“Buy before 6pm for next day delivery”, arrived 7 days later.

“Buy before 6pm for Next Day Delivery”, arrived 7 days later. Paid 9/6/25 but didn’t arrive next day. Then I read the small print on the completed order that described “special delivery instruction”, which in turn promised delivery in 3-5 days. Then I got a phone call from “Furdeco” Viking’s delivery firm on a Saturday, even though the order had said they would call me Monday-Fri to arrange delivery….and so it went on. My small two drawer filing cabinet was received 7 days after I paid for it. Viking need to learn from Amazon or Ao how to do rapid delivery inside the UK. I will never recommend or trade with Viking again.

My “go-to” store for house renovation stuff

My favourite supplier for everything related to my house renovation project. The Toolstststion Club provides a good incentive to shop with a real %discount across all my spending. It is an impressive system, as compared to other competitor offerings which are more “points”, or “voucher” based requiring specific purchases (that I don’t actually want) before any discount may be applied. Toolstation is my go to store. Friendly, efficient staff.

Spar at Langho, in Lancashire.

Re: Spar at Langho, Lancashire. A superb “community store” that sells just about as a convenience store, open long hours 7 days a week. It’s also the local post office counter, a drop off point for Evri and Amazon returns. Staffed by locals, serving locals. The staff are always very pleasant. A superb “local shop”.

Superb. Excellent Customer Service too. On the recommendation of Martin Lewis, I purchased three Sim-only deals. The Sims arrived rapidly and were easy to install. When I hit a complication their customer services were excellent. I can’t fault them! Very happy to recommend them here.

Could be much better, with little effort.

Stayed at “Novotel Manchester West” last week, as a day-rental. There to photograph a client. I specifically requested a high floor room with good natural light, a comment I requested again with Check-in for room allocation. The day was warm, bright and very sunny. However, the room I was given was on the ground floor with a large tree outside the window that masked any view and most of the natural light. I had to switch the light on in the room, on one of the sunniest days of the year. I had been assured by the front desk that the natural light in this room was excellent. Other than the absence of light the room would have been perfect for my needs, being a good size and well appointed. The free water in a fridge and bath robes were an unexpected, pleasant, surprise. Pity about the light which was so essential. I shall probably try the hotel one more time as the day-use price and location are superb for my needs. General impressions of the hotel “Not bad, but could be much better with very little effort”.

Tiny. Tiny Room. Not staying here again.

Travelodge Lancaster M6 (Forton Services, Northbound). A clean room, nice staff but the smallest Travelodge room I’ve ever experienced. It was pokey and cramped, to the extent the cleaning staff put the chair in the wardrobe as no real floor space for it. Tiny room. Won’t be staying here again. The staff said all the bigger roomed Travelodge were all down south…what poppycock!! The answer suggested I’d never used Travelodge before, even though mine was a business booking.

I buy magnesium, zinc, feroglobin, vitaminD and “over70” multivitamins. I bought 3 for 2 for several years, recently changing over to their subscription service for even more savings. Their products are good, well packaged & received with thanks at our end.

Excellent customer service. Real people, UK based telephone service. Willing to listen. Plus as a “mutual” last year they just gave me £100 for being a member/customer. Sadly only £50 this year but still £150 for nothing is nice!! Better than just a few vouchers. I’m a happy customer!

Medical equipment never arrived. Was returned to sender

Medical equipment never arrived to my chosen locker collection point. The seller denied responsibility, entirely blaming the sub-contractor “Yodel”. The tracking shows it got here, then they tried to make a home delivery despite having no home address, as click/collect was specified as Esso, Chatburn Rd at the point of sale. I do not want potentially embarrassing medical equipment delivered to my home/family. Yodel declared they were unable to get in to the property, despite my drop-off point being an Esso petrol garage open 24/7, 365 days of the year. Unable to deliver they have returned to sender. Equipment was required for 9am Tuesday morning. No chance of that now. Have had to ask retailer for a refund, even though he has no idea where the equipment is either. Yodel to be avoided at all cost for medically urgent equipment .

Sent wrong game, inside the right box.

