Just setting it up: the manual is not useful (it starts beeping the second you plug it in, manual tells you nothing about how to shut it off.) But this is the important part: DON’T CALL THE PHONE NUMBER!!! It hooks you up to what seems to be a medical alert necklace scam!
I just set up my new Birdfy birdbath camera, and overall I’m really happy with it so far!
The package arrived one day late, but everything was well packaged and easy to assemble. The only hiccup I ran into was during setup. At first I tried using the old Netvue app, but it couldn’t detect the birdbath. I reached out to customer support and they were super helpful—they explained that I needed to use the new Birdfy app instead. Once I downloaded that, connecting was quick and easy.
A couple of things to note for new users:
• The instructions don’t say how much water to put in the basin.
• The fountain only works in full, direct sunlight. I originally thought charging the camera would also power the fountain, but that’s not the case.
It’s only day two, so I haven’t had any feathered visitors yet, but the camera and fountain look great and everything is working smoothly. Excited to see some birds soon!
Set up the camera in February this year. Loved watching the birds that visited the poshest restaurant in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately, moments stopped appearing in the app (the camera wouldn't recognise movement). I contacted customer support, and they sent a replacement camera within two weeks. Back online now for about three weeks, no more issues to date. Thank you, Birdfy. I am happy with this product and the customer service

My Birdfy camera/feeder works well, Easy to set up and working within minutes. It’s great to watch the bird’s antics when waiting to feed. Need to buy more bird food, for the first time they are eating seed as well as black sunflower seeds.
A great buy at a special price.
dealing with their customer service is a nightmare. I immediatley tried to cancel an order because it was going to a wrong address(my fault) and they where selling the same items at 50% less on Amazon. They told me that it had already shipped, impossible. They offered me A 15% COUPON (insulting) a reputable company would match their own pricing. I am still waiting to hear from them. I will update if I do. otherwise I would not recommend this company.

Poor customer service. No replies to emails. Once they have your money, they dont appear to care.
Also extremely slow delivery on items.

I am on my second camera from Birdfy support because of charging issues. The second one failed also and company policy will not replace it for a 3rd time. told me to take it back and get a refund.
Camera capture great pictures as long as they are charged. Solar charger did not work and camera needs charging every 3 -4 days.
I have taken mine back and would NOT purchase this system.

This is very flimsy and breaks very quickly. They will send a new part if you spend ages finding info for them but then that snapped too ! Then the whole extension broke off and smashed. It’s just flimsy with thin plastic so it doesn’t even sit on the bracket without tilting down all the time, the fit is poor and I had to prop it up but that isn’t good enough ! There is better out there or just put a camera up by a strong bird feeder !

I received this as a gift last of May. It worked good for 2 months. I have been on customer service, telephone and on line over 7 times. I charge it to 100%, then no power after 2 hours. My moments are duplicating themselves. Then I get a notice I do not have permission to use this app. I no receive a notice there is a bird on the feeder and now no longer records. I’m disappointed and frustrated. Customer service was very nice especially Julie but NO ONE has been able to help. What is my next step? I don’t want to leave a bad review but it now has done nothing but malfunction, working only a month! It was a gift so I can’t even get a refund. Is there anything Birdfy will do for me?

I had issues the first day but then figured out I entered the wrong WiFi password. I reset the camera of my Birdfy Bath Pro and now I am able to view the livestream. I like that I have two cameras - a static one and the other that moves and follows the birds.
Camera only worked for about 12 hours. I have spent four hours on their live chat line, being passed from agent to agent. Very disappointing; avoid
Camera details provided to several of your agents.
You have now agreed to a refund.

