Pays very late

Three months have passed since I participated in one of their user studies and they have yet to pay me. I sent numerous emails but none of them resulted in any sort of payment to be sent.

Will they ever pay?

I participated in a user research study with Virtue Research. It's been four months and I am still not paid for my efforts. I contacted them about it after about two months of the completion of study. They said they pay in 12-14 weeks after the project closure on April 1st. After 14 weeks passed from April 1, and the payment was still not sent! I contacted them again and this time they said it's been only 10 weeks now, not 14.

So basically:

1) they don't communicate the payment timelines upfront
2) only when you contact them, you learn about the project closure date (not when YOU completed the project but when the WHOLE project closes)
3) they pay VERY late (14 weeks after project closure?? I wonder if they would be willing to get their salaries 14 weeks after they worked?)
4) AND the payment date is fluid, it keeps on moving even after 14 weeks have passed!

At this point I lost my trust in them. It's extremely annoying and frustrating that a big company can be so lackluster with its communication and payments.

They just wash their hands off

Many times after you go through their trailer or pilot TV show previews, and fill out surveys and easily spend about an hour on all of this, the survey terminates at the end saying "oh no, something went wrong" and you end up not getting paid for your efforts. I contacted this company numerous times about this problem and every time they say it is not in their control but it is the movie studios that reject surveys. The reason is always the same: the survey wasn't filled out in the time that they thought it should take, which is about 15-20 mins for trailers and about 60 mins for pilot TV shows. But the problem is, the trailer surveys are so short that it takes only 7-8 mins to fill it out and the pilot shows are so long that just watching the show takes 60 mins let alone filling out the survey! So it is almost impossible to do the work within their allocated timelines! I tried to explain this to cine.vote many times over multiple emails. I even recorded my screen while filling out the surveys and sent them this evidence that I AM filling out the surveys, I am NOT rushing anything, yet it still takes what it takes and yet I still automatically get rejected! When I sent this proof, I never heard back from them again. This company just wants to wash its hands off and not deal with it. They just say "it is the studio rejecting it" and get out of it. Well, that's just not right. They are our contact with the studio and they should own this right. Hence the one star feedback for them not taking ownership AND for them ignoring my email with proof.

They don't pay, they never respond

I worked on a video project for this company. I sent my part on time. They said in their email that my videos are approved and I will receive communication about payments in 10 days. Well... 10 days passed... and even longer time has passed... there was NO communication. I emailed the person who sent me that email THREE TIMES. No response! Absolutely none! I added another contact to the email thread from the past emails I've seen. NO RESPONSE! I added support team to the email thread and a ticket got created automatically. One week passed, still NO RESPONSE! I added the person from voices.com who recruited me. STILL NO RESPONSE! I am simply tired of waiting. This company is great at getting what they want from you but once the delivery is done, they go silent. They must be looking for free data. This has been one huge disappointing experience.

Reply from Voices

Thanks very much for letting us know. We're so sorry to hear that your experience with Voices has not been a positive one.

The video project is a newer type of project for us and the volume of submissions is taking more time than anticipated to get through, in addition to the volume of inquiries. We are working hard to improve these processes so that people don't have to wait too long to hear back.

We've spoken with the team and your payment was scheduled for payout on June 7, so you should receive payment this week. One of our team members has reached out to you directly to communicate this as well.

Please also be assured that anyone who works with us will be paid and that we will never using anyone's voice or image in any way outside of what is clearly laid out in the job description and the job agreement. We take our commitment to this very seriously.

We apologize sincerely again that this process has been frustrating for you, and we very much appreciate your patience.

This company uses your data without paying

This company is the owner of "Opinions HQ", which replaced "SurveyMini" which was an app that paid for the surveys you filled out. One day SurveyMini abruptly shut down the app and sent email to its members asking them to join the new company Opinion-HQ and they wiped out all the money in our accounts instead of transferring them to the new platform. Just like that! I contacted them multiple times but they never ever responded to me even though I can see that my emails have been read (I have a browser extension that shows that). They not only stole many people's money but also they never respond.

Useless bot and inaccurate tracking info with wrong ETA

They would not be my choice of company to receive a shipment from but unfortunately the sellers chose them. TWICE now, they show an ETA of the delivery for shipment that counts down to 5 mins and then the ETA disappears with no shipment received. I contact them through online chat on their site, which is answered by a bot. I give the tracking number and all the bot says is "connecting you now" and hours pass, nobody contacts! This is ridiculous. Do they have any humans in this company that monitor the chat?

Review of Chase

Security measures gone too far

I've been a Chase customer for more than 10 years. I have two Chase credit cards. I opened a business checking account hoping to get the $300 sign-up promotion. I opened the account online and everything went fine, until 3 days later when I was not able to log in to neither the business checking account nor the credit card (personal) accounts. They were all locked due to "suspicious activity". I called the 800 number to get it resolved. Customer service worked on it for close to 30 mins but they were not able to resolve it. They told me the only way to fix it is by going to the branch. So I went to a Chase branch and after wasting another 30 minutes there I was informed that the business checking account was already closed and in order to unlock my personal accounts I have to submit a utility bill that shows my address. This has been a very disappointing experience for me. Not only I missed the signup bonus and got my business checking account closed for no reason, but also I wasted so much time to unlock my PERSONAL accounts which is not even related to the business account and they have been working just fine for so many years! I have several questions and comments for Chase:

1) How come I was able to open the business checking account online without any address verification need? If account can be opened online easily, and there is not even one single transaction on it yet, what makes Chase think there is "suspicious activity" with it?

