Avoid this Company at all costs
Avoid this Company at all costs. Customer service is horrendous, and if you are dealing with someone all you get is out of office
If you have a genuine question on your pension, or want to add money to it, forget it
Save yourself the hassel research other companies, no wonder the reviews are so bad

clear and smooth communication, fast underwriting decisions
It was clear and smooth communication, advisor provided all necessary information before, during and after meetings. I didn’t chase or follow up, all was done right time right place. Underwriter made decisions and feedback within an hours rather than days as I have with other insurance companies.

zero stars
zero stars - can't run a bath. They actually caused me so much stress just trying to get a statement for my tax return. They cost me money , time and stress and claim to care about our health! Disgraceful company and absolute attrocious management - you should be ashamed of yourselves. In 7 phone calls not 1 manager would agree to speak to me and each time I was told they've 'put in the request and marked it urgent' 7 days later and no one knows where any of those requests are. I'll be filing a formal complaint as this has cost me 500 euros

Financial advisor never showed up
The sdvisor reached out to me as a Financial Advisor with Irish Life to provide assistance for clients as they get closer to retirement.
He set a meeting with me but I never got any call from him, after I contacted him he said he was waiting for me in Teams but I was never told anything about Teams, I was expecting a call. I asked him to set another meeting by email and He responded my email saying that he would set another meeting but I never heard from him
No very professional

Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. Online accounts not fit for purpose, if you forget password and try and reset it will keep showing error messages. Please do not post a generic reply to this the same as every other poster and actually deal directly with issues and solve them. Very disappointing

I asked them about the poor performance…
I asked them about the poor performance of my pension and struggled to get reponse from Irish Life. When I queried their fees and charges they also stone walled me. I moved my pension to another provider and they fined my c €2k.
Stay clear of Irish Life Pensions for your own financial health!!!

Refuse to cover dental x-ray
Refuse to cover dental x-ray even if the policy said it is cover at 50%. They are unable to provide a valid reason of not covering the dental x-ray.

Snitches
Everytime you miss a direct debit on your mortgage protection plan, Irish Life send a letter straight to your bank letting them know. Even though they intend on attempting to try the direct debit a second time. I would have thought they'd give the customer the benefit of the doubt and not snitch on them to the bank until the second or third payment fails? By comparison, the banks don't report you to the credit score agencies until the third missed payment.
Obviously this is written in the terms of service and they're within their right to notify the bank since they own the policy, but it just goes against their consumer-friendly, trustworthy branding that the first opportunity they get, they snitch on you to the bank, without any hesitation.
You're still within cover for a few weeks after that first payment date anyway, so it's not like the plan is at risk until the second or third payment is missed. I'd strongly encourage them to hold off on loudly messaging the plan owner for a few days at least.
Website, customer care staff and price plans are 5*.

Did not refund surgery they promised refunding, do not answer questions properly
- Customer service incredibly unhelpful and skirt around questions. You only get vague answers or pointed to a place you already looked
- They told me I would get money back for a surgery and then they denied it later even though I had everything I needed
- Overall bad experience and not worth the money

A disgrace
A disgrace. locked out of my account, call customer service 3 times, waited 20 - 30 minutes each time and they dropped my call twice. I explained this on the 3rd call asking politely that if it happened again, could they call me back, to which I was told, no. A really shocking service for the thousands of euro paid annually.

Avoid Irish Life products like the plague!
Everything about this organisation is poor. Save yourself future problems by using alternative service providers. For financial services try Zurich or Allianz. And for health insurance use VHI or Laya you’ll save yourself time and stress by doing so.

This is the worst service I have ever…
This is the worst service I have ever experienced. Changing my phone number took 2-3 weeks, during which I couldn't log in to my account. I made 100 phone calls, constantly being transferred from one department to another. Now that I can finally log in, I get a backend error when trying to update my information. Additionally, every time I attempt to upload claims, I receive a "session failed" error. NOTHING WORKS on this site! Avoid at all costs!

100% stay away from this company
100% stay away from this company. Just look at the amount of negative reviews. We had an awful experience. We were put in touch with Irish Life through EBS when going for our mortgage. We had a zoom meeting and while it was very informative the person we were dealing with Tim insisted on taking our bank details and assured us nothing would be activated until we had a draw down date. Well guess what?? He took our money and activated without our consent, claiming EBS was responsible for making a mistake and telling him to activate it. If there was an internal clerical error or miscommunication it had nothing to do with us the customer yet we were made to feel like we had some sort of blame in this. To make matters worse, when we went to activate our policy, he increased it by 18.5%. What sort of company does this? How can you justify an increase of that amount? He told us we either take the huge increase or we pay for months of insurance dating back to the mistake….for an account we never activated. It really felt like this person was punishing us and it was nasty. You’d think if they made a mistake they would apologise, but they actually charged us the customer for it. Awful experience. I must say that we received a follow up call from Dublin which was really positive. Morris listened to our experience which was very helpful. Nevertheless, it doesn’t change the fact that we agreed a price and they went back on the agreement at drawdown. We were cheated. Just read the other reviews….80% negativity…its companies like Irish Life that give the insurance industry a poor reputation. We all just need to keep sharing our experience to warn others. Just feel like we were taken for a ride. I would not recommend Irish Life to anybody.
Wish I'd read reviews before taking…
Wish I'd read reviews before taking Broker's word that this was the company to go with for Company Pension. Disastrous. No communication for weeks. They just don't answer emails and it's impossible to get through on phone. Thought when we got a 'relationship' manager that would improve communication. Wouldn't recommend at all. So disappointed as I have health Insurance and personal life plans with them and they have all been fine.
