the lit up skyscraper skyline of Dubai was scheduled!

The Egyptian, german speaking tour guide ‘proudly’ announced & praised the buffet onboard & told us we can be excited since all drinks would be included & we would have the “privilege” being seated in the air conditioned lower deck of the traditional boat. “Of course” not even 1!!! beer or alcoholic beverage was included & waiters tried desperately to sell $10/€9 CANS of Heineken or ridiculously overpriced wine to us, meanwhile the countless air conditioners onboard were either damaged, blowing HOT air out or did not cool the “dining deck sufficiently” to be seated without getting ‘drenched’ during your meal!

Needless to mention that the selection of the cheap buffet is not even worth to talk about & consisted of the cheapest available type of foods around in Dubai!

To sell a tour like this for the staggering amount of €150/Person €75/Children is an offense to all tourists of the UAE & we urgently recommend to NEVER book any tour with ‘Meeting Point’ given the lies & misinformation that were given to sell the tour to uninformed tourists in 5-Star Hotels!!!

We like to mention that the tour guide at least was kind & informative, but seemed just to be a big biased part of the entire RIP-OFF!

Now comes the ‘Kicker’, motivating us to leave this thorough feedback for all customers not to ‘fall’ for this tour operator:

“We immediately filed an official complaint incl. our wish of a partial refund with our “SalesPerson & FTI Representative” Hatem among several others (non-related) hotel guests complaining about this “Tour”!”

Hatem promised he’d get back to us no later than Saturday (since the following Friday was a ‘holiday’) with a decision about at least a partial refund, however NO apology for the unacceptable experience whatsoever.

After he did not return to any guests nor us, until late Sunday, we filed now a complain about his inexcusable ‘lack of responsibility/attention’ to our matter.
Only then were informed by him that he was “sorry” but had so many WhatsApp complaints & to attend to so many other issues in other hotels in the Emirates that he messed up informing either us or any other rightfully ‘fuming’ hotel guests about the decision of the ‘amateur management’ of Meeting Point (probably also Egyptian)!

The compensation offer/decision that “Meeting Point” has come up with? Not 1!!! Euro/Dollar will be refunded and we should try to deal with FTI back home after our return, offering a worthless complain report for us, that we partially even filled out ourselves, because he could have cared less!

Therefore we explicitly want to inform all curious tourist to refrain from using ‘Meeting Point’ at any given time and considering to either take a private much cheaper alternative or at least avoid this company all together!

Do not book with this company

Do not book with this company. On arrival in Tunisia, other companies had a stand with their name on a board for passengers to see. FTI had a chain smoking man with FTI scribbled on a bit of paper . He only spoke German and pointed us in the direction of the buses for the transfer. The hotel was disgusting and in very poor state. We contacted FTI by telephone but the guy said he didn’t speak much English and suggested we send a message instead. The message got no reply. So we sent another message which was replied to four days later (in German of course) telling us to call the number we originally called. So customer service was appalling. Twice, we were told by the hotel that a FTI agent was coming to to hotel and both times, no one turned up. Not a surprise. This company is happy to book customers from outside Germany and accept their money but totally refuses to try and communicate with them. To prove this point, take note of their previous replies to comments on this site. All in German .Shocking travel company who really should be avoided. They just don’t care.
Update following reply….
A travel company should provide assistance and help if needed in widely used languages, like English for example. We are Dutch but can speak English. Our hotel was beyond dire and unfit for human habitation yet we were unable to speak to the helpline as they didn’t understand, or maybe they just don’t care. Either way, the help/assistance/emergency number provided was NOT contactable due to their inability to communicate. We were also left waiting TWICE by agents who did not appear. FTI say in the reply that not all languages can be guaranteed by agents on site. Well for that to be possible, the agent would actually have to turn up! Basically they took our money and that was it. Either the hotel is not properly checked by the so called experts or they ignore the squalor and expect customers to accept it.

Update. As requested, contacted FTI through the link they gave me. No reply. Looking at other reviews, I’m not surprised.

With around 6 million passengers, FTI is Europe's third largest tour operator. Based in Germany, we have predominantly German-speaking guests and therefore also predominantly German-speaking tour guides. Tourism is one of the sectors that has been hit hardest by the corona pandemic. Many tour guides around the world have been laid off and have not returned to their jobs, so that not all languages ​​can always be guaranteed on site.

A complete disaster by FTI

Everything about our vacation in Egypt was a disaster. When we arrived at the AMC hotel we were given a very dirty suite that was not cleaned from the previous guests. The room was also in very poor state. Definitely not what we expected from a 5-star hotel. Next day we were given another suite that was in a slightly better condition. Still not 5 star, more like 1 star. On that second day we got food poisoning from the terrible food in the blue lagoon restaurant in the hotel. We were so sick that we could not go on any excursions. We spent the rest of our holiday in bed, vomiting and diarrhoea. Avoid this place at all cost. I plan to sue FTI.
