Investors beware
I first invested with Oeno in late 2021 as a short-term investor. At the time, they were extremely communicative and responsive in securing my investment.
Since late 2023, I have repeatedly informed them that I wished to liquidate my portfolio. To this day, nothing has been sold, despite a stream of excuses. Over the years, I have sent numerous emails and made countless phone calls to different members of staff, most of whom have since left the company. I have been assigned at least five different account managers, each of whom eventually stopped working at Oeno.
For the past 18 months, my account manager has been Lincoln John. When it became clear that the sale of my wines was going nowhere, I specifically requested the transfer of all my stock to another bonded account so I could regain control. Mr. John assured me this would be completed by the end of July — a straightforward process, given that my wines were supposedly held in stock (though I now doubt this). Nothing was ever transferred, and for the past three months he has disappeared, failing to respond to emails or phone calls.
I then contacted the company’s CEO, Michael Doerr, directly by email. He replied that he would look into the matter, but no action followed.
Avoid this company at all costs.

Sold a portfolio 3 years ago that they still cant sell today. No contact, ignored messages and phone calls.
Do not touch this lot with a barge pole.
I invested in wines through Oeno Wines after being assured by their consultants that the process was straightforward and professionally managed. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite the opposite.
Once the investment was made, communication became extremely poor. The consultants were happy to take the investment funds, but when it came to follow-up or liquidation of assets, responses became inconsistent or completely absent. Despite numerous emails and calls over several months, I received little to no concrete information or action regarding my portfolio.
It took three months for the funds from a wine sale to come through, during which I was repeatedly told there was no timeframe for payment. One consultant even stated, “I can’t give you a time frame of when the money will come through — it’s not my company.”
It has taken multiple escalations — including directly to the company’s CEO — yet even then, the consultants have failed to provide timely or clear updates. This level of professionalism is entirely unacceptable for a company handling client investments.
I have reported my experience to Action Fraud, who are now conducting their investigations. I also informed Mark, one of the consultants, about this, yet he appeared completely unphased by the fact that an investigation was underway. The more people who report their experiences, the greater the weight of evidence Action Fraud and other authorities will have to take action.
I have also been advised to raise this matter with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). While Oeno has confirmed that it is not FCA regulated, the FCA can still investigate potential breaches under the Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA).
It’s clear from other experiences shared online that I am not alone in facing these issues. If you are considering investing with Oeno Wines, I strongly urge you to conduct thorough due diligence and seek independent advice before committing any funds. Based on my experience, the follow-through and accountability are virtually non-existent once your investment has been made.
After a some issues with communication from the company I had left a negative review. But I’ve since had a good talk with Ross and was a very positive chat. Hoping this will be a good relationship now moving forward.

I invested money with Oeno a long time ago. I requested them to start liquidating the portfolio nearly 2 years ago. It took them 12 months just to action this. I have had no response from them since, despite multiple chasers. I have also not had an account manager for months! The whole thing is a mess and a scam!

I invested with them a few years ago and contact has stopped. I get no updates. I have tried contacting them but to no avail. Coming here to read reviews has made me realise I'm not the only one!

Do not invest in Oeno!
This company is a fraudulent scam. Half of the wines that they promise you they don’t actually buy it and they use the money elsewhere. They are very quick to respond to you when you’re going to buy wine through them, but as soon as you want to sell them or move them 3/4 years down the line, you’ll get no response, they just take your money and go.
Oneo owes a lot of people money. The company is financially in massive debt.
I have no doubt Oeno will go under soon and hope it does. They have been reported to multiple trading standards and are being investigated.
Update to Oeno’s response - I was a client of yours for around 4-5 years. Whether I’m a client or not now does not matter to the viewers/investors. They want to see honest reviews from previous or current clients. So don’t give me that shit.
No matter what rubbish you reply to the reviews they are all standard responses that you say the same thing but nothing gets done. Also, it does reflect your company recently as I only left you a few months ago. Stop lying all the time you bunch of clowns.

I invested around £100,000 with OENO several years ago. For the past couple of years, communication has collapsed — emails and messages have gone unanswered, including repeated attempts to contact their CEO directly.
After months of chasing, I finally managed to transfer most of my wines away from OENO. However, I am still missing over £16,000 worth of wines. On OENO’s own manifest, these bottles are marked as “sold,” yet despite my many requests, I have received no explanation and no payment.
This is unacceptable. Investors deserve transparency and accountability, not silence. My experience raises serious questions about OENO’s professionalism and reliability.

I have been a customer of Oeno for the last 4 years. In the early days customer service was excellent. However in the last 12 months it has fallen off a cliff and I cannot get a response from them.

I have been getting no responses from my account manager and ‘Lincoln’ (don’t believe that’s the real name). I've been promised there would be sales for my remaining bottles for over a year now and I have more than £7,000 in wines that have been in a 'in brokerage' state for over 9 months.
Do not trust Oeno, they have wasted my time for over 4 years now.

Been with them for three years now and the returns have been solid. My wine portfolio has grown by about 18% annually which beats my stock investments by a decent margin. They helped me sell some Bordeaux bottles last month and the process was smooth as butter. Really happy with how they handle the sales side of things.

This is going on for years. It has been always a terrible service to interact with... and I've been trying to sell my portfolio and get out of it for years too... Finally, about 1 year ago I signed the brokerage form to get on with it, and since then silence... Nothing happens. No proper updates either.
The reply provide is generic and senseless. I do the contacts of people, but they just don't care to reply. I can share numerous e-mails attempt to get an update. It's just terrible, terrible service...

