Bad experience, but excellent customer service follow up, maybe it was a one off
False lead times and false promises are my first impressions of Perch & Parrow. It was the first time using this company but I was impressed with the quality of good on sale and choose my items using the estimated lead time on their website. All items in stock and with me in 14 days it said. Days and weeks beyond the 14 days I chased and I was told that all but one of my items was in stock and the outstanding item was imminent so they would wait a couple of more days to send everything out together. Bearing in mind it was a dining table and six chairs, this made sense. Days later nothing happened, I chased again and was told it was all with the warehouse who were allocating a delivery. Days later, nothing. I chased again and I was told the items could not be despatched due to one item still being outstanding. I explained I was told this more than week ago and then told everything was ready and with the warehouse. After the advisor chased up again, I was told no a few more days for the missing item. Days later, nothing. I chased again and I was told they will deliver all the items apart from the missing one as this was still delayed and they were prepared to release as. much as the order as they could. Okay I agreed, this meaning I would get a dining table and 4 chairs instead of 6, but I was just pleased to get something to eat and sit at, so I was willing to wait for the last pair of dining chairs separate.
I was told the items were now with the warehouse who is currently speaking to their courier service to allocate me an urgent slot. Days later , nothing. I chased again and was told it was now with the delivery company who had the items and they should be in touch anytime now with the delivery options. Days later, nothing. I rang the courier company instead who confirmed the Perch & Parrow had not provided anything to them yet, so there was no delivery slot to be allocated as far as they were aware. I rang back to Perch & Parrow who once again advised it was out of their hands now and the courier company had the items to deliver, I then called them out and said that was utter rubbish as I had just spoken to the courier company. I was then met with silence, I cancelled all my items and I would never use them again. Please don't state 'in stock with 14 days lead time' if you cannot deliver, then please do not fob your customers off with rubbish. It's a shame as the items looked lovely on their website, I have had to go elsewhere and spend lots of money with a competitor !
Upon writing my review the team at Perch & Parrow got in touch and quickly looked into my experience. Tara was very human with her response and confirmed how it had gone wrong and give me reassurance that this was not their normal practice. (to be fair the other reviews do indicate that too). I changed my 1 star review to a 3 based on the excellent customer service following up on my feedback and for the honest no quibble findings, I like that a company can say sorry when they got in wrong without giving excuses or hiding. Yes it went horribly wrong for me, but hopefully this was a one off and I feel reassured enough to give Perch & Parrow another go bearing in mind how nice there products appear to be.
