The fact that we have a brand new gym…
The fact that we have a brand new gym and some great workers there makes the experience extra special. Our new Manager, Brad dos a super job. He actually does lots of work around the gym. He’s always troubleshooting problems. We appreciate his commitment to the gym and our members. Our gym is in Plaistow NH. My wife and I have been members of Planet Fitness for two decades. Thanks Plaistow Planet for everything you do. Sincerely, Gerry and Lynda Quatrale.
Excellent Gym For The Money
I have been an [on-and-off] member of Planet Fitness for upwards of 12 years. Back then, the entire chain was mismanaged, poorly maintained, and staffed by people who obviously did not want to be there. You never saw anyone cleaning the facilities, and you were never greeted with a friendly smile, or waved goodbye and told to have a nice day when you left.
I rejoined Mountain Edge Planet Fitness at 7895 Blue Diamond Rd., Las Vegas, when they opened in 2020. I expected a clean, well-maintained, friendly atmosphere, given their brand-new status. I also expected it to quickly become like most other Planet Fitness locations — not only in the Las Vegas area, but also the ones I have visited throughout the country during my travels — dirty, dingy, and poorly maintained, as most are.
Fast forward five years, and this gym looks [almost] as good as it did the first day I rejoined. In fact, because of the change in management at the gym level, it's even better than it was when I first joined 5 years ago. The new staff are more friendly and welcoming than at any other facility I've been a member of. That includes places like LifeTime Fitness Summerlin, L.A. Fitness, and Equinox, both located in Los Angeles, which are literally 6 to 10 times the monthly cost of Planet Fitness. Now, please don't get me wrong — I'm not comparing the LifeTime or other physical facilities to Planet Fitness. I am comparing their cleanliness and staff, which are better at the Blue Diamond gym than at any other Planet Fitness in the entire chain.
The Mountain Edge facility is cleaned regularly by all personnel, including the store managers. The equipment is kept up at least as well as the more expensive health clubs, and the bathrooms are sanitized, but the key here is the friendliness of the staff, which starts at the top. A few people deserve much of the credit. First is the manager, Nivek, who could not be any more friendly or pleasant. Second is Brandon, the assistant manager, who is as friendly and accommodating as anyone I've ever met at a health club. Then there are Kaitlyn and Mikaela, whom I no longer see much because my workout schedule doesn't align with theirs. I'm also not great with names, but virtually all the front desk staff at this facility are noteworthy, even if I don't recall their names.
This review is long overdue since I rejoined in 2020. If I could offer a higher score of 5 stars, I most certainly would.
terrible options
They offer no other option to pay other than monthly payments directly from your checking account, I asked management if I could pay for the year in advance to avoid giving out my account information with a credit card for added security because of all the horror stories people have shared about giving out checking information to this organization, for a company to be so limited is ridiculous, there bicycling in the jet age... adapt or go extinct...
This gym is absolutely terrible
This gym is absolutely terrible. About six months ago, when I was pregnant, I went there and asked them to cancel my membership. The guy at the front desk told me it was canceled and that I didn’t need to do anything else. But they kept charging me anyway!
When I went back recently to sign up again, I found out I supposedly owed over $300 — even though I had canceled my membership. I couldn’t believe it. The staff clearly has no idea what they’re doing.
To make things worse, the girl told me I’d have to pay half the amount and couldn’t work out — but she only said that after canceling my membership. She could’ve told me before, and I would’ve just kept my membership active instead of canceling it.
They never actually canceled my account, and now I’m the one paying the price. Terrible customer service and poor communication. I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone.
Its a scam they said charge you only…
Its a scam they said charge you only $24 a month but after 45 days they charge $49 for annual and if you cancel within 10 days the will not refund your money so its actually $28 a month not $24 be careful its a scam I don’t recommend it
Zero Stars For This Gym
If I could give zero stars, I would. From start to finish, my experience with Planet Fitness has been nothing but lies and frustration. The service providers were dishonest about what the membership included, and when I needed help, they gave me the runaround. The app hardly ever works, which made it impossible to track workouts or manage my account properly.
The real nightmare started when I tried to cancel my membership. What should have been a simple process turned into a mission — endless excuses, hidden steps, and delays. To make matters worse, they wrongfully charged me after I had already requested cancellation. It feels like a scam designed to squeeze money out of people instead of offering real service.
Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a gym that respects its members and operates honestly.
My Member ID 9532301431 (Club #95323)
My Member ID 9532301431 (Club #95323). I was misled into a recurring Personal Training contract. I only agreed to 1 month (8 sessions, $148), but was charged $296 for a 2nd month without my consent. Went i informed club manager, he told me nothing can be done as you have already signed the document. I need help. Please refund second month charge $296, cancel future charges, and confirm PT cancellation. If there would have been zero start, I would have given that.
Disappointing experience based off personal judgement!!!
Renton Washington
What a disappointing experience I had today! Nevertheless, when someone treats you unfairly based on personal judgment or who you are, just smile!
Today, I went to the Planet Fitness center in Renton, WA. At the counter, the staff member scanned my barcode and told me I couldn’t use the service anymore unless I updated my credit card information, which is set to expire this month.
I hadn’t even noticed this and didn’t realize I needed a credit card on file since the gym directly withdraws the monthly service fee from my bank account. She explained that the card is required as a backup payment method. But when I checked the payment details in my app, I saw that I already paid for this month, and my next due date isn’t until October 17—almost a month away.
