Set up failure
Edit: I’ve changed my review from 1 to 3 stars. After about 4 weeks my parents were able to be assisted by customer service and their unit is up and running.
Sent Birdfy to my parents for christmas. They have spent hours trying to get it connected and spent much time on the phone with customer service who is unable to help them. They said to find a more tech savvy person to help them. This device requires you to possibly call you IP to have them drop your 5G band in for a period of time to connect. It might not be enough to simply switch to your 2.4 band. BTW- you can't connect on a 5G band in any case. This has been the most frustrating gift I have ever sent anyone. I do not recommend birdfy at all. It shouldn't be this hard. Just google and you will see all of the issues with set up.