I bought a Birdfy Bamboo in 2024 on my own and had an easy experience with setup and capturing photos/photos i my first year. I got it after trying (and returning) a Bird Buddy. I made sure to get the model with an included lifetime ID subscription. If you follow the company's instructions to take care of the wood it'll last! The original Birdfy camera in this feeder is like 'old reliable'. It just works and the battery lasts several days without help from a solar panel. I charge it overnight when needed.
I also started using a Birdfy Feeder 2 Pro in 2025 as part of a promotion/contest for their new livestream features. I love the improved camera quality on this new device. I wish the camera itself was a bit smaller and heavier duty, but it's still great for my needs. I've been using the livestream feature and it's not as stable as I'd like, but it works. It'd be even better if it could reliably stream 4K video. I like then portrait mode feature for photos, but find that I don't need it at all for videos.
I'm surprised to read the reviews bashing the Birdfy support team. I've had to engage with them several times and the experience was fine. In two cases my issues were resolved with replacement hardware in about 1.5 weeks. I've always engaged with support over email instead of phone.
Both of my feeders have been pulled down by black bears two or three times and survived. I also recently bought the Birdfy pole because it has multiple arms and a cute decoration on top. It's a nice way to use my Birdfy feeders and feeders from other brands all on one pole. I did have to replace the Birdfy baffle with a different brand, but overall I still like the pole better than any others I've tried.
I think price-wise Birdfy is aligned with the other similar brands of smart feeders, but can be really affordable during sales or through retail partners.
I don't mind that the Birdfy team is not based in the US. They are really open to feedback from their users and I've always gotten support replies within 24 hours. I am happy to be using their cool products and would look forward to trying more in the future as my setup and budget allow 📸🐦. There's also a really great community of folks in the US and Europe (maybe other locations, but that's what I've noticed) to share photos/videos, tips, troubleshooting, and ideas. The Birdy community team does a nice job keeping these channels active with engaging content, questions, calls for feedback, and contests/prizes.
There are lots of brand options with individual pros and cons and kinks to work out. After spending my own money on different brands of bird feeders and accessories I think Birdfy is a great choice (and not just because they gave me an additional feeder during a promotion). It's important to do you research on features, setup, and expectations to find the right fit for your needs.
Absolutely love the products. They're super easy to use and user friendly. We currently have 3 devices and looking to add the birdbath one next!!
I absolutely love Birdfy! I have two of their feeders and their dual camera birdhouse. They literally have the best customer service who will work with you if you have any issues. So many people have seen my stories on social media of my feet are in house and I can’t count on both hands How many people have inquired and ended up buying either the feeder or house. I have my eye on the birdbath next.
We have had the Birdfy feeder for a year now, and it has been a joy to see the multitude of birds visit. The feeder does a great job of notifying me on the App - we just got the Birdhouse!
I echo what many other legitimate users have said. This thing worked for maybe a day then quit charging, quit connecting and quit detecting motion. Their overseas tech support pointed a finger at every aspect of my setup and not their junk product. I tried numerous SSID Wi-Fi bands, 2.4Ghz only, charged via a wall charger, put the unit right next to my router. When it did connect, the live view was all black and no motion detected. It’s just garbage. I spend hours and over a week back and forth with tech support for them to finally offer a refund and within an hour they inbound and locked my device. So now it’s a metal bird feeder with a locked camera paper weight. You can’t leave any negative reviews on their own website. They filter everything. On Amazon, “Amazon has noticed unusual reviewing activity on this product. Due to this activity, we have limited this product to verified purchase reviews.“ this means most positive reviews are likely fake and this is just a Chinese shill company operating under a US business license selling garbage products to unsuspecting customers. Stay away.

This was a gift and although I was very excited to receive and use it in principle, this feeling soon passed and unfortunately it’s back in its box and very unlikely to be seen again. I won’t bother to list my reasons as I’ve wasted enough time with it and only wish to warn others and suggest they look at alternatives to this expensive failure. It is only due to politeness towards the gift giver that I haven’t asked for the receipt in order to get rid of it.
Edited on 03-07-25 to add; Birdfy seem to be demanding my private telephone number in order to recognise my review as genuine, I will not be providing this information but it does make me feel that my refusal to give it will allow them to dump this feedback and resolve this issue by making it just disappear.

I wish there was a zero star option. This was a Birthday gift. I am tech savvy, and spent HOURS trying to get this garbage app to connect and work - WHAT A JOKE! I actually returned one thinking that I just was just unfortunate and got a lemon - both units were complete lemons! Unfortunately, based on the concept and my belief that it would work I also purchased one for my mother in law for a gift and am (knowing what a nightmare these things are) am now not going to give it to her.
I feel like their customer service department blames their piece of crap equipment on their customers - it is somehow my fault this does not work. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!