A better approach would have been to politely remind me: “Please update your credit card information before your next due date.” Instead, she immediately restricted my access, which didn’t feel right. She seemed to forget that her role is to represent the company and serve all clients equally—not make personal judgments. She doesn’t even know me! This was actually the second time she treated me differently.
Since May, over the past five months, I haven’t even been able to go to the gym more than ten times due to my busy schedule. Still, I’ve never wanted to cancel my membership. Every month, I pay $27.58 for my Black Card membership, regardless of how often I attend.
My question to the fitness center is this: Why do you need credit card information if a person is already paying directly from their bank account? If someone fails to pay, then naturally they shouldn’t receive the service. Isn’t that how it should work?
Great gym with nice new member promo
Great gym with nice new member promo. I highly recommend the black card membership.

Called and wanted to cancel my membership that I haven't used in two years and was told I need to go into the local gym. I keep forgetting to go and keep being charged. You should be able to cancel through the corporate office.
Egregious billing policy
I went once in a year. That's on me. I went too cancel and they billed me for an annual renewal and for a month AFTER I cancelled. I'll never use this mediocre company again.
Planet Fittness in Sumter South Carolina This review is about someone who works…
This review is about someone who works at Planet Fittness. His name is Ryan W . he is a very hard worker. Ryan works 3rd shift at Planet Fittness you would think that it isn't busy but it gets busy. Everyone at the same time has the same thought ( it's hey let's go work out which is cool ) but it can get hectic and you have to keep the gym clean also. Ryan is very professional and knowledgeable. It is a very clean gym with modern equipment . Very well maintained. The parking lot is very clean and plenty of light. Thank you Ryan at the Sumter South Carolina Planet Fittness.
Always clean
Always clean, friendly staff, great variety of equipment. Only wish they were open later on weekends.

I am a former employee at the oxford al plant fitness and I have a couple concerns. The club manager Madison Hammond is rude and sneaky towards her employees. She talks to other employees about others business. When she decided to make me which I was a 4-12 full time worker to a floater everyone knew but me. My sister who works morning shift had to set me down and tell me that Madison had already hired someone else for my shift and was training the guy in the morning. I had to come in there myself and find her and had to sit her down and ask her what was going on for her to finally tell me. I felt betrayed and hurt. This is the first job that had that I felt like I had to walk on egg shells. Every time I had a problem I was told to call the assistant manager. When I did had to call Madison she was so aggravated and annoyed. I know that I cant be the only one who feels like this. I do not want to ever go back to that gym for anything I will be finding me another gym that is not planet fitness. Thank you so much.
Think twice if you’re not a trained athlete
Been going pf in various locations since around the time of $5 memberships.
For two decades have appreciated convenience, price and equipment. Till now.
The PFs I frequent are replacing the standard equipment with stuff that gym bros and college athletes on spring break can appreciate. Gym bros can find more suitable gyms and college athletes have their own facilities.
PF has abandoned its original business plan of appealing to everyone. Many new pieces are hard to adjust, hard for joints, require uncomfortable positions and not as effective as the old designs. An example is the hip adductor which digs into thighs, leaving marks, jerky and uncomfortable resistance - on many pieces- and not angled properly for results. As a former college athlete I recognize the hard core power equipment that no longer appeals to me. Some useful equipment like assorted ab crunchers have disappeared.
Loop pull adjusters are really difficult to use.
PF can’t possibly have beta tested this stuff. Not sure who’s making these decisions or why they’re moving so far away from a business model that worked for everyone.
If you’re a college athlete on break or someone who works exclusively with a trainer join. If anyone else, DONT. Save your money.
Athena is a rude manager
Black card member for 10 years at Sahara ave. club in Las Vegas. Employee is very rude and the manager Athena, enables that behavior Most of the other employees are okay Haven't had any problems before Athena began managing the club.
It is a very unsafe gym so much so that they steal from the dressing rooms.
I am a tourist who came to train at Planet Fitness and it is a very unsafe place because yesterday, Sunday, August 24, I left my backpack in the lockers and I had some money and it was stolen. I reported it to the administration and they did not care and the amount was 2,800 dollars. I told them and they did not care and they told me that they cannot do anything. I asked for the cameras at the entrance of the dressing rooms and they told me that they could not see them. A very bad experience with the administration. This event happened at Planet Fitness in Fall Church and Seven Corner.
Not 24/7
Not 24/7. Not a full scale gym. Management does truly value customers. They make money by 3/4 of customers not showing up. Honestly, not very clean and they dont pay their staff worth a flip. I was there for a long time but they just dont inprove.
It’s been awhile
I’ve left a few reviews for planet fitness. I’ve been going to PF since the end of January. I’m at the gym everyday 7 days a week. It’s always clean, depending on the time I arrive if it’s over night shift still at work, there’s a good chance I won’t have napkins, but once morning crew comes in Emily and Zane and Micheal usually get things done. I’ve seen a few employees come and go. (was definitely not happy about Sonya leaving) I see Emily and Zane most they are always attentive and smiling (why they so happy all the time though ) they always greet you and if you have any issue they got you. Your workouts are as good as YOU make them, the atmosphere is as good as the employees can make it. During my regular gym time it’s always a positive experience, and I just want to remind you guys that i appreciate it, I see you thank you for all that you guys do !