Sent the wrong game inside the right box, then called me from a “no caller ID” phone number (auto blocked by my phone) but left a voicemail asking me to call them back. I called back to get their voicemail, that says “press 4 and one of us might answer the phone” but after pressing 4, I was directed to leave a voicemail asking me “they were probably out killing someone”. Whilst they are a murder mystery games company, I fear their customer services are represented in extremely poor taste and are offering an extremely poor service to the people who pay their salary. I’m leaving for London tomorrow to deliver this game as a gift. I suspect this error has only come to light as some other poor customer has complained that they also received the wrong murder mystery from what they ordered. I await their return call back with interest, unsure how they can make this right in the time frame.
Edit: when contact was finally established, the company was full of profuse apologies & bent over backwards to make our situation “right” as soon as humanly possible. They were very nice in the end. Except, then they posted the corrected game to the wrong named person at the address. Beggars belief.

Sorry it took so long to respond on trustpilot (We had issues logging back in and have only just been given access), but as you know we reached out the minute we realised something might be wrong - and spotted the issue before you even knew there was a problem. As you know it was all handled within a 6 hours of us realising there was an issue and reaching out, and we fixed it within 24 hours, at no cost to you, delivering the new game to your friend's address as per your request. I can only apologise we had a mix up on the address label to the new addressee (rushing to reach the post office in time for the 24 hour delivery service), but thankfully you'd already alerted them to let them know to expect a parcel, so when one turned up using their first name and your surname, they probably realised what had happened and took it in. I hope you enjoyed the evening after all, and can make use of the other game yourself. Sorry you reached the answering machine when you called back after we reached out that morning. But I was on another call when you rang so couldn't answer the phone. Jo

Ok. Not fabulous.

I ordered 30, 4”x2” timbers (2.4m) for studwork. My online order went in few mins after 5pm. I was surprised to have to wait over 24hrs for any delivery option. The wood was marginally cheaper than Wickes but the latter would have delivered next day thus unsure if I’d shop with Berry’s next time. Plus a lot of the timber was bent, when released from the packing bands. Thus only an ok experience to report here.

Toolstation Club, better than a Trade Account

Better loyalty discounts than their main competitor. It’s easy to spend £75 pcm , which get me 5% of everything in the following month. Doing big jobs, this discount becomes substantial. This is a better discount than the offer to new Trade accounts for their main rival yet I’m a DIY-er not even allowed a trade accounts

Hive Customer Service is better than Hive itself

Hive Customer Service, is better than Hive itself. Setting up & maintaining a stable hive seems almost impossible & not as easy as the instructions say. Why it can’t use the mesh-Wi-Fi existing in the house beggars belief in this day and age. Using its own Wi-Fi in a house, difficult for Wi-Fi makes no sense. But the technical services of Hive are easy to contact and have heard every problem before. They were rapid to deal with & far more impressive than initially expected to be.

Excellent Customer Service after a problem

I bought two wicker basket drawers for my kitchen. They looked great but now that I’m fitting them a couple of weeks after receipt, I’ve noticed that one of the runners hasn’t been cut square to the others, thus am struggling to work out how to fit it. I emailed Customer Services, who were highly apologetic & promptly sent out an entirely new basket & runner set. Excellent service.

Good smells, great for clearing the lungs in a morning shower. Fast delivery service. Bit pricey for what you actually get and how long it lasts in the shower tray though.

TrustPilot doesn’t bias towards business.

I’m reviewing TrustPilot, because of the many review systems that exist, it’s the only one I actually “trust” not to be biased in favour of the business. Over recent years the likes of TripAdvisor and Amazon have become difficult to leave genuinely poor reviews of companies I’ve actually paid but received a poor service from, these review systems favour good reviews over bad which can be seen by customers giving bad textual reviews but 3, 4, or 5-star ratings just to get past the “bias blocker”. However, TrustPilot will accept poor reviews and will even check reviews for further validity, at the request of the company being complained about. When looking up any company you can see a breakdown of their negative reviews, how many they’ve challenged and how many of these challenges have been accepted as valid. From what I’ve seen TrustPilot favours the person taking the time to write the review, over the company receiving the poor reviews. This is why and how I trust them. I used to write reviews on other sites but don’t anymore. Any management/business system is only as good as how it handles negative behaviours. In my books TrustPilot deserves my trust by their continued good action on behalf of the consumers. Well done.