Listed my collection on Friday and had signed contracts by Tuesday which was incredibly fast. Professional buyers who know values and pay fairly without haggling.

I'll let the numbers speak for themselves.
Bottles purchased: 102
Months for Oeno to facilitate sale: 23
Actual Bottles sold: 0
Months since last Oeno Interaction: 8
Oeno Excuses Given / Promises Broken: 500+
Invest your money elsewhere.
I’ve been requesting a full list of my wine holdings since May. After nearly three months, I was finally told that 10 out of 22 wines are missing. No explanation has been provided. This raises serious concerns.
Given the company’s behavior and overall state, one cannot help but question whether these bottles may have been sold off to cover financial shortfalls.
Over the past few months, three different portfolio managers assigned to me have left the company without notice. Even worse, I’ve been unable to transfer my wines to a different wine management company because Oeno has refused to cooperate. Communications are sporadic at best, with emails and calls going unanswered.
I’ve consulted with several reputable firms to assess the wines in my portfolio. Most refused to accept a transfer from Oeno, citing concerns over the wines resale value. Less than 10% of my portfolio was considered proper fine wine, the rest were described as table wines with little to no demand. This raises the question: On what basis was this portfolio constructed? According to consultants, it is highly likely that I was sold wines Oeno already held in stock and could not otherwise sell.
Together with other affected clients, we have instructed legal counsel and are now initiating formal legal action against Oeno. Anyone interested in joining can contact me.
For more than 3 months i tried to get in touch with this company and they only replied once to 1 email. They never reply to any further request, they never replied a call and there is no way to get in touch with somebody. I just want to get my money back but it looks like the company is not willing to discuss with me about the timing and the procedure, which is a thing i find very shady. Im not certain if they are a scamming me, but it is certainly one of the worst experience of customer service that i have ever seen in my life. Please do not invest with them, they are not professional people.

I wish they were 0 star to give to this company, I ll definitely give 0 star. Unfortunately I join them in 2022, after 1 year of non been happy about this kind of investment, I tried to get my money back and since it has been a nightmare . I even send them an official complaint letter explaining my disappointment and try to get my investment back, then nothing has been sorted out , false promises, reading other people reviews just make me sick .
All I know is I’m going to get my money back by hook or by crook as they don’t know how each and individual are working very hard to accumulate this sum of money together. Oeno company, you should be ashamed of yourself by treating people this way . From December 2024 it took you 6 month to get back to me . After a video call from some advisor who I still don’t think he were informed about my case , I m still waiting for you to sort me out & giving me my money back. You have been dragging your feet for a long time , and that’s why I came here to warn EVERYONE who is new and would like to invest in this company to do them research, read other people experiences , and be careful before they invest their money.
Still waiting for mine although I told them 100 times that I wasn’t interested in this kind of investment, as I have asked while joining that this was flexible in case I wanted to come out it would have been easy. But it has been very traumatic & frustrating for my experience .
Hopefully this will help someone out there . Will update when the big issue will be sorted out .
I will pay them a visit before summer end if they don’t get back to me with solutions

Just like the experience of many others, easy to invest, impossible to get answers or liquidate your account…radio silence. My father invested in fine wines in 2023 then he passed away last year, I’ve been trying for 8 or 9 months to get someone to help liquidate the account to settle the estate. Oeno Group has the worst customer service for investors.
Follow up for Oeno and why I wrote this review:
In May of 2023 my dad was finally successful in sending the money to Oeno, he kept getting scam alerts from his bank for some reason, hmmmm.
My initial contact with Paul H. at Oeno regarding liquidation of my dad’s account was 7/23/24, I did not receive a response to my email.
On 7/26/24, I sent a follow up email and Paul responded on 7/29/24 requesting documents in order to close out the account. He also informed me we have been in a “recessionary period” for the last 18 months and the price and liquidity has been negatively impacted.
8/2/24 my response to his email with questions about documents needed and liquidation options. At this point I still believed the wine could be sold and the assets recovered.
I did not receive a response tho my August email but I gathered all the documents he needed and sent them on 1/30/25 with further instructions on liquidation of the account. On 1/30/25 I received an email from Paul, he said he was preparing the documents and acknowledged receipt of the death certificate.
On 2/3/25 I received an email from Paul telling me he had started the sale paperwork which would be sent to me in the next few days and he said he was going to adjust the account into my mother‘s name. I responded to his email on 2/3/25 thanking him and answering his questions, he acknowledged my email and that’s the last I heard from him.
On 5/2/25 I sent an email to Paul to check on things, no response.
On 5/21/25 I sent an email to the general information email at Oenofuture hoping to get some kind of response and open to door again to resolve the situation.
On 5/22/25 Mark responded with condolences and “How can we help”?
On 5/25/25 I asked Mark if we can sell the assets, no response. On 7/15/25 I emailed again, no response.
I don’t think my parents will get their investment back. All I can do is provide an honest review of my experience with Oeno Group and hope others read it before investing with them.

Oeno responded to my last review saying I expected my wines to be transferred to our private LCB immediately - which is untrue and misleading so I’m providing an accurate update.
On the 15th of July, I requested the LCB Warehouse Names and Account References for our remaining wine portfolio. I have sent 4 emails now to the Head of Account Management and CEO with the exact same request, with no reply. Another wonderful display of customer service from this top class, genuine organisation…
In the meantime, I’ve contacted LCB who have said that once Oeno processes our wine transfer request, it will take LCB between 3-5 working days for wine to be in our own private account. Will Oeno provide every excuse under the sun as to why it will take longer? I’ll update.
