I had difficulty getting your on-line application format to accept/load. As happens with many such formats, the algorithm writer thought that he/she had covered all situations - WELL THEY HAD NOT! and foolishly they failed to add the "else"code-option to cover unforeseen situations (like my situation was). In short, you need to add a capability for the application to "accept/load" the document with added information (for human interpretation?) ..... 13/14? Oct/Sep? 25
I found a "work-around" and it worked OK.
I'm unstoppable! Lol! (and a long-time satisfied customer)
Ive been using OFX for the last 5 years and have always found the service to be quick, effortless, and easy to use. The customer service team are also always quick to respond/help if you need it, or have any questions, which i find invaluable. (No overseas call centres!) Their online portal has also just been upgraded and is very user friendly and simple to manage all my own transactions, transfers and exchanges online. I would recommend OFX for personal and business use.

Great service again on time and great rate
Thanks Kevin
Clear, timely and efficient communication. The process is transparant and easy to follow as well as being reliable.
NO TRUSTABLE
Stay away from this company. Collected tons of sensitive information and processed everything very slowly. No customer services. No kind responses or explanations at all for their non-professional behaviors at all.
Used over many years. Genuine, reliable with good customer services
I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with OFX Australia was so appalling it demands attention. I trusted them to handle a straightforward international money transfer from Australia, and they failed spectacularly.
Not only did the transfer never reach its destination, but it took four full weeks—yes, an entire month—for them to return my funds. During this time, communication was vague, evasive, and painfully slow. I was left in the dark, chasing updates, with no accountability from their team. Their so-called "support" felt more like a black hole of canned responses and empty promises.
This wasn’t just inconvenient—it was financially disruptive. OFX’s incompetence cost me time, money, and peace of mind. For a company that claims to specialize in global transfers, their service was anything but professional.
If you value reliability, transparency, and basic customer service, look elsewhere. OFX Australia has proven to be unreliable, unresponsive, and utterly untrustworthy. Stay away from this company at all costs!
Team member Arushi went the extra yard in resolving an issue for me by becoming the single point of contact and asssiting me to close out quickly.

Fast transfer
Great customer service with a emphasis on security. Always a quick and simple transfer with good, competitive rates.
It’s so easy. I’ve made 9 transactions - no catches, traps or gotchyas.
I’ve rung twice because I thought things were too simple! Turns out they were really that simple.
Answered straight away both times and their staff are knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Thanks for your help today Thea.
Oh, and of course the forex rates leave the banks for dead.
👍👍👍👍👍
I was a regular user of OFX to pay for overseas holidays in foreign currency and previously had no issues with their service.
However I have now had issues with 2 attempted payments from AUD/JPY to a Hong Kong based travel company. These payments were attempted on the 12/8/25 and re-attempted on the 2/9/25. The first attempt resulted in my funds being returned minus a fee with no valid reason for the rejection.
The second attempt on the 2/9/25 was also held up by OFX's intermediary bank. I was advised that this was due to an OFAC (USA) compliance review, of which I provided answers to all their questions on the 12/9/25 after I was requested for this information by OFX. I was requested similar compliance questions again from OFX's intermediary bank on the 3/10/25.
Users should be aware that if your transfers are caught up in a "Compliance Review" by OFX intermediary banks in the USA- it is frustrating and time consuming trying to get an accurate answer as to the status of your transaction by OFX.
Although OFX customer service reply's to your queries they do not appear to have the ability to expedite a solution.
The 2nd payment attempt was finally paid to the recipient on the 6 October 2025 (over 5 weeks after the transaction was done).
I have not received any communication from OFX advising that this was eventually paid - I received a confirmation from the recipient. I appreciate that OFX uses an intermediary bank, however this is part of their internal process to deliver a paid service - and is obviously not working as it should.
I will be organizing payments through another means.
The transaction was easy to facilitate, as I was sending $NZ to Canada, and the transfer bank was in Wellington (NZ).
The rate was worse than XE, but XE's transfer bank is in the UK, and ANZ NZ would not readily effect the transaction.
XE is always a better rate, and will be used when an easy procedure is arranged.
Be very careful with this service. I tried to use them to send money to a bank account internationally. They took my money but refused to send it, saying I needed to call them, as I was abroad I couldn't call. They just kept the money.
I then asked to cancel it and have my money back. They refused to give my money back requesting documents from my bank. I provided these documents many times but it was never good enough for them. Finally I had to wait until my bank issued it's monthly report for them to give back my money.
The customer service was also very condescending and rude. Be very careful with this company as they like to recieve money but don't like to send it out. I really got scared it was fully a scam but in the end I did get my money back.
OFX were fast, efficient and kept me informed of my transaction today.
Great exchange rates quick money transfers with no commission. What’s not to like?
It was very quick and easy to do the transaction, money reached the destination before time, thanks for the entire team for the great work 👍
Excellent Services from Vanessa - Shel helped me set up my account and efficiently helped me to do my transfer from OFX. Amazing Services.

Recently my wife and I needed to make a substantial international wire transfer and currency exchange between our U.S. bank and a Canadian bank. We chose OFX to handle the transfer based on their excellent reputation, very competitive exchange rate, and absence of hidden fees. What transpired over the next few weeks has affirmed ten-fold that we made the right choice!
Our US bank made two egregious errors:
First, they misinformed us about the status of our funds, putting us at risk of being unable to complete the transfer within OFX’s agreed upon deadline. Our bank grudgingly acknowledged their error but insisted that they could do nothing about it. When I contacted OFX to inform them of the situation; they immediately and without hesitation extended the deadline for us.
When the first error was finally rectified, we tried again. This time our bank, instead of wiring the funds to OFX’s U.S. account as the written instructions provided by OFX and given to the banker clearly stated, they wired the funds directly to the Canadian bank, bypassing OFX. When we learned of the error, a few hours after it had been made, it was too late to undo the damage. We were thus—by no fault of our own or of OFX’s—in violation of our agreement with OFX and were libel for a substantial loss due to the change in the relative values of the two currencies since we first struck the deal with OFX.
We filed a complaint with our U.S. bank, asking for compensation for lost funds. They said they would investigate and get back to us in two weeks. In the meantime, I informed our agent at OFX of what had occurred. She asked me for the transfer documents and said she would see what she could do. Within a few, she emailed to say that she had discussed the situation with OFX senior managers, and they had decided to waive the loss.
I could hardly believe it. Our U.S. bank eventually finished its investigation, refusing to take responsibility despite the clear, typewritten evidence that their banker had misread the instructions and wired our funds to the wrong bank. By contrast, OFX absorbed a substantial loss for which they bore no responsibility, to protect their customer. The trust, understanding, and generosity that OFX extended us was extraordinary. It is no wonder that OFX has earned a 4.4 Trust Pilot rating, while our U.S. bank is rated at 1.4!
Thank you OFX!!