2) Why doesn't Chase CALL ME if they see a "suspicious activity" but instead they lock me out of ALL my Chase accounts?

3) Why does Chase close my business checking account rather than CALL ME and work with me to fix whatever issue they had?

4) Why is this even affecting my personal accounts?

5) Why can't I resolve any of these issues with a simple call to customer service but instead I have to waste 30 mins on the phone and then another 30 mins at the branch (not counting the commute time)?

6) Why are your teams so disjointed? Online site lets me open the account, some other backend team comes up with a "suspicious activity" alert (which, by the way, was never explained to me what they suspicious activity was!), customer service on the phone is clueless, banker at the branch can't do much either other than call other teams. Everybody seems so disconnected from each other.

Security measures gone TOO FAR

This site has taken the security measures far too much so that it takes me almost 5 minutes to activate a card and then another 5 minutes to add it to my wallet. It is absolutely ridiculous. The latest "prove that you are a human" puzzle asks to identify the "mouse that can't reach the cheese" for 15 different screens. It takes 10 seconds easily to go through one screen. That is 150 seconds total, AND if you made ONE single mistake, guess what, you have to start over again and go through the 15 puzzles again!!! This is only to ACTIVATE a card. And god forbid if you want to add that activated card to your wallet, then you not only have to solve the puzzle again but also wait for the one time password to be sent. I am not kidding, it takes me almost 5 mins to activate a card. All sites are trying to make it easier for their users to log in to their site while myprepaid center makes it harder and harder. I can't help but wonder if this is intentional and they really don't want you to activate the card and/or track your expenses on it so the money stays with them. I mean, why on earth would they make it sooo hard to activate and log in? I understand the security concerns but this is WAY TOO MUCH! And guess what, if you go to their "contact us" page on their site to give feedback about this, there is no way to do that!!! I guess they don't want feedback either and they'd rather have complaints published publicly like this? Oh well!

2.5 months later still not paid

I participated in a video recording study with them on August 10, 2022. It is now October 26 and they have yet to pay me for my efforts. Half of my emails to them are left unanswered, the other half of the replies always says the same thing: we got too many payments to go through, soon we will pay. In this day and age it really boggles my mind how a company cannot manage its payments when there are so many tools out there like PayPal, Venmo etc. Oh another thing, they make the payment via bank transfer (if they ever make it!) I have been extremely disappointed with them.

** They replied to my review on November 24 and since the platform here doesn't let me respond to their reply, I will add it here as an update. What they are saying is not true. I have NOT received any payment. I don't know whose records they are checking! And yes, of course I applied for other studies after, is that not allowed? While waiting for them to pay me, I can of course apply for more studies. I have NOT applied for more studies with them after leaving this review. Reading other reviews here I see that this is a pattern they have with other US participants as well. I don't think it is coincidence that their UK reviewers are happy with them but US participants all complain about payment issues. Perhaps VocalViews should look into their US payment system before responding to our reviews that they are not valid.

**** Update from April 25, 2023: VocalViews flagged my review as invalid and not genuine so TrustPilot asked for verification. I sent them the screenshot of my whole email exchange with VocalViews. I can't believe this company is not only paying but also denying my review. Wow, just wow. Well, emails don't lie. Proof is sent to TrustPilot.

Hi, This review is not valid as you were paid your incentive within our T&C of 21 days after the completion of the study. Of which, you agreed to when signing up with us and also when applying for the project. We always pay all of our respondents that participate in our projects correctly. You have also applied to many of our studies since leaving this review. Following on from your update, you have been paid along with all 1,245 respondents that participated in this project from the UK and US. Our point that you have applied for other studies after leaving this review, is that you state you are 'extremely disappointed' with your experience with us and our company, and yet you still apply to participate in more studies! We will not be replying anymore but to again state that your review in invalid. I am sure people can make up their own minds when reading through the amount of 4/5 stars reviews we have received. Wishing you all the best.

Not worth your time

I submit my review for the test they were running, which got promptly rejected with the comment that I need to put more precision. I asked them what they mean and got no response. They want "precision" for your work yet they themselves show none of it. It is not worth your time. I deleted my account with them and not planning to go back.

Review of Wrench/YourMechanic

They need to know their limits

This service might be good for simple fixes and easy maintenance only, nothing mor than that. I booked them for a strange high pitch random sound coming from my car. On their first visit, they said the brake booster needs to be replaced. So we booked another appointment for this replacement. However, after working on the car for two hours, the mechanic gave up and said that it's best if the dealer installs the brake booster. So they kept the car overnight and took it to the dealer, at no additional cost to me. After the dealer's brake booster installation, noise was gone but after a few months, that strange noise was back! I booked them again and this time the mechanic replaced some valves but failed to keep paper records of the work he did! Even after his "fixes", the noise didn't go away. So I asked for my money back but it took them more than a month to agree to refund me and I had to have a few email and phone exchanges to get this going. The company almost implied that the second set of fixes were something between me and the mechanic as there was no paper trail. I found that very unprofessional. It's not my problem if their mechanic doesn't record what he does.

I wish they just said at the beginning that this is not a job they are capable of doing, that it is beyond simple maintenance and referred me to somewhere else. Total of 6 months passed since my first appointment with them about this issue, and I still have the problem but at least got the money back (after some struggle). I wish them good luck but I don't think I will book their services again even for simple services because I lost my trust in them.
