Absolutely untrustworthy company. Do not use. They lie, cheat and bully. What a surprise they changed their name to Novuna! They are the worst company I have ever had to deal with. You will be lucky if you get through to customer services especially if you want an issue resolved. They will do all they can to rip you off then when you complain they add interest while you wait for a long time for them to reply. I used the Financial Ombudsman and received compensation for their conduct but they then added more interest. I started repaying the arrears left and they told me to stop until I heard from another company. So I stopped. I had no correspondence until a Business County Court letter requesting payment arrived. More stress and anxiety! Now I had court fees and a legal team payment to make too! I responded with an explanation that I had started paying the arrears but they told me to cease. I have not heard back from the court yet, but low and behold I received another letter from Novuna requesting payment of the original amount owed. I can only assume they are still intent on bullying me into paying the full amount or a larger amount than I offered monthly to the court.
Along with someone else who has left a negative review, the car I leased went back with lower mileage due to covid and they told me I should have reduced my mileage. I had tried to do this but they said I couldn’t. Then 2 months before I had to send the car back I asked for some reduction due to the lower mileage and they told me that I should have reduced the mileage 6 months before the lease ended! I had called them during Covid, 8 months before my lease was up!! They then accuse me of lying. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID
Unable to complete an application…
Unable to complete an application despite it being accepted due to technical errors on their website. Long call queues trying to speak to someone. No one has yet replied to my emails. Have asked to cancel and still waiting for my deposit to be refunded.

Absolutely terrible company. No feedback and non existent customer service. This company is not interested in the customer at all . . . It just wants to make money out of you. Avoid at all cost.
Car leasing.. No customer service
Car leasing... After 3 months something simple has gone wrong. The radio has crashed on BBC radio 4. Its driving me insane.
How do I fix this.. simple solution does not exist with Hitachi. I have to queue up for call answer. Go through 20 questions. Book my car in... When there's a space. As all this is so time consuming and they seem either completely stupid or just don't care. Then they close at 5.30. I don't have time during the day, in the week to sit on the phone to them sorting out a small bit very frustrating issue on my car and I still don't have the car booked in... No solution... More Radio 4. I wish things could work like the old days... Talk to a human being that knows about the problem and can tell you how to fix it. This looks like it will take weeks.. Let's hope its not months.
Edit.. Actually spoken to more helpful people from Hitachi. It would actually take until March to "book the car in" for this small problem but if I drive 10 miles for 7.50am on Saturday morning they will do while I wait. I suppose this is a problem with MG cars not Hitachi hence I will edit up to 3" for Hitachi (the First 2 representatives Ispoke to were unhelpful... The last 2 reps I have no complaints)

This is the worst service I've ever received from any company. I applied for finance (whilst already having an on-going finance with them dating back 4 years successfully), but they rejected my new application. It took 2 months of persistence to get an answer for why it was rejected to find out it was because my new address wasn't updated on the electoral register. For such a minor thing, surely they could have advised before rejecting? Anyway, I resolved the issue and tried again, but every time you ring or email them, you never get through to their underwriting team. And they NEVER get back to you. In the end I saved up enough money to buy the item. This is a company to avoid if possible as it will only waste your time if theres a slight discrepancy. I will re-post this when they change to NOVUNA. I can see why they'd want to change their name!
Avoid like the plague
I first encountered Hitachi (soon to be renamed NOVUNA Personal Finance) five years ago when they pulled a classic bait and switch on a loan.
Last year, I had some double glazing fitted and was offered a one year interest free loan by the company fitting the windows, through Hitachi. Toward the end of the agreement, I happened to check my credit report and was shocked to discover an entry for well over double the loan amount had been added, negatively impacting my credit score. I had been given no warning that this would happen.
I paid off the loan amount in full and on time. I was charged an "admin fee" on top of the original amount but this didn't stop Hitachi taking a first month's payment as though the original loan had never been paid off.
Nearly two months later, there is still an entry on my credit report making out I owe Hitachi over £11,000, even after I compained to then both by phone and by email. I speculate that the intention of seeking to damage my credit rating is that I would be forced to go back to them for another loan.
Knowing how useless and toothless the FCA (like all government quangos) are and how unconcerned the credit reference agencies are about maintaining accurate records, it looks like the only way I will be able to sort this mess out is with civil proceedings in Court. And maybe that's by design; a country run by lawyers for the benefit of lawyers.

I agreed to repay an outstanding B&Q Kitchen Finance on a Monthly basis.
They were asking for £200.00 a Month !, When I was already suffering Hardship through the Covid Period.
I managed to go to Court and got the Monthly payment down to £60.00. Not before they put a purchase order against my property. And then to top it off they ensured that I was put on as a late payer. Which I was not. And then got a Six years Bad Credit put on my Credit file !. Absolute joke. I would give -1 Star if possible. Avoid like the Plague !. Thankfully I am paid up in full now. Never deal with them again. Good Riddance.

the car on had 29,000 miles on the clock way under the miles i had booked,
Hitachi will not reduce the last payment for the car going back early or the low miles,
All i had was pressure to get the car back, having to be with the car on inspection day and hand over day,
this Hand over day was early also, not what was booked,total rip off company

Poor customer service, poor IT system
Applied for a loan to pay for a new door I ordered via other company. Loan approved. Can't log in to newly created account. Called in. One hour wait time. Eventually I got connected after I tried few times at different hours. Been told that's how it works, I have loan approved but I can't see it and all these e-mails are sent in error. OK, so how I supposed to see my loan contract, how can I sign it, if I can't log in? I asked for papers to come by post. Papers came in. There is a typo in my name in direct debit order. Called in. They can't change it. They want me to go ahead with a loan not in my name, because I will be able to change it later once loan goes live. Really??! Unacceptable, poor customer service, I cancelled my loan an been accepted instantly elsewhere, where I could log in to my account immediately, review contract and sign immediately, without calling for hours and waiting for post letters. Not recommending Hitachi Capital.

Oh what a company I applied for credit back in April it was referred then declined despite my good credit rating and very good history with them 3 accounts which were buy now pay latter all paid up before the first payment was due. I have had no letters from them concerning my three accounts that were settled in full. I complained to them but I did not appeal and got reply hiding behind the credit reference agency. In July I checked my credit score via my bank santander it was very high. I applied again today and its referred again

We’ve had 3 loans off hitachi over 11 years and never missed a payment . 6 payments from current loan ending we applied for a loan to pay off balance transfer cards that were due to end and start charging stupid interest rates. We never ran up debt on living expenses but renovations to add value to the home we are selling next year at a huge profit . Credit cards used and juggled so we’ve paid tiny fees & no fees over the years of renovation . So we are not using cards for day to day expenses . However hitachi didn’t even ask the purpose of the loan - refered to underwriting so they could have ! Instead we have sold some antiques which hurts as they are inherited to clear the credit cards. For that reason I will never forgive them. I was approved then rejected so they give false hope then leave a footprint and rejection on the credit file. Good job it’s next year we will be applying for a mortgage when we sell up.

The lass we spoke to was unhelpful useless and very condescending.

I mean what a guess for me to know my partners name number and current address. Which just shows you how ridiculous their "safety measures are" she told my partner that she could only accept answers from me which begs the question of how do you deal with vulnerable people if you won't accept answers from others.
